I feel so bad for this guy, damn the mirror!, but thanks for the video! Please, DO NOT remove the mirror. I have a 2022 G20 330i and I easily did it without removing the mirrors. You can break the mirror, which is expensive to replace (there is a youtube video showing a guy breaking it, super easy to break). All you have to do is manually push the mirror down in order to reach the 2 top clips. Push the clips away-and-out (with the tool that you should get from the seller), while also pull-hold the cover with you other hand at the same time. Once you see that the cover pops-out from top (a little), grab the cover from below and pull it out, it will come out right away. The rest is self-explanatory. Hope this helps.
I don’t understand how u do it without taking glass off. I see the two clips when I face the mirror down but how am I suppose to push one clip up and the other down at the same time with little to no space? I don’t want to break my mirrors thank you
Hey man I bought a pair of carbon fiber side vents too. I bought from Amazon mcacar kit. Fitment is not spot on regular 3m will not hold it. How is your fitment?
you don't need to remove the glass. Point your mirrors all the way down and face them to the inside of the car. That leaves a gap up top to insert a thinner shafted flat head screwdriver and undo the clips. Give it a try much easier and no chance of glass breaking.
Yeah if you have a thin enough screwdriver that might can work. I used to not take the glass off at all and just pry it off with force and a trim tool 😂 I figure since this was a new car I should use some finesse
@BK, thanks for the suggestion. I did my OEM ones, yesterday, and didn't remove the glass. It took a little while to get the light, just right, and to be able to see to push the tabs, in, and pop the front cover, off. It would be better if you had 2 people, but I was able to manage without having to remove the mirror glass. I had already started trying to remove the glass, and I came back to this video, and I just happened to see this comment. So, thank you. $1,400 for the OEM mirror caps, I really didn't want to break a $300-$400 mirror. James, thank you for the video. It gave me the confidence to even start the project.
It was definitely a little work to not remove the glass. Just visually. Like trying to see and work at the same time, if you had a light that stuck to the side window, that snaked around, it would be easier. But I made it work. And no worry about breaking the glass. 🙌
@@WhatsyourForte 2 taps that hold the mirror cover, if its broken its over.. that's why glass is remove to unlease the tap from behind. you broke the mirror by bent the glass from outside in.. with you trim tool, pry from middle as you can.. and top or bottom is shortest distance so you don't flex the mirror too much and crack.. Trust me, i cracked many mirrors before.. live and learn...

Thanks man… it sucked breaking the mirror but like you said you don’t have to remove the mirror to get the covers off.

Fitment is good on my end. I used the max hood 30lb 3M tape. It is not going anywhere
Looks great bro!!👌🏽👌🏽 I guess we are getting a future mirror install video haha
Thanks man. Yep coming soon 😂
this was the original one released by XXIItuning....before the redesign?
Yes. My details video shows the newer one and it is a lot better
How much were the carbon vent overlays? They have a set on Amazon looks exactly the same.
I put the link in the description but I think they are in the $300 range
@@WhatsyourForte so that means free for you haha
@@calimade8136 nah I had to pay for them. I got a little discount to do the video.
Looks absolutely amazing but oh man the glass…. Hey at least there’s gonna be another video :)
Thanks man… yep glass install video coming soon!! 😂

@@g.dubyou6263 yup. It’s actually harder to do this and more risky to take the mirror lens off. Also when he says “like a T20” he means “T10”. Lol

Looks sweet. Shame about the glass. It’s good that you still showed the video. Well played.
Yeah I am about showing the hood and bad so we can all learn.
I feel ya.the top fake vents on the kia stinger are 1000 for the pair lol noone makes 3m ones for it tho
Yeah it’s wild what they can charge for some things
Did you buy the carbon over ABS mirror caps or the full carbon set?
Full carbon set
Both mods look good man! When installing doesn’t go as planned w the mirror lol 😅
Thanks…. Yeah it sucked but all good
Man my heart sank with the passenger side mirror but hey it’s all good, let me know if you need one in out my way.
Yeah man… most definitely
Looks dope man! Sucks that the glass broke tho, that's the scary part about installing side mirror caps...
Yeah I usually don’t even take the glass off and just yank the covers off with a trim tool kit. I figure I should not do that on a new car 😂

Good video! I’ll try without taking the mirrow off. Liking that 7% off
Glad to help
Hearst broke when the mirror broke.
Should’ve shown the mirror tabs and the how it clips in so we know how to remove it
Yeah my camera was having problems focusing on them but I did show the location. They are just 2 tabs going around the part of the plastic.
mann.. i know the feeling on the mirrors lol. looks good though!
Thanks man. Mirror install coming soon
Nice video, sucks about the broken mirror 😕
Yeah, thanks tho
Uh oh... He's getting the carbon fiber bug... You all know what that does to the wallet.. Lol
😂 yep
Shit happens sometimes, unfortunately. More content I guess, whenever you get and install the mirror.
Yep.. glass install coming soon 😂
you guys actually like the side vents like that?
They are better than that flat black part. I just replaced with the MP ones
Looks good but damn!
Yeah 🤦🏽♂️
