- Yup, that's right, last week at Gamescom I got to play the upcoming Batman Arkham Shadow in VR on the Meta Quest 3. This video includes brand new unreleased gameplay, as well as my overall first impressions of the game.

Ask me anything and let me know your thoughts on Batman Arkham Shadow! 👇🏻
Did you played it on the Gamescom?
Is it for money or no
@@ChristianVelasquez-k8v obviously yes
This game looks great, bought my quest 3 this week…getting my “vr legs” ready for this game !! 😁
Awesome timing! And yeah definitely get ready for it. It does have some comfort options but playing it with everything off will be the best experience if you can handle it :))
I like the combo system a lot. I think it would be immersion breaking if it was based off the players actions only because not many of us can fight like Batman lol. But it basically trains your to fight like batman. Very good choice on the devs.
Yup I fully agree, it feels super satisfying to nail!
SO jealous!
Great to meet you briefly mate!
Haha you too man!
This looks great, can't wait to play it on the Quest 3.
It doooees, and me too, can't wait to jump into more of it. I was afraid it might be overhyped but it really impressed me.
cant wait to play it on OLED screens whenever meta gets around to that.
do you know how big the file size will be?
I don't have the exact size but I would assume roughly 20-30gb.
Will they let other users play the same demo for the meta store or discord sign up?
I doubt it, it was a demo that the developers prepared exclusively for a select group of creators and held behind closed doors.
How much is the meta quest, and do I need a certain one to play Arkham Shadow when it drops?
It’s a Quest 3 exclusive, so you need that one to play this, which is $599. I’d suggest you wait another couple of weeks though because Meta is supposedly launching the Quest 3S, which will be cheaper and hopefully will also be able to run this game.
@@VRManCave Thank you a lot, Arkham titles are great, hopefully this one I think the same when I play it.
@@frankamatuccio4364 The Quest 3 is actually $499. I guess VRManCave made a little typo :p. Anyways its very likely that a new headset called the Quest 3S will be released around the time that Batman is released and will probably be bundled with it for free. It will have Quest 2 lenses but the Quest 3 chip meaning it will be able to play Quest 3 exclusives like Batman Arkham Shadow. It will likely be around $250-300
How's the sound design/spatial audio?
It sounded great to me, lots of detail and atmosphere, but as mentioned in the video, I was in a pretty noisy environment at Gamescom and was just using the integrated audio on the Quest 3, so that's why I didn't want to go too deep on it in the video, since it wasn't an ideal way of testing this.
@VRManCave Ah, silly me. Glad to hear you got to enjoy the bits that came through! I'm beyond hyped to play this and glad that the BoboVR S3 has the fan, I think I'll need it after the exercise of beating up the Rat Pack 🐀
This is looking pretty cool actually
Yeah it is ❤️
How is performance? Is it stable and without interpolation of frames?
Performance was great during my demo. I talked about this in the video, but it didn't feel like it was using any reprojection.
Kool thanks👌
Sry i am scared of spoilers haha. I am very sensitive to it. Thanks for responding.
@@HairySeagull Haha no worries, I made sure the video does not contain any spoilers at all!
The buildings in arkham shadow look so small. It seems like the gliding will be trash
In the demo there weren't any super tall buildings, you're right. I'm hoping the full game features taller ones to glide from.
Yeah, I have terrible motion sickness. Heck, even just watching some of the footage you used in this video made me pretty sick. So I’m one of those people who cannot play this, even if I badly want to. 😢
The footage is with all the comfort options off, so you do have some things to help in the game's settings. And anyway you can try it, and if it makes you sick, just ask for a refund. You can do that within 14 days of purchase as long as you haven't played for more than 2 hours.
This is so cool!!!!! Can't wait to play on my ps3
I hear the PS2 version will be even better.
Just wait until the PSP version arrives. The studio has already confirmed this and are quoted as saying: "We really want to cater to salty folks who don't own a Quest 3 and give them the next best thing and a more raw experience. By duct taping the PSP unit to a player's head, you really will feel just like a bargain basement Batman while keeping your hands on the thumbsticks. Sure, you'll be headbutting a lot of household furniture and falling flat on your face but we feel this will add to the realism and immersion as Batman also takes a beating now and again."
You guys obviously have NOT played it on the station play -4
only on quest 3? no pcvr?
Yup it’s a Quest 3 exclusive, no PCVR or other platforms. I’m hoping it will eventually make it’s way over to other platforms but no confirmation of that yet.
Im not sure if this is a stupid question or not, but is it open world?
It's not fully open world, no, but you do get a sense of freedom throughout the levels if that makes sense.
arkham asylum type openess
I only have a quest 2 guess i cant play it
Yeah it's a Quest 3 exclusive, it looks way too good to even be able to run on a Quest 2.
@@VRManCaveWell that’s weird cause in my Quest 2 store it was there but said “still in development”
@Ůltraman-Édìtzz the store doesn't restrict you from seeing it, but it will not be coming to quest 2.
Wait, no meta 2 compatibility? Damn.
Nope, it's a Quest 3 exclusive. With the way it looks it would be impossible to run on Quest 2. But who knows, maybe it'll also work on Quest 3S, that would make a lot of sense with the timing of the release.
@@VRManCave I get that the game couldn't run on the hardware of the quest 2, but i bought it because i could connect my new gpu to it and run good graphics in it using my pc. It seems that developers are going to dump it anyways in favor of new hardware. What a pity.
@@tomaspalomo3495 I mean we'd all like it to be playable on PCVR with better graphics but Meta's paying for it's development to sell quests. It'll get ported, or emulated, or upgraded on newer hardware, or remastered eventually and we can play it then. Until then it's not like I dont have thousands of games on my backlog.
Looks great God bless❤
Yeah can’t wait for it!
Oh wow this game looks so good, can't wait to play the latest Arkham game on my Ps5😃
It’s exclusive to Meta Quest 3 though… 😅
Awesooooome
It really is, I absolutely loved it!!
It might be vr exclusive but atleast you can still give people brain damage
Huh? What are you even talking about?
@@VRManCave isn’t it exclusive to vr
60 dollars I assume?
They didn't say but I really hope not. I feel like $40 would be a great pricepoint for it from what I've experienced playing it.
There are no quest 3 only games
Well then this one’s the first 😄
There are now. Quest 2 hardware is too weak for bigger and newer titles.
With all due respect to your opinion...
Combat looks like hot trash...apparently ground takedowns are just repeatedly wailing on them like your a girl in a cat fight
Hey it's fine to have different opinions. I'm basing mine on actually playing and having a ton of fun. I agree that it can kinda look like crap in recordings, and I mentioned this in the video as well, that I was worried after seeing the gameplay trailer, but combat feels fluid and super cool when actually doing it.
Really hope they give us the ability to turn off those annoying numbers that pop up during combat
I do too. And I’ve seen recordings that don’t have them, so it’s absolutely possible, but just hoping it’s not strictly a developers option.
This looks great, can't wait to play it on the Quest 4.
Hahaha why Quest 4? It's coming this October :)
@@VRManCave right but I don't have a Quest 3,and I'm thinking to just wait for 2026.
There is a quest 3s coming
@@gbbenner9382 Ah ok fair enough :))
@@Charlieblood8 Yeah, curious to see if this will work on that, but I assume it will as it would be great timing!
