That was my fiancé and I at 54:27, and we were so happy we got the chance to say hi! Your tips have really helped make our vacations amazing~ We're known as the Disney Pros in our family and friend groups. 😂💖✨
As a parent to 3 little ones. I dearly miss Bug's Land. There were multiple attractions packed into a small area. Avenger's Campus does not feel "Disney" to me. It feels like it should be at Universal and the attractions are lackluster.
Thank you both for such a wonderful video! You don't know how much joy and support this channel has brought me, especially through some really difficult portions of my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Cannot wait to see the Hatbox Ghost when I go to Disneyland this NYE for the first time in 2 decades!! 🎉❤
Historically the best time to visit Disneyland was always the period right after Thanksgiving until the end of the second week of December. Weather is great, crowds are low and the decorations were the best.
We were at DCA on Dec 5, and it felt the park wasn't that "busy" which was great! We did incredicoaster 8 times, Goofy 4 times, Cars twice, and did the rest! My kids (8 and 9) loved the entire day. And sticky toffee macarons were super delicious. We live outside USA and can only visit once in a couple of years so it was worth it. Thank you DCA!
What about a 90’s Disney Afternoon land with the classic Darkwing Duck and Talespin? Those already had that 30’s and 40’s art deco style that would go well with the existing area and those of us adult that grew up with those would definitely spend our money there. Lots of characters to build around. Jim Cummings has said he’d love to do more Darkwing work on his podcast.
I strongly disagree hollywod blvd is a bad land or needs to be improved. The backlot, yes, its not utilized, but hollywood blvd is a great vibe during the day and night. I view it as an extension of the parks "mainsteet" with shopping, since Buena vista street is pretty short
Yeah you have Mickey's Philharmagic, which is great but I get why locals don't love. Then animation building which is always packed, and has 2 great stops plus a meet and greet. And you have the kids show building. Nothing at all wrong with Buena Vista street
I think it's because they blocked out the local magic keys. I'm almost positive I went early December last year. This is between holidays the tourists are waiting for Christmas or they just went for Thanksgiving.
We were in DCA about an hour ahead of you. We had great crowd levels. I did single rider on Radiator Springs and got on in 10 minutes! Our secret now, based on your park science, is to start in a park about 8:30 and spend 3 hours on our first tier ride selection. About that time the crowd levels start amping up. The afternoon & evening we do more deliberate ride selections and shop. Did DLR Tuesday & Wednesday. Haunted Mansion redo was FABULOUS!! Thanks for the videos and educational insights!!! One idea to consider in your park science is to measure crowd surges on attractions. We saw numerous rides slammed by crowds that were empty an hour later and vice versa. We’ll be back in February. Can’t wait to see non-holiday Haunted Mansion.
Just got back from out trip, we were there Tuesday through Friday of last week. Crowds in Disneyland were large but not as busy as it could have been. However ride wait times weren't bad at all, most seemed to be waiting for fireworks and enjoying the few Holiday specific aspects of the park. DCA wasn't busy at all, we only went one day because I've got small children and there simply isn't enough to do there to justify being there more than one day for us. Just thought I'd share my experience.
We were there that day and walked past you. I was so excited me and my family made it in your video 😂😂 We had a blast that day, it was all of our first trip to Disneyland. We were able to do almost every ride in DCA. And even did some twice. The food was great and we really enjoyed World of Color holiday and Mickeys happy Holidays. We are already planning our next trip to Disneyland and we just got back yesterday 😂 😂 I binged all of SoCalDads videos and yours in preparation. Thanks for the great content ☺️
The gift shop for Midway Mania is nothing worth mentioning for those who remember old school Disneyland. The gift shop at the end of Pirates of the Caribbean used to be entirely pirate themed and sold educational products as well as the usual t-shirts and toy swords. It was fascinating to browse there. Nowadays with every Disney gift shop being generic and essentially identical, we can only weep for what used to be.
Regarding the crowd size relationship by tier, you nailed it in a previous video that the rule should apply most of the year except for maybe during the holidays when people are forced to go because the holiday window is so narrow, and there’s not a lot of options. They have to bite the bullet and spend the money if they want to go, and people are more likely to splurge for Christmas. I think starting in January it will go back to conforming with your hypothesis.
In your FreshBaked Presents video where to talk about D23 and you show the concept art for Pixar Pier, there is a POSTER FOR COCO on the Pixar Promenade! So I believe you are 100% correct that a COCO dark ride was originally meant to go there and that is where it will end up.
I dont know when you were there, but I just visited Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It was busier than I've seen it in years. Both parks. Extremely long wait tims, crowded walk ways. It was uncomfortably packed. I think its time for Dinsey to stop pretending they are using reservations to manage capacity for a better guest experience.
I went Sunday and it was actually pretty manageable, much emptier than I thought it would be for peak season. We had no issues doing everything we wanted and then some 😊
@Ojaithere i went in after 4 on the Disneyland side and it was so busy it sucked the fun right out of it. I hopped over to DCA to salvage my night. I've gone the same week every year for the last few years and it's never been this busy
I was there on Tuesday 12/03 (day after this was filmed) in the afternoon and it was definitely packed. Even with Incredicoaster, Radiator Springs and Guardians all down for about an hour.
Hey David love the channel. Noticed how in 1:00:22 you said something about DL competing with epic. Just wanted to know if you made a mistake or have the belief the DLR will compete with UOR?
Was at the park on Tuesday. It was packed! But it’s holiday season, so I’m not surprised. Disney is gonna make bank with higher tier days and holiday crowds lol. Was able to get on web slingers though right after it reopened from being down. It was practically walk on!! After we got out of the ride, and met Spider-Man, the line was backed up to the Spider-Man store. So we had good timing with that one! Also, buddy pass at monsters inc saved us about 20 minutes based on the posted time, just in case people need that info lol
@ if you have 2 people in your party (usually an adult and child) you can ask the cast member at the front of monsters inc only for a buddy pass, and you can go through the exit of the ride. I think the “secret” has gotten out recently, because the buddy pass now has a line of its own :/ It used to be like 1 or 2 people in the line at a time, but now it is like 15 groups lol.
I’ve noticed often there’s a lift down in Guardians. When we were there 2 weeks ago only Charlie was working, we were waiting for over 35 minutes with LL
I am brainwashing my daughter. She is 2. TWO!!! She saw the incredicoaster line without anyone in it and she said, "there's no queue." What 2 year old knows the word queue LOL. A fresh baked muffin 2 year old, that's who! 🤣
I wish they had leaned into the Hollywood backlot and done more rides based on Disney movies that take place in California, like Herbie the Love Bug (San Francisco).
Plenty of room for expansion in Disneyland. You have a giant area between the subs, Autopia, and half of Tomorrowland is dead. Tons of space to do amazing things
Since when did cast members start handing out "buddy passes" at Monsters Inc., which turn out to essentially be single rider passes? That turned a 60 minute line into 5 minutes for me this Friday. I started looking at the line when the cast member was at the end of the line. He asked me how many was in my party, and when I said one, he gave me a "buddy pass" and told me to go in through the exit. I showed my pass to the cast member at the exit, I went in and showed it to the cast member who was in charge of the loading area. Then I waited a couple of minutes.
David is living the LIFE! What a great guy, brining JOY to all that watch! FRESHBAKED is the best Disneyland Vlogger, always has the right positive attitude. He really is DISNEYLAND!
58:27 Imagine if they put Moana land in Aulani. But, I think Moana deserves a whole land a la Cars Land. There are multiple concept possibilities. There’s a big drop into a whole underwater world of monsters and myth.
Question- love these fresh baked videos for Disneyland updates, does anyone know the an equivalent RUclipsr for DisneyWorld updates? I’m going to Disney world in February and would like to watch to videos prior.
Moana requires some water, so I guess it could go near Coco, but you cant put it out on Pixar pier since that makes no sense. I was thinking as part of a Tomorrow land make over you could utilize the Motor Boat Cruise area and part of Autopia and fit some sort of part outdoor water ride part indoor with a new show building in that area. Would help extend Fantasy land from the castle area up through Small World as it has always felt disconnected to me. And then you can spend the time to update Autopia to something better or just at least adjust the course a bit. May also require a bit of modification to the Monorail track.
In my humble opinion, when the Pier was Paradise, not Pixar, it was much better. I could buy into the theme of an old school victorian pier with Disney touches. I can’t do it with Pixar Pier. An animation studio isn’t a theme
I know what the b-roll means, but can you explain it to those in the chat who aren't familiar with what it means. My best explanation is secondary film that you'll use for your video as you're commentating on the A roll.
@@sundogbrewing You don't have to pay for rides, you only pay if you want to jump the queue a bit. That used to be free to do, you just had to walk to the Fast Pass machines, collect the ticket and wait for your timeslot. Now you can do that, but for a price and it's all on the app. It's absolutely not necessary.
I’ve been trying to get two tickets for two weeks and it doesn’t let me my daughter tried with two Visa cards and it didn’t let her I have the hotel paid already I don’t know what’s happening
I wish they would just turn Hollywood land/back lot into monstropolis like at WDW. Really would be nice to get another coaster at DLR. Especially one as intriguing as the door coaster everyone has always wanted
Went to Disneyland today, three rides broke down after waiting 45 minutes, waited two hours for fireworks and they got cancelled without an announcement. Went on Tiana’s and it felt like the ride was broken, got so wet, I couldn’t believe it was so much worse than splash, never going on it again.
Thanks for the update. I do think Avenger's Campus needs a Spider-Man roller coaster since one roller coaster is not enough for an entire park. Or build a replica of Disney's Hyperion Studio from the 1930's at the end of Hollywood Blvd. as the entrance to a Seven Dwarfs Mine ride (that's the studio where they made that film, the Carthay theater is in the park because that's where Snow White premiered). The queue would take you through the different animation departments, ink and paint, camera dept., to the screening room where you see the movie on the screen before boarding the ride.
Given what DCA has been all about since its opening in 2001, it has actually done better than expected (or deserved) over the past 20 years. Although spiffier than a Six-Flags park, for a Disney-type park, it falls short. Meanwhile, Universal/Comcast is building Epic Universe in Orlando and OLC continues to manage DisneySea in Tokyo.
I was at disneyland monday night and it was BUSY. Usually I have good luck monday nights with the park being not so busy but you’re totally right that they’re choosing disney more. makes sense it’s prettier over there at Christmas time!
I was there Tuesday and both were packed. Disneyland definitely has more of a holiday vibe so I opted to spend more time there because DCA will mostly look the same the rest of the year.
I did!! My Magic Key is blocked on Saturdays in December, so it was sit alone at the hotel that day or buy a $196 ticket to spend the day with my family. Family is all in 4 day hopper passes
1:00:00 I've heard that emotional whirlwind is going to help make room for Coco, and I've heard that the backlot--including the Hyperion--are going for Avatar. but if Coco and the Avatar ride are both boat rides along the lines of Pirates, you're replacing a pair of dogs with people eaters in both lands. that's a massive increase in capacity.
I think DCA had it right for a brief moment until they started to change Paradise Piear, Tower of Terror, A bugs life, etc... now it's back to square one. Maybe I would go to DCA if it was $60 entrance
Thought of your show as we waited in Standby for Monsters Inc and got destroyed by Lightening Lane, was about 8 p.m. thinking that ride was one of the last that had return times. Tried sharing a few items with your Instagram, but they didn’t make the cut or I’m not doing it right!
In regards to Marvel -- I don't think it is the IP that people are less excited about. I think it is the types of rides that were proposed. A motion simulator marvel ride is a Universal Studios attraction. A Stark crane attraction ride seems like it is going to cause motion sickness. Those are not comparable to Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway by any stretch. And yes, if they made a new Snow White ride based on the live action movie -- people would complain. A lot.

avengers campus > bugs land hands down

How about putting a Moana attraction in the old motor boat area near the Matterhorn which is now a long pier where people eat snacks in Disneyland?
Atleast Disney finally did something about the crowd sizes

I always thought they should’ve made Tiana’s a Moana ride instead would’ve made way more sense as a water ride in my view.
It would be a better ride but very out of place for the land.
Lol! No.
Why would they put a Polynesian ride in critter country. Are you high?
58:27 Imagine if they put Moana land in Aulani. But, I think Moana deserves a whole land a la Cars Land. There are multiple concept possibilities. There’s a big drop into a whole underwater world of monsters and myth.
I’m going December 23rd, tier 6 with magic keys blocked. Hoping to have a smooth day. Doing only DL, DCA just doesn’t give the same level of magic.

About marvel land. Marvel is stories. Tineless stories. A perfect fit for disney.
Avatar is coming to Hollywood k area, not monsters. It's the only place big enough with how much they want to
I know what the b-roll means, but can you explain it to those in the chat who aren't familiar with what it means. My best explanation is secondary film that you'll use for your video as you're commentating on the A roll.
There is the Moana water area at Epcot.. not sure they will do one in Cali.
DCA seemed crowded on Friday.
Bottled Water $4.39. Everything else is based on that pricing.
52:43 Ricky Gervais? LOL prob not
And yes, selling merch in Redwood Creek is tacky.
Very sad the pesto, pine nut pasta is gone from Boardwalk pasta and pizza.
David, you should do quick interviews with the people that recognize you. It could add another dimension to the show.
He's not super into talking to people from what it seems unfortunately 😢
What about the Ariel ride. That is the best ride ever.😂
I agree with you that they shouldn't have a kiosk in that area it really ruins the mood and ambience.
Why are there no Xmas decorations at DCA?
Hollywood backlot should be Zootopia. Monorail is right there.

First time I had a better time at DCA the day before
We walked on Space and Rise right after they opened. Only got kicked out of the Rodger queue. We didn't go on Tiana's because it was too cold.
This is what happens when they hire on who you know instead hiring on experience . Maintenance crews have no idea what is going on to fix theses rides
You went on a water ride and got wet and felt like it was broken?
Thanks for the update. I do think Avenger's Campus needs a Spider-Man roller coaster since one roller coaster is not enough for an entire park. Come here for the park updates, stay for the loathing of horribly placed merchandise carts
@freshbaked and I have the same LEAST FAVORITE stage of the Midway Mania game - the aliens!!! I hate that part LOL
Thanks for that handshake!
Storytime with Deadpool is Awesome! I hope they do keep that in the budget. 🙏
I think DCA had it right for a brief moment until they started to change Paradise Piear, Tower of Terror, A bugs life, etc... now it's back to square one. Maybe I would go to DCA if it was $60 entrance
Maybe the more expensive days ate crowded because people don't think many people will go on those days and lines will be alot shorter. Just a thought.
Thought of your show as we waited in Standby for Monsters Inc and got destroyed by Lightening Lane, was about 8 p.m. thinking that ride was one of the last that had return times. Tried sharing a few items with your Instagram, but they didn’t make the cut or I’m not doing it right!
I watch you instead of Housewives now lol
I've been to DCA/Disneyland 4 times this year never seen it slow
In regards to Marvel -- I don't think it is the IP that people are less excited about. I think it is the types of rides that were proposed. A motion simulator marvel ride is a Universal Studios attraction. A Stark crane attraction ride seems like it is going to cause motion sickness. Those are not comparable to Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway by any stretch.
And yes, if they made a new Snow White ride based on the live action movie -- people would complain. A lot.
