    I am so glad I saw your video, many times when people saw diode can't cut white acrylic and I didn't try it until I see your video. I just succeed cutting my white acrylic. Am so happy and want to say a big thank you for this video it inspire me test it up.

    So for your start and stop problems you can create a lead in/lead out path. For the circle for instance you can start the cut in the center of the circle and draw a line to the circumference. Then all the garbage cutting is in the blank cut out and not in the finished areas. This is how sheet metal cutting is done on industrial lasers for production runs

      Wow, thank you so much for sharing that. I will try it tomorrow.

    Can you explain what you mean by masking
    And what acrylic cleaner do you use

    • @SarahNenniDaher
      @SarahNenniDaher  2 месяца назад

      Cleaner: Novus plastic cleaner (I picked up the entire set on Amazon).
      Masking: there are different types of masking, but it's basically just to protect the acrylic from a couple of things: scratches and kerf fusing back after being cut / engraved.
      Most acrylic will come masked, sometimes with paper cover, sometimes plastic. I always remove the plastic and will sometimes remove the paper.
      Masking can also be dish soap (Dawn) to protect the acrylic from the kerf settling back on it after cutting. You just put a thin layer on, let it dry, cut/engrave, and then clean it off. I'll have a video on Saturday showing when/why to leave masking on for certain projects.

    Can you etch on white acrylic

    • @SarahNenniDaher
      @SarahNenniDaher  2 месяца назад

      Theoretically, yes, however, it would be invisible unless the core is a different color (two tone acrylic/color carve acrylic).
      You could engrave in order to paint fill, however.

    Fun project, but I really wish you would have explained the acronyms because I’m thinking of getting a laser. Unfortunately I didn’t understand what you were saying with the numbers and acronyms 🫤
    Forget my comment because I found your videos on your laser machine…thank you ❤️🤗❤️

      Oh just let me know if I can answer questions. I LOVE these lasers (really) but there is a bit of a learning curve. Just let me know if you have questions before buying - I'll tell you everything I have experience with.

    I have a 30w blue diode laser- will it cut white acrylic using your method?

    • @SarahNenniDaher
      @SarahNenniDaher  5 месяцев назад

      I think that it is worth a try. I do know that the type of acrylic matters - look for the glossy 3015 white from CMB, as that seemed to be the winner. The matte white wasn't as successful for me.

    ever try this with an F1?

      No... but only because I don't have one. LOL If you try it, let me know. I want to add an FI to my laser pool but it will be a few months yet.

      Oooh honestly, I’m not sure. You know there is an M1 group on Facebook and I bet you could try their settings!!

    Hi. How could you cut white acrylic with a diode laser? I am reading everywhere that diode laser cannot cut white and clear acrylic.

    • @SarahNenniDaher
      @SarahNenniDaher  5 месяцев назад +1

      I think - keep in mind, I'm no expert - that it is a combination of the type of white and the right settings.
      There are people with a 10 watt diode laser sharing in the M1 group that have cut white, as well, but it took like 7 passes.

      Thank you. I made some research and I think that you have an infrared diode not a blue diode. That probably explains it. I just bought the Creality Falcon 2 40 W recently. I was disappointed when I learned That blue laser light cannot cut white, blue and clear acrylic at all. And my main interest is in white and clear acrylic since we work on architectural models at my office. I think that you have the XTool S-1 40 W, 1024 nano m red laser light, which is not yet available here i Canada :). Or if I am not right, can you please tell me which model you work with? I am considering returning my Creality. Thank you for you reply. I subscribed to your channel, I find it very interesting.

      No worries,@@josephskaff3503 You got it - I'm using the S1 40 watt blue, diode laser. I'm currently testing the P2 (xTool's CO2 laser) and, to be honest, that thing is designed for acrylic and cuts like butter. I'm not sure if you've looked at that, but if your focus is acrylic for the architectural models, I'd definitely check it out.

      @@SarahNenniDaher Hi, may I know if the laser machine you used in this video is the S1 40W BLUE diode laser? As noted by the comment above, BLUE diode laser cannot cut through white acrylic unless you're using a CO2 laser? Thanks.

    Why is this the only video in existence of a diode cutting why acrylic

    • @SarahNenniDaher
      @SarahNenniDaher  3 месяца назад

      Hahah it’s definitely not the only one. I only attempted it because people were sharing in the xTool Facebook group.
      Most people aren’t going to try using a diode to focus on white acrylic because it greatly depends on the casting and settings.
      I tried many different settings and white acrylics to get a decent edge. None worked except Custom Made Better 3015 glossy white in 1/8th, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t more.
