      Thanks, SD is slightly warmer than cali central coast but I it’ll be alright, you may need to water a bit more though.

    Did the burlap pull any of the roots out?

      Yes when I was pulling it dry,. almost none when I sprayed it with water.

    After i dethatched my front yard last summer, I put Pete moss over the seed and watered once per day. I'm about to do my backyard and will be buying a compost spreader.

    Question: does ask for single seed account for a single blade of grass? Or does a single seed produce a clump of grass?

    Your lawn germinated pretty fast even without starting fert! Or did you put some down but didn't record it?

    • @ShortCutLawn
      @ShortCutLawn  4 года назад +1

      I didn’t, i usually put it down a couple of weeks later.
      I explained it here on this video 👍🏼

    i notice you did not use starter fert or fert of any kind. Any particular reason?

    • @ShortCutLawn
      @ShortCutLawn  5 лет назад

      Yes I don’t use it during seeding or overseeding. It could impede germination if applied too heavy in some spots. To minimize the risk I apply starter fert 3-4 weeks after full germination. (Seeds don’t benefit from ferts but young and growing grass plant does).

      @@ShortCutLawn ahhh ok good to know! Thanks you! Trying my own renovation now. Seeded 3 days ago. I am already getting nervous that it wont germinate lol.

    Do you use any Starter Fert?

    • @ShortCutLawn
      @ShortCutLawn  5 лет назад +2

      I don’t during seeding, it could delay or stop germination if I’m not being careful and apply too heavy. So to be safe I apply it when grass is about 1-2”

    • @shion_lwn
      @shion_lwn 2 года назад

      @@ShortCutLawn good info! I wanted to ask this as well. Also the timing of Burlap removal and starter fert. So my understanding is to rove burlap when baby grass is about 1-2", then apply starter fert, then first cut is at 3". I hope I got tht right from your videors.

    New subscriber and really enjoy your videos. Is the Bluebank a new cultivar? I don’t recall seeing it on their website last year and is the burlap a lawn grade or basic burlap? I’m sure it’s going to look as awesome as the back.

    • @ShortCutLawn
      @ShortCutLawn  4 года назад

      Thanks Ron 👍🏼 Seems like a basic burlap, i bought them from Lowes. I bought the Bluebank last year from seed superstore but I don’t recall seeing it back in 2018. They would take it down from their site from time to time whenever they are out of stock.

    Great job and I like the burlap. How long are you keeping the burlap on? The burlap keeps the seed from washing away if you had a hard rainstorm. Great video
