My wife, Debbie, and I were at this bucket list concert. All the artists were so, so good, across the board, the best of the best. I was transfixed throughout.
Truly a “super group!” It must have been magical for every member on the stage. I don’t know how they were able to go back to their regular gigs without feeling some sadness.
An impossibly good band. Two generations of the best bluegrass musicians going. Oh, to have been there. The audio and video here are excellent; but, nothing ever like being in person.
I saw the core touring group of Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, Stuart Duncan, and Bryan Sutton on the left coast in Carmel about a month ago with 4th row dead center seats and they was freekin AWEsome. I would have LOVED seeing them with the additions here of Sierra Hill and Molly Tuttle and Billy Strings.
They actually split the tour with "core groups", before this. You saw the 2nd half, but the first half of the album tour was Béla with Sierra, Moses, Cleveland, Sutton, Schatz
When I saw the thumbnail in my RUclips algorithms for this I thought it was like those tiny toy models of people you can get, I guess for say, if you had a big model train set? Little figures of people you might put in scenes in the train set dioramas? But then I realised who it was so of course have to listen to this amazing music!
Saw Sam and Bela in the early '70s with Newgrass Revival, discovered Sierra as a 10-=12 year old, Molly and Billy were in our most watched guitarists the last few years. And they're all together on one stage. Crazy talent. Sierra and Molly's voices sound sweet together. ,
Thanks for posting this. The great thing is that they all get space to play. There's no ensemble playing to match Bluegrass. If only there was a release of the full show.....
Now go search for Tony Rice, Sam, Bela, Jerry, with Mark O'Connor on fiddle and Mark Schatz on bass. Probably 30 years ago at DelFest. It's way beyond great. Look for them performing Freebornv Man. The masters are always the masters.
i swear to god that music is all the poor old US of A has going for it in these days of impending neo fascism. so go billy , go molly go sierra go michael and the the other pensioners onstage . big love to you
The faq is I could only fit so many names, unfortunately as many people know his, but sure if not for him theoretically that album/show would have never happened
Surprised Mark O'Connor was not included. After all he was instrumental in bring so much to all of us who love Bluegrass. See what I did there with the instrumental....Oh Steve go home.
Not including Justin Moses in your title lineup is a crime of omission. Best multi-instrumental sideman I have ever seen with the possible exception of Mark O'Conner
I'll blame SEO. Can only fit so much and gotta name Bela, Sam & Jerry. Billy, Molly & Sierra also have way more people searching their name than Justin
Btw, this is what it sounded like to us in the audience as well, I was sitting pretty far away, but it was still amazing to witness. Just never been so angry at people for clapping before (especially since I'm usually a clapper myself)
@@dj_rare80 He might have done it to make room. But you are right, they were NOT SHORT ON TALENT. Amazing that Bela was able to draw all this talent together. Truly the best of the best of current players. Having Billy Strings AND Bryan Sutton, heirs apparent to Rice. Mind blown. Cleveland, Duncan, Meyer, Douglas, Tuttle, Hull and the Major of Telluride Sam Bush. I would pay GOOD money to see that crew.
@@mf5202 besides for Béla himself (and since Thile isn't in this vid), the one other person on the stage that is like holy shit what's going on right now is Cleveland. He came to my hometown with Flamekeeper last year and tore the place to shreds
@@dj_rare80 My version of listenable would have been recorded on something other than a bottom of the line android phone from somewhere closer than the nosebleed seats. You DO know, DJ, that some videos just dont belong on RUclips. Pirated videos of someone elses work arent among them.
I don't see Bela Fleck. I see Tony Trishka, not sure who the banjo player in the blue shirt is. If its Bela he died his hair and grew a mushtache. Well it maybe him. He is gray now with a beard. Been a while.
I can appreciate bluegrass. But similar to the blues, after listening to it for half an hour or so Im ready for something else. Not that some of it does not transcend, but I find most bluegrass to be formulaic cliche and derivative of something better that has already been done by someone else. Its a traditional foremost but not really evolving much as a musical art form.
Ha seriously, you took the time type all that out to somehow prove how cool you are as if any mainstream genre of music or art isn't formulaic & derivative?! When there's actual original artists/virtuosos/prodigys on the stage in this one, who happen to be playing a old traditional tune to close the show of their new, mind bending, evolving bluegrass album You may want to look up some of the names first and then report back if any of their original music isn't breaking new ground
The future of bluegrass is bright folks 🍻🍻

Wife and I flew in for this and the 9/11 monument from Mn. Worth every second
The lineup of a lifetime! Great capture of all of them.

Billy has come a long way and is always great
Masters of the Bluegrass Universe - heartbeat strong!
Don't forget Michael Cleveland on the fiddle - the best ever
Cleveland is amazing, but Mark O'Connor is not from Earth.
Stewart Duncan is better than both. Just depends upon whose style you prefer
@@mf5202Mark? Is that you? Michael Cleveland would bury Mark O'Connor.
@@phife1878 where does Curly Ray Cline fit into this?
Every one on that stage is among the very best musicians today, or ever. They are the masters.
There has to be a federal against having that much talent in the same place at the same time. WOW!

Holy Mega lineup Batman. 🤙🤙
Love his singing
What a line up!
The amount of pure Real Raw Talent is almost overwhelming but in a groovy kind of way ! Thx for post
Pure American, pure awesome! If that doesn’t get you going it may be time to check out of here

I must have been seated just to the right of you. I’m glad someone caught this on video. Thanks for posting it!
The great Jimmy Martin would’ve been proud, phenomenal version of that great song. Incredible talent on that stage.

Saw Sam Bush (Newgrass Revival) at the Mole Lake Indian reservation Bluegrass Festival Wisconsin near Rhinelander about 1979
You folks are amazing!!!
So much great talent on one stage.
Keep em coming 🎶🙂👌
Bluegrass super group!
Love 😍 it....
I like how Bryan Sutton got the biggest applause.

Hot damn!
And the unequalled Michael Cleveland on fiddle.

Brilliant!
Good times!
When you've got so much talent on the stage, you tell Bryan Sutton to just go hang out in the back row and strum some chords.
First class!!
The guy in the grey sport coat isTony Trischka, who gave Bela banjo lessons.
Yep! could only fit so many names in the title
🔥🔥🔥
Can’t wait for Telluride’22
That looks like Tony Trischka on the Banjo. Why didn't they mention him? Sounds GREAT!
The faq is I could only fit so many names, unfortunately as many people know his, but sure if not for him theoretically that album/show would have never happened
you forgot to list 12 time IMBA Fiddler of the year Michael Cleveland (second from the right)
I mean I wish I could have fit all their names in there, I have other vids of him too if you wanna check them out
Surprised Mark O'Connor was not included. After all he was instrumental in bring so much to all of us who love Bluegrass. See what I did there with the instrumental....Oh Steve go home.
Sorry, just not as many ppl searching his name as some others
WOW
Nice 😎✌️
YEAH Michale CleaVLAND
I'm gonna wear this out.

Stuart Duncan!
Billy is the young Luke Skywalker of bluegrass
Did they pass the audition?
Sure would have loved to have been there
Missing Royal's vocal on the 'hear you calling me' line
Dang
I hope there is video and audio of this performance done by the crew out there somewhere. This phone video does not do it justice.

Oh Lord!
Be hard to be any better!
GOOD LORD
Not the worst lineup you'll ever see. Plucked and bowed basses - classy!

This is history in the making but the audio setup is not enough for the acoustics of the venue .
Jesus h christ that lineup...If you dropped a bomb on that stage the entire bluegrass world would disappear..:)
Is Tony Trischka the second banjo player?
The one and only. I get to see him play a local theater, 10min walk from my house next month, can't wait!!
is there a listenable recording of this somewhere?
I believe different people have different definitions.of listenable, so I'm guessing in your case, no there isn't one

Only a little overkill , yeee haawww !!!!!
billy strings can do a good war pigs
Did y'all miss Bryan Sutton??

They need more talent on that stage......
Tim O'Brien!!
Lil Wayne on the guitar!
This camera angle makes this look like something from Night at the museum movie lol.
I'll take that as a compliment, never saw the movie but love the people that made it from Reno 911
Where was this?
The most famous venue in the country
Amazing match up - this sound guy just couldn't win though in that space 😂
I was pretty far away as well, it is so much bigger than I realized, but yea this is true to what it sounded like for me
Billy seems to have away of always getting things fired up
But no, let’s make Copperhead Road the state song.
I swear. People try their damndest to ruin everything with clapping
I mean its def even more of a thing with bluegrass, but yes they also echoed more in Carnegie
GREAT players..... everyone.....poor sound. Too much echo. Still enjoyable....the players are all that great.
