This was fairly easy to complete. I purchased the TRQ part from Amazon. I didn't remove the door panel to get access to the rods. I chose to use the existing connectors on the rods, since they were already in place and in good shape. The new door handles works great!
Just did this today. Great video, was very helpful. Yes, its T-50 for the seatbelt bolts. If your handle id broken, take out the two mounting bolts and twist the whole mechanism.
Thanks for the video. Just did it in 15 20 minutes. For anyone doing this. Make sure your clips are all the way on the bar towards the bottom of the thread so it gets the best bite.
Buy the part. Take off the 2 bolts holding the handle. Pull out handle. Flip the clip off. Take off the other clip. The 2 bars inside if you pull down on the top one and up on the bottom one the door will open.
F.Y.I. I have a 2001 GMC Sonoma. I got the inside plastic off the third door while the door was still closed. Open driver's door and open the latch on third door window. Begin by prying the plastic off at the door opening edge. Next, get in the truck. Work your way across the top of the door above the window by tugging while grasping the plastic that is already away from the right edge of the door. Just be careful not to break bend and crack the plastic. My door plastic easily came off along the edges of the top. Next pull the plastic away from the left edge and bottom edge. It was not very difficult to do once I decided to get a little aggressive with it. My problem with my door is where the rod attaches at the lower end of the bottom rod. At the bottom of the door. The rod will not pull up because there is something wrong with that lower mechanism. Still, even with the plastic off the door, it is not easy to get to that lower mechanism. My door is stuck closed. I hope this info helps someone else.

How do you open the door to remove the panel if the handle is broken ?
How do you get the 3rd door open if the handle doesn’t work?

I replaced the broken opening handle without removing the panel. Replaced plastic junk with billet aluminum.

Interesting using red threadlocker as you removed without heat.

the bit you used for the seatbelt is a T50?
T30
Think it is, I used a 1/4 hex bit and worked perfectly fine
Anyone know the size of the mounting bolts? Installed my own off amazon, but didn't come with bolts.
Does anyone know what size threads those rods are ?
Bless up. 🙌🏽
