- The Halal Guys brand started as a hot dog cart on the streets of NYC in 1990 eventually evolved to include Halal menu items. If you don’t know what Halal is, it means that the food is prepared according to Islamic law. That’s how the chicken and gyro over rice was born.

Halal food means the animal is blessed before its sliced by the neck with a very very sharp knife so the death is quick and painless, they cannot sharpen the knife around the animal and they are not aloud the blood of any animal to be there when they kill it . Its literally the best way

When I was at school, I went to lunch with my friends to halal guys for the first time. I didn't know anything about except that it was halal. When I ordered my regular plate I said to put some hot sauce, when I ate the hot sauce, it was like me seeing death. It was SO painful to the point where I had to LEAVE school and go home.

Love this place in London! All started with 3 guys from Egypt coming to NY looking for jobs and they couldn’t find jobs they were qualified for. Thank god or The Halal Guys would have never been founded ❤️

Fun Fact! : we call the felafel sandwich ''Tamiya" in the middle east. Its really an amazing snack to go... If you just want something light and fast before or after a study class.
I eat Halal Guys probably 2-4 times a week.
Warm pita smoother with hummus, add rice and chicken, lettuce, tomato and onion... add falafel for a texture crunch... drenched in white and extra red sauce and recently dipped in their bomb BBQ sauce.

I love Mediterranean food, especially falafel. Both the sandwich and the platter look unbelievably good! And I've never had baklava, but it looks amazing. "You put more than a drop, you're gonna die." 🤣 Haha, the way you jumped up and got that water after the first bite of red sauce had me cracking up, man! Would you say the sauce is spicier than the food you tried when you went to Thailand?

Yo, this place is in the Dallas area, and I do love this place. Perfect blend of food. Wish they used more spinach than the other lettuce. I'll just being it home and mix it all up myself. I recommend this place to anyone. Yum yummy.

Just had Halal Guys like a few months ago in nyc . A platter is enough for lunch and dinner if you dont want to stuff yourself . I usually kill it in one sitting if im starving , white sauce is awesome , hot sauce is no joke its spicy ! . I was literally in tears the fist time i had it 10 years ago , a lil goes a long way lol

Davidsbeenhere don’t fall for the “fake” halal guy carts. The original and authentic one is on the north west corner of 56th street and 6th Avenue after 7pm. Across from the Hilton hotel in midtown. The other corners at that same intersection also have Halal guys carts, but only during the night.

I dont know why but i love it without the sauces although my Cousin just Pours the Sauces on the combo. New york was so much Fun and i always miss that city and its where i had this amazing food and many lovely cuisines.I Always will have a soft corner in my Heart for New York city. Lovely Peoples, the diversity, the chaos and the hustle n bustle, the foods.....Ohh Man.....I love New York city and I Miss it so so so so so so much.
i wonder that hot sauce can be mixed with the veggies and a little white sauce...will not be too spicy then, just enough to give a kick...and i love shawarma sandwiches...they are tons of flavours specialy with melted cheese inside...yummm, david i know how u can keep that body, after yesterday's workout vid and today's pigout platter...no wonder it all balances out

I ordered a regular platter from Halal guys... the server asked how many lines of hot sauce I wanted. Asked for 4.. and was asked multiple times if I could handle it and if I was sure. Yes I'm sure, I've been eating halal guys for about a decade. 4 lines was just a good amount to give it a nice kick. (Lines as in.. from one end to the other of the container in a straight line) Hint to anyone who wants to try it.. mix well lol
