Then why does a brand new ball which is equally shiny on both sides swing??? For a new ball it all depends on the direction of the seam. The seam is tilted at an angle (say slip or leg slip). Incoming airflow always encounters a smooth surface, and on one side glides on the smooth surface while the seams trips the flow on the other side making it turbulent...that's what creates the boundary layer to separate differently. For slightly old ball conventional swing and reverse swing, I agree with your explanation.

@@fnuvikas8883 When the ball is new, in conventional swing, when the seam bifurcates the air, the air from the smoother side flows faster and leaves the contact with ball early. This creates low pressure and so air from surroundings move towards the smoother side to fill this gap; so the ball experiences a push towards the side that is relatively rough.
But when the ball becomes relatively old, both sides of the ball are rough and air will flow turbulently from both sides, but the team members ensure that one side of the ball is still slightly smooth as compared to the other super rough side. So now from the super rough side air flows with THICKER TURBULENCE and so it leaves contact with the ball first creating low pressure and surrounding air flows towards the ball giving it a push towards the slightly smoother side. This is the science behind reverse swing delivery.
What is new to me here is the term THICKER TURBULENCE. Quite fascinating!

man what we had learned was the bernoulli principle where the explanation was opposite to what you just said. The principle stated that where the speed is high the pressure will be low and rough side will have slower air speed as of more friction and higher pressure and ball will move from rough towards the shiny side and i think this was an example in the physics book where bernoulli principle was explained. Now which statement is correct? Can anyone with the knowledge of physics explain this?

Reverse swing is generated mostly by the distribution of the weight of the ball. The shiny side is applied saliva continuously which makes ir absorb and increases the weight of the shiny side. Reverse swing is more of a dip towards the shiny side and is less dependent on the roughness.
