This is the recommended first stage to go to considering how easy Yammark is. Though, the Nightmare effect I ended up here doesn't make things any easier. __

Once again, props to MegaQuint for having the balls of doing this stage with the darkness instead of the rain!
The obvious first stage to tackle. Best power-ups. Easy stage. Easiest boss (feel bad for Yammark since you can actually send his dragonflies back at him, damaging him if it hits him), and best special weapon for X (especially the powered-up version). You don't need Zero for this one, you can wait to unlock him. And (of course) no hazards...yet.
Speaking of hazards, they are,
Rainy Turtloid's rainy weather.
Infinity Mijinion's darkness from hell.
And of course, the rain is the way to go. But for the alternative path, the darkness MIGHT be better as that alternative path requires air dashing over bottomless pits. Rainy weather would make that detriment. But seeing that there are no hostages or power-ups on that difficult route, I'd say it's not worth it. But if you want to check it out anyway,
1. Don't enter Turtloid and Mijinion yet.
2. The easy way is to use the Ultimate Armor cheat code, and Nova Strike to get up there. Or,
3. Kill Blizzard Wolfang first (have fun dealing with those ice blocks without Zero or the Blade Armor), and use an Ice Burst (normal shot) to jump up into the upper path when it splits at the halfway mark.
Remember, once a hazard is installed into a stage, you cannot remove both of them. It's back and forth between one or the other for the rest of the game.

@@danielmaynard239 - Actually, I'd say that Wheel Gator and Crescent Grizzly are easier than Chill Penguin. Heck, FLAME MAMMOTH is easier than Chill Penguin!

I found Commander Yammarks stage to be way harder then he is, also judging from Yammarks physical appearance you'd probably expect him to be a good guy.
He's a sympathetic heel. Also, his stage is harder than him? Yes; but it's still an easy stage overall as long as you don't rush through it like with any stage.
If he crashed and died? Was he made aging?
it kinda gives a new sense to the phrase "a shot in the dark"
Key is not to enter this stage after Infinity Mijinion.
Is it odd that the theme for this stage sounds more like Feudal Japanese music than the actual stage that takes place in the Mega Man version of Feudal Japan? Or is it just me being a hack?

Someone at Capcom deserves a slap for thinking this damn darkness effect was a good idea.
And to make matters worse I have never found a way to use the Ray Arrow to counteract it. The only other weapon that can't counteract the effect that the weapon came from is the Meteor Rain counteracting the rainy weather.
You see, the boss responsible for a hazard effect, his weapon/tech can actually destroy the effects. Here's the list:
-Yammark Option destroys Metal Flies.
-Ground Dash can destroy some crates (watch out for the red ones as there are explosives in those), and push others if you stand next to it.
-Magma Blade can destroy fireballs, but not really worth it since they are raining from above, and the Blade is a horizontal weapon.
-Ice Burst can destroy the ice floors.
-Metal Anchors destroys steel blocks, probably the most obvious one.
-Guard Shell can neutralize viruses.
But I've never figured out how to counteract darkness with the Ray Arrow, and counteract rainy weather with the Meteor Rain. If anybody knows, tell me.

Oh no the nightmare effect! Do you know how to say no to it and have a stage with no nightmare effect?! You return to the stage where it started (for ex if it started on shield Sheldon to get rid of it you have to play his stage again)
It’s still going to infect other stages, there’s no turning it off
Uh, Nightmare effects can happen anyway if you clear a certain stage beforehand
Yeah, that's how you get rid of it in Turtloid's stage. For Yammark's stage, you need to go to Turtloid's stage
Try doing this stage first BEFORE entering Turtloid (rain) and especially Mijinion (darkness).

There's a lonely reploid with a subtank that you only achieve after half of the game's reploid rescued and than Alia says" There are many reploids to save..." Oh really? LOL
And that reploid has the best *limited part* in the game. The *Life Recover.* Best of all, there are no tentacle monsters nearby to posses it.

Another dumb name from Capcom's Japanese offices regarding naming their X and Zero bosses. If this game wasn't rushed, then Yammark would have been renamed to Commander Dragonfly...or a member of another rock band like, say, Zack de la Rocha from Rage Against The Machine.
