@Stephanie Smith Glad the video helped with the rules! Dragon Shield matte sleeves are my go to for sleeves. A bit expensive, but I think they are worth it.

At 16:20, I've learned (and I think you have too) that the draw three tokens can sometimes be a detriment. I hate to draw 3 and then end up discarding them.
@Tony Bowers I'm with you on this one, drawing 3 tokens isn't exactly a good thing. There are occasions when it helps, but going through the bag quicker sounds good, but then it might take a turn away from you. :)
I just bought this game but haven't had a chance to play it yet. I'm excited about it but hate learning a new game from a rule book. Thank you for the great play through. It was very helpful :)

I just picked this up with expansion and coin capsules
Me again. :-) At 23:00 I've been playing it that way too. A damage token the boss stays. Not sure if that's correct, but it makes sense to me, especially after I looked at the abilities on some bosses.
@Tony Bowers Good to know. Didn't see anything in the rules, so it's my "home" rule until told differently. :)
Correct me if im wrong, but the vengeance attack symbol means that it does damage directly to your hull and bypass the shield. Great playthrough overall! :D

you are right. that symbol under the Vengeance ship means it attacks the hull and you do not discard a token for hull damage.
This game looks good at first glance but is, in fact, fantastic!

@@seandornan-fish7510 Me too. It was getting a lot of 'hype', and I typically don't go for the super popular games (I look forward to playing only about 15 out of BoardGameGeeks top 100 games), but this one definitely fits me.

Thank you for making this video! ❤️ I just bought this game and it seems very good. I do a question: when creating the enemy deck, aren’t we supposed to take cards only with the species symbol shown on the top right corner? 🤔
Thanks for watching! Each mothership goes over how to constuct the enemy deck. Hope that helps!
I recommend emptying your hold every turn so you don't forget you have it. It also can be a reminder that you've drawn 5 tokens and filled enemy slots.
21:55 you forgot to add 2 enemy arrivals (with the energy, I'd probably use your skill card to stun all of them and then take out one)
23:29 clearing all enemies means you would have taken 6 points from the mothership (probably need to avoid upgrading all the lasers so you don't clear it unless you have an energy in the hold to immune damage).
24:35 you don't shuffle, you drop the unchosen skills to the bottom of deck so you don't see them again.
28:45 should go in bag (doesn't affect the game due to warp).
32:32 in addition to drawing only 4 tokens, you forgot to add an enemy arrival.

@@DaletheCasualGamer Sure you didn't, warping does strange things with a pilot 😏 And that CAM-54_YT device that you used to record your space journey, also doesn't help I imagine. But the end result was worth it 👏🏼
Good play through. Will you be doing any playthroughs of the other Motherships? I can beat most of the other Motherships, but for some reason I am struggling with The Hydra (even though it is supposedly the second easiest to defeat).

Great video! What sleeves did you use? Im considering sleeving my cards, but i want something that can for sure all fit in the box.
@DevilsArms I used Dragon Shield clear matte ... but had to cut some of the insert to allow them to fit. Hope that helps, and happy gaming! :)
Thanks for the playthrough. Have yet to read the rulebook. So long as you can stun or hit with your laser the ships do not attack?

At 22:00 I think you skipped Step 1-Enemy Arrivals. If so, it's no biggie. I'm sure it's difficult to comment, film, and play. I just play and still mess up just about every game. :-)
@Tony Bowers Yep, forgetful Dale. I've definitely gained a larger respect for other content creators that do full playthrough's, especially solo gamers. :)
There's a lot to keep track of. That's a large reason why I chose "Casual" gamer. I'm not so much about competitive gaming, but all about teaching the basics of a game and having fun. :)

I just got Warp's Edge + Anomaly, thinking about deluxing it a bit. Do you recommend the playmat? Or should I get the premium tokens?
I’m using the same coin protectors. I find that not all power token will fit the storage tray to your right? What are you doing with the rest?
I keep some in the bag, and had to cut the insert for the sleeved cards to fit. :)

@@arthureames9715 That size was a bit tight, so I won't be getting them back out without ruining the tokens. But they "feel" great.

Hi Dale. Love the play through,you’re one of my favourites. When you say the coin capsules won’t go back in they way they should, What does that mean in terms of storage? Do all the tokens not fit in the trays of does the lid not shut flush etc? Also if 25mm is tight would 26mm be better and would they fit in the trays?

They don't fit in the trays the way they were meant, so I put the ones that don't fit in the bag and lay it as flat as I can on top of everything else. Box still shuts fine for me. I would think 26mm would work, but not sure. The manufacturer does have a pre-order for the kickstarter hard tokens on their website, I just don't know when they will ship. Hope that helps! :)

I wonder if I can use it for my other games now haha. Also picked up Wasp for Marvel Champions, can't wait to see your future videos!
@@mathew1891 I also use those coin protectors on both of my Arkham Horror games. And I thought Wasp was postponed for release until at least the end of next week! I hope mine shows up soon. :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer I heard that too but then I checked my local shop and they had a few, I was able to get one of the last ones once they filled in their preorders. First looks, she seems to pair best with Ant Man with a few cards that give her boosts with him and is probably ok solo, but strong in a team. Right now it is impossible to track down the Rise of Red Skull where I live :( Your play throughs are getting me my fix till they get them back instock!

Hi nice covers for tokens is it cases for gold or silver coins?
Just regular coin capsules. I think 25mm (don’t quote me on that size though).
Wait? If you can’t draw 5 tokens, doesn’t that end the warp? Or only when the bag is fully empty?

@@DaletheCasualGamer I'm sorry, I don't understand... At 28:22 you draw only 2 tokens because you have just 2 tokens remaining. So you had to draw more tokens but couldn't... So warp should end immediately and the 2 tokens should return to the bag with all the others except hold, no?
How is replayability with this game without the expansion? Game looks very fun. Perfect for week nights!
@Kobus Brits I'd say with the different fighter ships to use and "boss" enemy ships there is variability along with the different smaller ships that will randomly be in the deck. For the money, I expect to get more than my money's worth out of this game and can actually see this game finding a permanent spot in my collection. Hope that helps!

@aSypohodias Still in my collection. Solo only, great bag builder. Like many of my games, they don't get played enough, but I would highly recommend it for solo only play. :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer I'll probably pull the trigger. $90 for the game plus 2 expansions and playmat/deluxe tokens seems good enough.
Mostly cause it looks quick to set up and get going which these day is what I need!
question: can the R chip activate a skill card that's been exhausted?
No, per faq on bgg. But it can be used to activate an Ongoing ability without getting removed from game.
Which is where it will really effective :)
At 10:05, can you put more than one token on an enemy?

@Henrique Ribeiro It's still one of my favorites from 2020. The difficulty would be based on which alien spacecraft you use, and if those are too easy for you, you are a much better pilot than I am. :)

@@henriqueribeiro4954 For solo games and replayability, there's really not much out there that can complete with LCG games like Marvel Champions, Arkham Horror, & LOTR. I definitely play this more than any other game. Before this it was Marvel Legendary, which I still enjoy multi-player, but don't really pull it out for solo play.
@@DaletheCasualGamer Agreed. Too many bones and Paper tales w/ expansion are my other 2 favorites. (this games fill my top3).

@@henriqueribeiro4954 The "Premiere Supporter" gets early access to most videos, so you get to see things earlier, sometimes a couple days, and sometimes months before it goes public.
