  • We have the first in a series of 7 holiday project video tutorials for you. One each Saturday from 7th November to 19th December 2020. All the projects are quick and easy so you won't get bogged down trying to finish sewing before Christmas!
Today we have a fully digitized face mask which is made completely in-the- hoop of your embroidery machine.
Here is the link to the free design: www.digitizing... (Courtesy of The Deer's Embroidery Legacy)
Here is the link to the Janome Life blog post today: wp.me/pWsKp-85g
FIRST: we show how to make some edits in our Artistic Embroidery software to the face mask design to customize or personalize it for our specific holiday or festive needs.
SECOND: we show you step- by- step how to embroider the 2 hoopings at your embroidery machine to complete the face mask.
These will be lovely gifts for your friends and family this holiday season.
And the bonus is that you can use scraps of fabric and they are quick to make. Maybe 10 -15 mins tops for 1 mask! I have made literally dozens of these in-the-hoop masks fr my family already. They fit well and I have fun making them. Win...win...win.

Hi Liz, can you tell me again what stabilizers were used for these masks? Thank you, Jayne

Sure, I used a light to medium tear away stabilizer. Madeira Cotton soft is a good choice.

      Hi Suzanne,
No written notes for this specific software exercise which was the editing of an existing digitized design. We specifically made a video here as that is what many people have told us they want. However we have other Janome Life blog posts where we HAVE provided written instructions. For example: the 2 Saturday blog posts last month ( October 2020) on how to digitize a sleep mask. We have also just offered a 3 part series of comprehensive classes ( online) on Artistic Digitizer through our Janome Canada dealers. We offered this 3 times during October and we will repeat this in January. There are comprehensive PDF instruction notes but these classes are paid classes so we only provide the notes to those who attend these classes. I have listed participating dealers several times on Janome Life blog so if you might wish to attend these classes, may I suggest you Follow Janome Life blog and more information about the January classes will be published in due course.

You are going to need to tell me more if I am to assist. What have you attempted to do? Did you rewatch the video where I located the snowflake symbol and then inserted it onto the mask? I believe I showed all the applicable steps. But if you tell me where you have got stuck, maybe I can help.
