Excellent choices. Mido and Tissot are pretty quiet brands that offer great watches, I use to own one of each years ago and never had a single problem. Great video.
So I couldn't include all the watches I wanted to mention, but I certainly mention a good amount. Please like and subscribe if you enjoyed this video, it was a lot of work to put together. I imagine doing a part II at this price point so please offer other watches that I missed that should be featured next time. Thank you all so much for watching and for continued support!
Teddy you are making the Seagull and the Baltic out to be very different watches when both of them are powered by chinese ST19 movement, a collumn wheel chronograph made in China with the patents and machines that used to belong to Venus but were bought out in the late 60’s when it went bankrupt
You know what might be cool is if you do a series of currently made in the USA mechanical watches. Aside from RGM, who else is out there if I want an American built mechanical watch?
Excellent presentation. Plenty of (the right kind of) information presented efficiently and clearly. It's about the most information packed into the least amount of time I've ever seen on RUclips. So many watch presenters waste endless amounts of time stammering and telling personal stories, when all we viewers need are some facts. Carry on!
Thank you this is very helpful I’ve been trying to do as much research on the best bang for the buck for a men’s watch $500-$1500 I’m still left with the choice between Movado , tissot , longines, tag huer, Hamilton , mido etc. .. need some help any suggestions? I’m trying to stay in the Swiss watch category
Decent list and breakdown. The German brands (Stowa and Junghans) own this price range for my tastes. Sinn owns the slightly higher market. That said is hard to forget the 1521 500m Squales on your list of divers under $1k though. Incredible bang for the buck for a Swiss diver (goofy logo and all).
Teddy, have you ever checked out the small, German brand Marcello C? I purchased their automatic diver, the Nettuno 2, back in 2003. I've been enjoying the watch since then and it's one of the most worn pieces in my collection.
Good choices. The only one I own is the Victoriknox Maverick and a year later have to say I'm very happy I took a chance on it. It gets more wrist time then my Omega or MontBlanc.
Sure, he could have presented the obvious, e.g., Seiko divers and Orient dress. But I appreciate his focus on the less immediately obvious choices. But then, I watch this sort of thing to learn something, rather than to confirm what I already think I know. As for the Hamilton Khaki, perhaps this is an obvious everyday or field watch choice, but I'm nevertheless glad he reminded me of it. It truly is a great example of its type. On a slightly different note, I would like to see more discussion about mechanical, non-automatic dress watches. Here's why: I rarely need to wear a dress watch and when I do, it's only for a few hours at a time. Therefore, having to wind it is not a problem - especially if there is not date complication (which is entirely unnecessary for such use). And, non-auto means thinner, which is great for dress. ------ Quartz? Unless it's solar, no thanks. Thin watch = small battery = frequent replacement (and it's usually dead the evening you reach for it before going out for dinner) = reduced water resistance after battery replacement...
I'm new to the beauty of watches. Mechanically as well as aesthetically. I'm enjoying the 'long game', learning before I buy. Therefore I've watched many RUclips channels, listened to several podcasts, and gone to innumerable websites. I find your channel one of, if not the best. Good job. Very good job!
Nice job and no one should request more than you were able to offer here by your honest recommendation of 30 watches in a 13 min video. Thank you for mentioning the Baltic. Their watches are lovely looking. I’ve been fancy the Helios Co. for a while and the Helios watches you mentioned are beautiful, they seem to be very well done and aesthetically pleasing. Victorinox really highly good value for the money and the Miso Ocean Star is also looks amazing. The first Tissot chronograph you featured is stunning, however I personally not fancy the Tissots by some reason but it just must be my fault. Seiko Sarbs are perfect looking daily watches, using reliable movements. At the price range you selected, all the watches represent great value for the money and as you mentioned there are plenty of others to may notice, but comparing to reviews which are analyse only just one watch I think you did a great job here. Thanks ;) If anything is strange in my english I do apologise. Greetings, Robert
I loved this video! Definitely didn't know that much about Mido so thanks for sharing. Interesting like everyone else that you didn't include Orient bambino or Seiko divers - but at the same time everyone knows about them so it was nice to see something different for once. Cheers!
Any SMALL and SLIM mechanical watch? Something like the (previous generation) 34mm(Diameter), 8.5mm (Thick) Longines Le Grande Classique Automatic. The new one is 36mm and too big IMHO. The movement is the excellent and very small ETA2000-1which allows them to slope the sides in and reduce the apparent thickness of the watch. It's a good value too at about $1200 in stainless. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of a sweep second which kinda wastes the smooth 28,800 bph action and encourages you to go with the 5mm thick Quartz version which also has an excellent 13 Jewel ETA 282.001 movement.
Teddy - what do you think about Junkers? They have a sudamerika expedition series I really like - automatic and quarts versions. Just curious if you think these watches are worth it, or not.
Anyone know where to find the sarb033 at around the price point mentioned? I cant find any around that price anymore and the cheapest brand new one that I’m finding is round the 1000$ price point and dont really wanna buy a second hand one. Any help would be appreciated
mohammad khademi if you mean the Alpinist SARB017 you can find it at Amazon for around $500.00 USD. If you DID mean the 033, I apologize but that can also be found on Amazon.
Great List! Just on a side note, I own the Junghans Max Bill featured in your video. But mine is the hand winding version. You can pick that up for around $700. Also the sarb 035 and 033 have also been discontinued by Seiko. Prices are heading north so don't sleep, Grab One!
Hello, I bought the Alpinist a week ago and I want to change the strap, the one on it from Seiko is terrible and it ruins the watch, what leather band did you use for it? if you can send the link, that would be lovely, thanks!
Hey man, I change my straps quite frequently. I would suggest you check out the video I did on the best places to buy watch straps. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/XudEMQkkGww/видео.html
I would like to add graf zeppelin lz129 or Junkers Bauhaus 6060 to the dress watch list, they are absolute beauty, and I am a sucker for power reserve indicator
Hi, embrace yourself for a long comment. Here is a comment with both praise and a suggestion for a video. First I have to say great videos, it is fun to stumble upon channels starting to grow. I might not be the typical viewer since I am not looking for having a collection, but I watch since i find it fascinating (yes I am a big nerd). I own one (working) watch, and the process to ending up with it, started with deciding on what characteristics my watch would need. (Similar to how you do it I think). This gave me an idea for a video you could do, which might be undereeprested in the community. "The one watch collection guide". Personally I decided that the watch would need to be astetical pleasing, easy to read the time, sturdy, timeless, luminescence, automatic and having a chronograph function. This is a lot if criterias. I ended up with the new Victorinox Airboss Chronograph with a dark grey dial. This was the perfect choice for me, but another person would probably end up with a complete different watch. So back to my suggestion for your video, you could structure it around a one watch collection, but based around different lifestyles (and of course prize range). Though you probably will not read this comment, I wish you good luck and keep up with the great content.
Great video! I have variants of 3 of the watches on this list. The Visodate, the older Khaki Mechanical, and a Frederique Constant Classics Index-303BN5B6B. One watch that I would have on a second one would be the Hamilton Jazzmaster Day-Date.
Hmmm I will consider Tag for my next video. I imagined including Tag at the 1,000-2,000 price point more. Great recommendation for the Bulova Moonwatch as well.
I am honored that this will be a reference for you. I plan to make another list for this price range so be sure to subscribe so you see it once it is released.
Hey Teddy, FYI the sarb line has been discontinued, great inclusion but, sadly, they are going to go up in price and scarce in the coming months. P.D. Amazing that you included mido! I love that brand, and yes, here in Mexico is it very popular.
Yeah really unfortunate that the sarb line has been discontinued. I think they all provide great value and their unique sense of charm. Mido is a really interesting brand that I only learned about in the last few months. I really enjoy the look of their watches.
Hi Teddy! As usual, a very nice array of interesting and affordable watches. I always know that your channel provides honest and reliable information. I await your posts with anticipation, even this one which is 2 years old. Thank you for the information!
In this price range I'm currently torn between 3 watches. The Hamilton Murph, Glycine Base 22 Airman Purist, and the Hamilton Jazzmaster black dial GMT.
I love your video, is not about spending 10k or 20k but rather about finding a watch that is going to have purpose and fit. I own Rolex GmT2 (circa 2005), casio and Sinn U1 fully tegimented SDR series. My casio was $52 and i love it just as i love my Rolex.
Really great looking watches. I am not a big diver fan so it is hard for many to get my blessing. They are difficult to find since they are made in limited supply. They just launched a preorder campaign a few days ago if interested.
Hi Teddy!! I discovered your channel today and i am amazed by the quality and content of your videos! +1Sub! I'm thinking of buying a TAG HEUER Formula 1 41mm WAZ1112 What is your oppinion about the watch? Do you think it's worth it?
Teddy, what is your take on Sinn U1 T-sdr. I like that is tegimented from bezel to bracelet. What can you tell me about movement, reliability and keeping value overtime.
Just found your channel about a week ago, and I am really enjoying your videos! I am looking to purchase a Swiss made automatic ISO certified diver, and I have researched a lot of choices. Trying to decide between the Certina DS action diver, the Mido (similar movement in the Powermatic 80, which you reviewed in this video) and the Longines HydroQuest (also reviewed in this video). I do love the turtle on the back of the Certina, and the 80 hour power reserve is very appealing, but the Longines dial appeals to me more. I would primarily wear this as an everyday watch. However, I would use it occasionally for swimming and diving (but not to more than 100 feet). Which of the three would you recommend? I already own 3 Tissots and 2 Alpinas, so I am looking for something different.
I provided Seiko some love in my previous video of under 200 dollars. I know there are plenty in this price range that I didn't mention, but I felt they were too obvious of choices. I have grown to have a love/hate relationship with Squale (I own one), and I felt that most Oris watches fit better in the 1,000-2,000 price range. I love Oris and they will certainly get love when the time comes. Christopher Ward certainly deserves to be mentioned in a part ii.
Armando, I have been sick with the flu, but I want to thank you for watching my content and for your comments. Your support means the world, my friend.
I gave seiko and orient more love in my previous video I made for a lower price point. And like I mentioned, there will be a part two. I felt seiko and orient were too obvious of choices.
I agree, Seiko divers are known specifically to have their best pieces in this price range. For example the Seiko SBDC 053 is a great Drive watch at approx $650-700and way better than several divers on your list. Sumo, turtle, tuna, the list is extensive ...
i'm sorry but if you think Seiko was an obvious choice then it should be on the list or change the title to "30 watches $300-$1000 except Seiko/Orient. the list is very good though but not fair. cheers.
Patrick Chip that is a bummer. I saw some used on eBay when making video just over a thousand. It was a bit of a stretch to get it in this price point, but it is so stunning. Love that watch.
I think you definetly missed a very good watch in this price range, the sinn 556i which retails over 1k but can be had under. My favourite is the red seconds version. Love the content!
A watch I strongly considered. I felt they have grown to become an obvious choice in the price range so I decided to highlight some other brands first.
do a quartz only quality watcbes from $200-500. need time accuracy in my world, so no autos. or how about a vid for guys with small wrists: 37mm & under
I've got myself the blue dial Seiko Presage and I love it! Accuracy seems to be great with +/- 3s faster a day. The dial is gorgeous and it's a dress watch I can even dress down a bit on my bund strap.
Field watches are so boring. In the diver section, loved seeing Halios. You should take a look at the Aevig Balaur. An awesome diver especially at it's price point!
NimsChannel yes, I have not held or owned all of these watches. I think most people understand that fact. However, they are all from well respected brands and my aim was to just point people in the right direction for them to continue to do their due diligence in determining what watch is right for them to buy.
Teddy Baldassarre Gettin mine this week. I have 7inch wrist and I hope it doesn’t feel to big. I have Orient Ray at 41.5 mm and enjoy it, but every watch wears differently. Thanks!
Hey Teddy, I inadvertently came across your Sep & Dec 2017 videos. Great content. Your style/demeanor/delivery was all your own...and the subtle way you presented the watches w/ the background music kept me drawn-in. ...just want to encourage you to "Be You"...don't get caught-up in the hype-videos. Your Dec 2017 vid has 89K views--its because of your refreshing, well-spoken & confident presentation. ...like your Alpinist w/ Nato strap...favorite is the Junghans. Be well. Peace.
One of the best comments I have received since making videos; thank you so much, my friend. I hope I can count on your support as I continue my journey. That Junghans is a looker, no doubt.
I always enjoy your videos. Orient dress and divers would be a good addition to your list. One suggestion: use the proper pronunciation for Bauhaus. I know you were told about it after one of your last videos. Keep up the great work on your lifestyle videos!
I might be hearing you wrong, but I thought I heard an 'r' in your pronunciation. www.pronounceitright.com/pronunciation/bauhaus-3176. But I still love your videos; great job for a young person.
Fantastic video and content, I’d love to see a $1000-$3000 video on the same categories as well as a $3000 -$6000 and above. Keep up the great work 👌🏻
You know what might be cool is if you do a series of currently made in the USA mechanical watches. Aside from RGM, who else is out there if I want an American built mechanical watch?
No citizens ecodrive? SMH great bang for the buck!
Teddy has come a long way. I am do happy for your progress

So many watch presenters waste endless amounts of time stammering and telling personal stories, when all we viewers need are some facts. Carry on!
You sir just addressed the main problem I have with watch commentators on RUclips. I am all about brevity in my content.
Thank you this is very helpful I’ve been trying to do as much research on the best bang for the buck for a men’s watch $500-$1500 I’m still left with the choice between Movado , tissot , longines, tag huer, Hamilton , mido etc. .. need some help any suggestions? Hello,
Link where you can buy the Seagull 1963?
A good place where you can buy new and used watches for Europe?
Thank you.
I totally agree with you on Stowa and Junghans. I love german watches!
Love the variety of brands! Learned about new brands I didn’t know about! Great Job Teddy, good to see the channel growing.
Thanks for watching again my friend and happy that I was able to feature some brands you were not as familiar with.
I like the design of some of the Tissot watches but the lettering "Tissot" on the dial looks so cheap that I wouldn´t wear any.
Yeah, it somehow just bugs me. Their website also looks very sketchy
Sure, he could have presented the obvious, e.g., Seiko divers and Orient dress. But I appreciate his focus on the less immediately obvious choices. But then, I watch this sort of thing to learn something, rather than to confirm what I already think I know.

Hi Alex, thanks for watching. Yeah, you pointed out my reasoning. I wanted to feature some less obvious choices than the traditional players.

How do you feel about Invicta watches? Have you ever done a video on them? Hype or worth it?
Angela Villani some of their watch models are pretty good and offer good value for money.
Watching this in 2020, where SARB033 is now at USD800! At least from Japan to my country. But I recently got the SARX045 and I definitely love it.
Anyone know where to find the sarb033 at around the price point mentioned? I cant find any around that price anymore and the cheapest brand new one that I’m finding is round the 1000$ price point and dont really wanna buy a second hand one. Any help would be appreciated

Teddy - if you could also include the thickness of the watch in the dimensions (eg) 40 x 12mm
I'm actually pleased to see no Seiko divers on here. Not that I dislike them but it's nice to get some alternatives for once.
What do you think of steinhart watches? I would think they would fit here.
Any opinion on the Marathon GSAR Medium Automatic? It's a 36mm 300m Water Resistant Diver with tritium lume retailing for about $680 USD.
Roamer searock or rockshell?? What do you think teddy??
Would love to see part 2 😊🙏
Some quality content here, Ted! Keep it up!
Thank you, my friend.
Great show ...no Seiko SKX on the divers. Thank you.
Great video! I have variants of 3 of the watches on this list. The Visodate, the older Khaki Mechanical, and a Frederique Constant Classics Index-303BN5B6B. One watch that I would have on a second one would be the Hamilton Jazzmaster Day-Date.
There are some decent Tag's around that price point. I figured you might have mentioned the Bulova Moonwatch as well.
Hmmm I will consider Tag for my next video. I imagined including Tag at the 1,000-2,000 price point more. Great recommendation for the Bulova Moonwatch as well.
Not many around anymore but I got hold of a Swiss made automatic Bulova Accu Swiss Chronograph for around 400 dollars or less.
Do you like Bulova watches? I've never seen you mention one, would like to hear your opinion :) Thanks
It's more of a fashion brand, but at least they sometimes use Japanese movements.
Its too big for him
GREAT SELECTIONS....WELL DONE. I WILL REFERENCE THIS VID FOR FUTURE PURCHASES

I love your video, is not about spending 10k or 20k but rather about finding a watch that is going to have purpose and fit. I own Rolex GmT2 (circa 2005), casio and Sinn U1 fully tegimented SDR series. My casio was $52 and i love it just as i love my Rolex.
Loved the Halios mention. Never heard of them, will definitely check them out!
+1Sub!
I'm thinking of buying a TAG HEUER
Formula 1 41mm WAZ1112
What is your oppinion about the watch?
I would recommend the Movado sport 0606545, its 1k .
What are your thoughts of linjer watches ??
What about the Edox Les Vauberts Automatic dress watch??
I would choose a Squale, Steinhart, Seiko, Christopher Ward, and Oris dive watches before any of those on your list.
Giosaurus Rex -all of this⬆⬆⬆
I provided Seiko some love in my previous video of under 200 dollars.
Teddy , you are an amazingly classy and well educated young man .
Armando, I have been sick with the flu, but I want to thank you for watching my content and for your comments. Your support means the world, my friend.
Definitely a good list and guide for everyone... 👍
Great content with useful information. Keep up the good work.
How do I focus on Swiss made movements omly? No Chinese please.
Amazing job
No Orient and Seiko in the value for money divers watch category? Woah. Assuming you'll include them in the part two.
I gave seiko and orient more love in my previous video I made for a lower price point. And like I mentioned, there will be a part two. I felt seiko and orient were too obvious of choices.
They don’t deserve much love. There are plenty of better options. Seiko is good but not great
I agree, Seiko divers are known specifically to have their best pieces in this price range. For example the Seiko SBDC 053 is a great Drive watch at approx $650-700and way better than several divers on your list. Sumo, turtle, tuna, the list is extensive ...
Could have included the new SZSC Seiko Monster 003\005.
i'm sorry but if you think Seiko was an obvious choice then it should be on the list or change the title to "30 watches $300-$1000 except Seiko/Orient. the list is very good though but not fair. cheers.
Hey Teddy, Great video! Quality Content
Thanks for watching, Zach.
Con you review the Orient Polaris GMT .... Please ?
Love that Alpina Heritage diver. Can’t find it for les than $1,300.
Patrick Chip that is a bummer. I saw some used on eBay when making video just over a thousand. It was a bit of a stretch to get it in this price point, but it is so stunning. Love that watch.
Great video, keep up the good work.
Can't beat a Hamilton Khaki Field.
@Noggsy joggsy watches yeah exactly, prices are too high for what you get
Love mine!
Good video. Best wishes from Adrian in Sheffield England.
Thanks for watching, Adrian. Best wishes from across the pond to you.
2018 Tissot Seastar Powermatic 80?
The khaki field auto you showed was actually the 42mm, speaking as someone who accidentally ended up with the 42mm instead of the 38mm!
the glycine golden eye gets me a lot of compliments
Great watch! I have actually owned that watch in the past. Just too big for my wrist :(
I love all dress watches in this list.
Nice demonstration , hope you will include 38 mm chronograph dial watches🆕
I think you definetly missed a very good watch in this price range, the sinn 556i which retails over 1k but can be had under. My favourite is the red seconds version. Love the content!
I love Sinn. I was planning on giving them more love at the next price point instead of this one.
i would say christopher ward tridents are good at this price range and you can even pick up some gmt models.
A watch I strongly considered. I felt they have grown to become an obvious choice in the price range so I decided to highlight some other brands first.
Good Review.
do a quartz only quality watcbes from $200-500. need time accuracy in my world, so no autos.
or how about a vid for guys with small wrists: 37mm & under
electroboy if you want accuracy go atomic. There is talk that the atomic clock will go away but I don’t think so anymore.
Disappointed you didn't include the orientation sun and moon in the dress watches list
How about Gavox?
I've got myself the blue dial Seiko Presage and I love it! Accuracy seems to be great with +/- 3s faster a day. The dial is gorgeous and it's a dress watch I can even dress down a bit on my bund strap.
Hey great options you have proposed. A good mix.
You have my attention with the Baltic, Halios and No Logo.
Very good video, Teddy!
I really like your new hairstyle.
Thanks for watching and for your support with the slick back hairstyle haha.
Seiko probably makes the best dive watches for this price range.
Field watches are so boring. In the diver section, loved seeing Halios. You should take a look at the Aevig Balaur. An awesome diver especially at it's price point!
I will add the Aevig Balaur to the list. I cannot say that I am familiar.
What about the Seiko SARX series?
LOVEEEEE THE CONTENT!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much man! More to come!
These are my recommendations for watches to buy but I doubt I've ever held?
NimsChannel yes, I have not held or owned all of these watches. I think most people understand that fact. However, they are all from well respected brands and my aim was to just point people in the right direction for them to continue to do their due diligence in determining what watch is right for them to buy.
Teddy sei italiano ?
Wait why is the presage 3250-400, is it a typo?
Did you enjoy your Glycine combat sub?
I did! Just too big for my 6.25 inch wrist.
Teddy Baldassarre
Gettin mine this week. I have 7inch wrist and I hope it doesn’t feel to big. I have Orient Ray at 41.5 mm and enjoy it, but every watch wears differently. Thanks!
No problem! You should be golden here. It is a great watch. Which dial color option did you go for?
Teddy Baldassarre
GL0076
Black dial grey bezel.
wsrush1985 awesome man! Enjoy it!
Nice video Beddy Taldassarre, I'm surprised you didn't include the Mickey Mouse watch with the moving hands. That watch gets all the ladies!
😂😂😂😂
Have you considered doing a Q&A? Would be really interesting, cheers!
Seiko always sell quality product
you have missed CH. Ward c60 and c65 or gmt models.....
Please do a review on our snkl41 is very nice watches
Rock on! nicely done
That first Stowa is a thing of beauty. I ache for it...
So stunning!
Panis Angelicus yes you put it together with a fiddly little key...
LOVE this video! BUT you skipped Christopher Ward : (
Mido Ocean Star in Blue.
I was also wondering if you can also recommend lists of electronic watches :)
I tend to be an analog guy, but I will certainly add that to the list of videos to do!
I really wish the Seiko alpinist would come back at 350$ . . I want one so bad but I can't find one under 500$. So disappointing.
I always enjoy your videos. Orient dress and divers would be a good addition to your list. One suggestion: use the proper pronunciation for Bauhaus. I know you were told about it after one of your last videos. Keep up the great work on your lifestyle videos!
Thank you, my friend. Did I not say it correctly in this video? 🤔
I might be hearing you wrong, but I thought I heard an 'r' in your pronunciation. www.pronounceitright.com/pronunciation/bauhaus-3176. But I still love your videos; great job for a young person.
I appreciate it, my friend. I will make sure to enunciate a bit more and ensure that it pronounced correctly.
LOL. www.dictionary.com/browse/enunciate
Hahahaha dammit
Glad to see at least one Victorinox made the list....
4:30 $3250-400
That Halios looks great, I love the non-black divers. I'll have to look at one of those
Now it's the time to a 2020 version :-)
But only new brand watches please
