That was a really rough kitchen and you guys made it look great. Excellent attention to detail. Your videos are packed with so much information. I really appreciate you putting it together.
Just subscribe, I don't understand how I haven't found your videos before when I searched on RUclips about cabinets until I googled searched appolo precision 5 and your video came up. Oh how your videos could have helped 8 months ago lol.
I love their finishes, been using for a couple of years, we have a graco finishpro 9.5 and a capspray 9100, with graco gun, and a couple of titan guns. All yield great results with pretty much all the General Finishes products. Sooo easy to adjust for.
Thanks for these videos... I love that you took the time to talk about your process in such depth. If I see one more video with someone painting their cabinets with chalk paint I think I am going to puke. WHY is it harder to find these types of videos on RUclips?!
kathleen cox no problem and amen about the chalk paint 😂 As for the videos there are a couple but they are difficult to find. I tried to make easy keywords here for people to find but without sharing most people would never find them
fateswarning129 thank you. It’s an allegro 8” fan with duct hose. I would suggest getting at least a 12” fan. The 8 worked but a 12 would pull a lot better
Hey great video!! Because of the camera angle I am not sure of the correct angle to gently pull the tape so to not damage the drywall, ect. So what angle do you pull the masking tape off?? Thanks Jim
Greetings Michael. I've found several local dealers who handle GF poly -- but only in white, black, and clear finishes. The customer I'm working for has chosen a custom SW color so I think I'm locked into either using BM ADVANCE or SW's competitor product, EMERALD urethane. Do you have a preference for either of these products? And, if so, do you you have any advice on spraying it using HVLP (FUJI minimite 4)? The product will be applied to pre-finished kitchen cabinets that have been well prepped (planning on using BIN for my primer). Yet another VERY informative video!!!
John Bernard the white and clear are both tintable to sw and BM colors, you basically want to find someone that has basic tinting ability/color knowledge and ask them to tint it for you. If you pry open the white poly and pry open a can of SW emerald, the color is real similar I’d guess. You might want to call around to find someone to tint it for you, your BM dealer will be able to do it, sherwin should have the capability as well but both may not want to as you didn’t buy it from them. As for my pick between advance and emerald 🤷🏽♂️ I’m not a fan of either. Both would need reducing to be sprayed through your hvlp I’d imagine, I’m not going to be much help with them as I’ve only tested them on trim and not cabinets. I guess I’d go with the emerald simply because of the quicker dry time if you have to use one of those 2, but that’s just my opinion
Thanks for watching them William I hope they are helpful it’s www.amazon.com/3M-16054-PPS-Adapter-18/dp/B0020K5I28 The large PPS cups and liners should pop up as frequently bought together when you look it up

James Quant I have 2 guns setup with the 3m pps large cup setup. One is an old accuspray gun and the other is the Apollo 7500 gun. I dedicate one to primer the other to Topcoat
Hi Annette! On this one I used my old accuspray turbine. We upgraded to the Apollo Precision 5 with remote pot and 7700 gun. It’s pretty amazing and I highly recommend it. I have an unboxing video on here
Joe simpson we typically do not unless we are running multiple projects. But it’s ok if you do, just need to make sure to clean the gun very thoroughly between products
Pintor The Pintor I have sprayed the white and clear poly tinted on many kitchens 2-4 coats depending on the color depth, and it has held up very well. This one i did not clear and had a bad batch of poly. Had to go back and clear it
Do not leave those red lids on the poly more then the time to pour it, it breaks down the plastic, I know, did that mistake with a can of white poly, turned it pink. Called manufacture, it is not intended for certain paint products, because it will break it down. I love mine, I store my paints with them, but, I seal them with plastic wrap and a rubber band too to make sure they do not dry out, Easy clean up too. Soap and water.
nick dunse I can’t find your extraction comment but we are using festool midi and festool ct22 for dust extraction. If you mean ventilation we use a 8” inline industrial fan with expanding duct on it to vent out a window. I would get a 12” though as it isn’t the greatest
@@MichaelCraine sure I was the same stuff as car sprayed for LVHP is nice they did adapter for HVLP for PPS is good stuff easy to use and don't need this stupid air valve with is the most annoying thing in HVLP gun. Graco edge 2 is something similar to PPS also no air valve :)

This is awesome, love this series. Is that a rockler finish straining stand?
Great video! Thanks for sharing this. So have you tried and if so how did you like air assisted airless spray gun systems for painting cabinets ?

Would you use Bin primer on oak doors?
did you thin the black? looks awesome!
douglas robert no. Straight out of the can
Michael, what primer do you use for non-stained cabinets where tannin is not an issue? Do you just stick with BIN?
Terry Dickens I usually keep it consistent with bin however I have had great results with XIM UMA Extreme Bond Primer as well
Is 220 sandpaper OK after CoverStain primer?
Hi Michael I love your videos. Can you tell me exactly the pps system cup for the Apollo gun? Thank you
Thanks for watching them William I hope they are helpful

Thank you.
What turbine did you use?
How long did you go between each coat, ie, primer to poly, and poly to poly?
At least an hour
What top coat would you use if you were spraying the kitchen white?
Levi Boyd usually like to use self sealing products where topcoats aren’t needed. It is important to make sure the products used reet well for durability. You should check out @ericreason here as he goes over product testing extensively and coined the term #testdontguess
Did you tack cloth and vacuum between finish coats?
Pintor The Pintor yes both. Always want to keep the particulates down as much as possible
Where can I find that type of gun where can I buy it thanks awesome video!

do you use the same paint guns. did you clean the primer gun in there kitchen

Top job that.
Is your exhaust fan fire rated? Alcohol can be nasty.
what size tip for the general finishes. thankyou
James Quant 1.3 as well. You from across the pond?
do you shoot the primer and finish coat with the same gun
Joe simpson we typically do not unless we are running multiple projects. But it’s ok if you do, just need to make sure to clean the gun very thoroughly between products
Michael Craine Thank you I’ve just become one of your newest biggest Fan
did you have to thin down the bins, if so what was the amount
James Quant no, I’m spraying the bin with a 1.3mm fluid tip and needle, no thinning required for me.
@@MichaelCraine What tip size did you use for the finish coat, was it thinned? Thanks!
Pintor The Pintor 1.3 mm fluid tip and nozzle. Did not thin the product. I would highly recommend clear coating if you ever use the GF Black poly
