You can still kind of tell. Whenever they add fog, 99% of the time is to mask matte painting. The overall lighting is also very far from reality, like a moody "serious" tone. It looks mysterious and badass on screen but it's very far from reality which you can use to tell if it's 100% real or not.

@@SchizoEroticist good color correction can achieve those looks without needing to be 3D. Offline renders can fool you if they want and that comes from a 3d artist making a living on producing architectural renderings
