    Grandma always told me to crack eggs into a separate dish. Nothing worse than taking a bite of food to crunch down on a piece of egg shell. Great video. Waiting for my new Ninja Foodi to ship. Going to give your recipe a try. Thanks.

      I've always been told that about the eggs, not just for the shells, but just incase there is something wrong with the egg, it wouldn't ruin the mix if cracked into a separate glass or small bowl. Great video though, please do more.

      Home pressure cooking I wonder if I should get it I am so interested it in. My Air Fryer I have to be so careful because it can Dry things out.
      I thought if I Pressure cook first The Food will be moist and Delicious just Needs the Slightly Crisp feature would give me a better result.
      So I might simply try this.

      Don’t feel bad, I got the 8 qt instant pot a week ago then saw the new ninja foodi and bought that few days ago... so I am looking at both and trying to decide which one going back...I did cook rice in both of them at same time...both came out great. I have not try the air crisp in the ninja yet.... just wish that the ninja foodi was bigger in qt and stainless steal. I am worry later that the ninja will start peeling off inside. So there pro and con on both of them. Who knows,,,I may keep both of them...lol

    Can I make a Duncan Hines Devils Food Cake Mix in the 8qt. Deluxe Foodi using the same pan? I also noticed you did not preheat the foodi, but all the recipes I see it says to preheat. However your video is the first I've seen using a boxed cake mix, so I don't know about the preheating. Your cake looks delicious, and this was a great video. I'm not a good enough cook yet to make a lot of stuff from scratch, and then having to buy a lot of different spices, and pans for all that. I like the easy to make box stuff for now.....Someday I will try somethings from scratch though.

      Hi Theresa, I understand your thought process as being a newbie. In fact, when I made this cake in the Ninja, I was a newbie too and that is why I wanted to go simple. I go simple a lot regardless. NO I did not preheat the Foodi for this cake and a lot of times I don't. I may wind up adding an additional 5 minutes to cook time for not preheating, but most times it always works out.

    I received my bundt pan today and immediately made a cake using a Duncan Hines Classic Devil's Food cake mix. I see you used all the batter, but I had to stop when it was 3/4 full. I set it on Bake for 25 minutes, after preheating the pot, but it was ready after about 19 minutes. I should've used less batter because, as I thought, the cake overflowed. It did turn out fantastic, though, super-moist and light, but I'm trying to understand why it took less batter and time than yours. Did you preheat the pot?

    • @noraalvarado8758
      @noraalvarado8758 5 лет назад

      No, I didn't; however, I did use an electric whisk instead of mixing by hand because of my carpal tunnel syndrome. I have to say this was the best cake ever. I will continue making it the same way because it was indeed the best cake ever; I was just wondering and I sure appreciate your prompt reply. I love your videos and I see I'm not the only one who appreciates them. Keep them coming!!! Thanks, Debbie.

    • @Homepressurecooking

      No they won't be the same. You will more than likely have an uncooked middle. I have never done a whole cake in the Ninja on bake option. I would set your time to 325 and half way through check your cake and put foil on top. You may have to add extra time as well.

    I have the same unit as you have, used the same box, used the same ingredients other than the extra chocolate chips, but added by accident 1/4 of oil, instead of 1/2. I set it for 30 minutes at 350, bake mode. The results was very disappointing, cause the bottom was never cooked. It was almost like chocolate icing. It was certainly edible, but it never raised high as yours did. I used a bundt pan. Cannot figure what went wrong. I don't believe omitting 1/4 more oil would have made the difference. In fact, the way the bottom turned out, more oil might have made it worse. Mind you, i am not blaming your recipe...I just was wondering if you have any thoughts on my problem. I certainly going to try again at sometime.

    • @Homepressurecooking
      @Homepressurecooking  4 года назад

      Hi Anthony, cakes are tricky on bake mode in the Ninja Foodi. I personally like them on pressure cooker mode because they are no fail most every single time. The pan you used is probably the issue. Mine is carbon steel and light coated. I recommended you getting a cake tester and always can add more time I’d need be. I’m not sure why people remove the cakes before double checking that they are finished. I don’t think the oil made that much of a difference either. It boils down the type of pan.

    • @noel888
      @noel888 4 года назад

      @@Homepressurecooking I should have mentioned that the cake was Pillsbury devils cake. It does say on the box about additional ingredients to prepare cake mix per package instructions, which are not included in the package...just the cake mix. The soft chocolate section looks like what a frosting would lookl like, so I am wondering if that is why part of it came out looking like the box cover shows. I will call Pillsbury and see what they say...thank you.

      Interesting. As crazy as this sounds, I always use Duncan Hines. I’ve found there is a difference in the mixes and hands down Duncan is better in my opinion.

      @@Homepressurecooking I used a 7" pan (ordered per your link) and made a standard 15.2oz cake mix. Unfortunately, I think this cake pan can't handle the full mix as mine overflowed through the inside tube. I think next time I'll use a little less mix.

    • @Homepressurecooking

      Could be the way it was mixed. I had mix only. I use a whole cake mix all the time in this pan. Not sure what the troubles could have been, but yes next time use less and use the remaining batter to make cake bites. Yum

      There is a “bake” option and an “air crisp” option. Two different functions. Bake is like traditional baking in the oven while air crisp is the get that crisp to your foods at the end.
