    Hey guys, great video as always.
    I wanna share something about those drinks you got at the stall as a native Taiwanese. The “maqaw” is actually a kind of spice often used by the Atayal tribe. We also call it “mountain pepper”. I believe the scientific name for it is “litsea cubeba”. You often find it in aboriginal sausages or savory stir fry. Of course, you can put it in drinks, just like cinnamon or masala.
    Also, if you see people driving, riding a moped, or fishing in restricted/tourist areas, it’s just the aboriginal people going about with their daily life.

    • @JayandKarolina
      @JayandKarolina  10 месяцев назад +4

      So interesting! We had no idea about the name for this "black pepper" type but realised it was the same one used in the Taiwanese Rice Sausages that we had later on in the video! very fragrant and tasty!
      From one side it it's nice seeing all the people enjoying coming to their region, but o the other hand, I guess it might be quite frustrating for the aboriginal people 🤔

      Great 😍 We’ve made our guide as well with tips and all important info to remember before you go and whilst visiting the country, so if you’d be interested here’s the link: www.buymeacoffee.com/jayeshchhaya/extras.
      Hmmm it might be too much just in one day! To really get a feeling of a place you need couple of hours and all the things you’re thinking of are not located super near to each other 🤔
      If you like nature, we would definitely spend at least 2 days in Taroko National Park. Jiufen is quite small so you’d only need half of a day but including the nearby attractions like the Jiufen Goldore Museum or hiking up the Keelung Mountain, and of course getting there takes time too, so it would cover the whole day!
      Unfortunately we haven’t been to Yangmingshan National Park but as far as we know it’s quite big 🤗
