I never miss every episode of your videos! Every episode of the video will bring me a lot of surprises! I really enjoy each episode of your video, also let me as a Taiwanese, even find that there are so many interesting places in Taiwan, I will follow your footsteps to try one by one!! The two most important things: (1) your video recording and editing technology has been a professional master!(2) Your husband and wife's dialogue and feelings are enviable, life should be so! Finally, thank you for sharing everything with all of us, and I wish you all the next journey!come on!
Hi guys! Thank you for producing such great video. I just got back fro Taroko’s Zhuilu Old Road” Trail. If you ever go back, it’s a must go trail! BTW, My wife and I are big fans! Really enjoy watching your video. I’m in video production Industry. Your works are truly great in production value and lots of fun to watch! Thanks for staying in Taiwan for so long and cover so many beautiful places and delicious food. Keep up the great work and have super fun wherever your next destination is!!!
Thank you so much! That really means a lot, given your background. We would love to do Zhuilu Old Road Trail next time! It looks amazing. We just couldn't make it work this time. We did do a different challenging hike near Jiufen and we're excited to share that in 2 weeks. Look for it! 😊
I'm surprised at myself. This is the first time I have watched a Taraoko Gorge vlog (whether it's a chinese or english one) without skipping or fast forwarding. Must have something to do with your more animated style of vlog and the interaction between both of you. I'm from Singapore and have done the northern trail in outer Taipei which is absolutely picturesque. There is also a place where the entire place is filled rapeseed flowers I think with a road for cycling through (can't remember what that place called, but very instagram-able). I was in Taiwan in Nov 2019 just before Covid wreaked havoc all over the world.
謝謝!Fantastic trip video! For Chinese burrito(潤餅) , and yes, you can ask for half-sugar /less sugar(sugar coming from peanut powder-sugar mixture ) if you don't want to too sweet. And the longer you put it at room temperature, the wetter the ingredients is.
The peanut powder/sugar mixture adding appeared at 08:23 of video. We always add peanut powder/sugar or seaweed (original flavour) to cover vegetables/pork based ingredients. The spicy taste is coming from the hot sauce painting at rim of dough。
I really love your videos. I will be visiting Taiwan next year, 20 years since I've been there. There are so many places you've been so far I want to visit too. Thank you for your awesome videos. I just love the interaction between you.
The price you paid at the restaurant 105 Taiwanese New dollars you can buy a small french fries at McDonald in States. Enjoy your Taiwanese food over there you will missed them when you get back to States! Also my wife and I enjoy tremendously your amazing trip over there in Taiwan.
Now this place has a special feeling, after the earthquake we had in Taiwan and where, as almost always, Hualien is the most affected part of the country.
It's probably aboriginal people. Aboriginal people's singing with loud and clear in born, they are all trained in the mountains and streams daily. Chinese Burrito is usually eaten on Qingming Festival. Due as it can't use the fire for food on Tomb-sweeping day, people use mainly cold ingredients without fire cooking for meal.
Whoa, another well done vlog! I can see the minute changes (improvement) you made in each vlog, each one is better than the last one. 👏👏👏👍👍👍 I've been Taroko National Park many years but didn't get to hike the trails like you guys did. That's a lot of hiking!!!
For whatever reason I really really enjoy watching the parts where you guys sharing the food experiences, you guys made everything look super delicious somehow 😋. Thanks for the great content!
The dog at 12:12 is every chihuahua or pomeranian I have ever met! Evil dogs...LOL I just love this Taiwan series, thank you SO much for so many tips and tricks. I cannot wait to go in January. Question: how often did you rent a car and where do you suggest it the most?
Haha, we actually own a pomeranian! 😂 ours loves humans and doesn't bark much. We're very lucky! We only rented a car in Taroko Park. We picked it up and dropped it off in Hualien. It would have been nice to have a car in Sun Moon Lake and Alishan, but we managed with the busses. In Taroko, we were very grateful to have the flexibility of a car. I've heard the busses are inconsistent in that area; I would really recommend a car if you don't do a group tour.
Next time I go to Taiwan I might have to remain jet lagged to get up at 6-7am to see taroko gorge! How was renting a car and driving there? Any trouble renting one? I’m not sure the best way to travel on the East coast of Taiwan. My family is from Tainan and I know I’m terrified of the thought of driving there. But maybe the east coast is an easier drive?
Yes, you should take advantage of the jet lag! It's your travel super power. 💪 We picked up our rental car in Hualien so we didn't have to drive in Taipei. It was honestly not bad at all. It was pretty easy to get out of Hualien, and staying in Xincheng not only kept us close to Taroko but was very easy to drive in. Bill is also a very experienced driver, which helps. 😊
We LOVED Taroko National Park. Other than Taipei, it was the highlight of our Taiwan trip. Hualien has the best pork buns I have ever had and still dream about them haha!
Omg, the pork buns. 😍😍 Taroko was nice, but I actually think we enjoyed Alishan more (as well as our ridiculously hard hike at Teapot). Actually, we loved all of Taiwan! (waves hands around, dramatically)
I went to Taroko over 50 years ago. Thank you for your video that let me relive my experience. I remember in the shrine they used to show the name of the workers that lose their lives building the gorge. Wonder if that is still there?
After watching this video, I thought Taiwan was very attractive. Beautiful mountains, rivers and delicious food. It may be similar to Japan. I remembered a story when I watched butterflies in this video. A Japanese person went to Taiwan, and a Taiwanese taught him the names of butterflies. Since all of names were Japanese, the Japanese asked him how to say them in Taiwanese. Then the Taiwanese said there was no name for the butterflies in Taiwanese. This is because a Japanese scholar made Japanse names for them.
You two are so entertaining. I believe if you pick the adventure trail. You have to be the one that walks the bridge first. I think that's a man law. Its written somewhere. 😜😂🤣
When you were in those mountains and heard a song, didn't assume that someone was singing, maybe...... Hundreds of people dead when at the time those mountain roads were constructed fifty years ago.
I think this might be the first Taiwan travel video I've seen that gave lūn-piánn-kauh (Taiwanese burrito) a try. Judging by how you greeted the Chihuahua, you guys must be cat people, like me.
@@TalesFromOurPocket I see. It's just the out stretched knuckle is a signature move of Jackson Galaxy to ingratiate himself with unfamiliar cats on his show My Cat from Hell.

😁😁 Time for you to travel! 😉

Do you mean “Eternal Spring Shrine 長春祠 “? Yes. It’s still there but due to the quake on 3 April, it is closed now.
小吃攤標示英文真的很重要,因為那能讓沒試過的人了解你賣的是什麼,還有你可以跟外國人說自己是當地最棒的,沒有人會有意見。
