I think you should give the Paper Mario series an shot. Mainly the first 2 games. If you like Super Mario RPG, you'll love 64 & The Thousand Year Door.
@@HellFireRPGs Tbh, I'm a huge fan of Persona series. I've played it ever since Persona 1. That's why it had me in a dilemma on which to prioritize first, Relink or Reload. But then I have been waiting for Relink for almost 7years now and I wouldn't be able to sleep if I didn't pre-order it. Reload can wait.

I'm so happy Suikoden 3 is finally coming out after all these years. Sometime one of these years... feels like its been a long wait. Speaking of long waits, I hope they actually finish the FF7 remake before I die. I'm getting old and my heart isn't doing well. I don't want to play it until its honestly done and part of me think I'll never get to see it. Playing half a game would be worse then playing nothing. It IS nice that both my favorite games, Suikoden and FF7 are getting remasters/remakes. They just need to get the job done and finish it.

I need to play it before infinite wealth - I played my first persona game this year in 4 golden. I just got 5 Royal which I will play this year. I'll probably grab 3 when 3 reloaded azure comes out. - I'm so excited for unicorn overlord. Love me some strategy RPGs. What system did you play 13 sentinels on? - fantasy persona? Yes please! Metaphor looks great and I'm very excited about the battle system. - dragons dogma looks cool but I didn't play the first. I also don't have a great memory for things. I'm with you I usually play mages in games like that - I'm on sky 3rd so I'm a ways away from daybreak. - as I said earlier suikoden is one of my favorites and Eiyuden is the game I'm most excited for this year - FF7 is my 4th or 5th favorite final fantasy so I'm not hugely stoked about the remake. Granblue Fantasy gameplay feels like a cross between Star Ocean and Monster Hunter, more reason to be super hyped for it (I hope whatever contributions Platinum Games made to the combat system are still there).

Strong list, not much to add just some lower budget rpgs like Banishers and The Thaumaturge. And pretty sure greedfall 2 will drop Also mate go play like a dragon! It’s a perfect example, of a classic RPG without letting people know that it is. I also love games, where I am not out saving the world and fighting gods by the end of the game. It’s a game that the story only gets better as it goes, which sadly is something I find very few JRPGs can claim.
Wouldn't mind giving The Thaumaturge a go. I played their first game and it was a bit of fun. I know! When I finish the game I'm currently playing, I think I'll give it a go.

trails is dog shit..... you have to play all games to be able to enjoy them. if you skip some titles then your out of the loop and the story is generic as they come

@OrdinaryGuy25 I usually avoid demos and prefer to wait until the full game. Do you know if it has carry over progression?

Unicorn Overlord will be the biggest flop this year. People have hyped this up to no end because pretty sprites but the gameplay looks awfully dull.
They have a great track record. Fair if it was an unheard of developer, but these guys know what they're doing, so I'm confident.
I seriously can’t think of a more overrated franchise than the “Trails of” series.
