  • Welcome to the Initial Thoughts for the Christenson Surfboards Lane Splitter Twin Fin, which I have been surfing fin the stock 5'9 x 20 1/8 x 2 1/2 - 30.8L
    We check out the Christenson Twin Fin - if you would like to buy a set, please use our link to let FCS know that independent surfboard reviews help support your decision making - bit.ly/3eEOvP2
    I've had a few surfs on the Lane Splitter, and more to come in time for the full review, and also hopefully a bit more surf footage!
    The Lane Splitter is a twin that is build for speed and flow down the line; yet Chris shaped a tighter tail for more control and predictability.
    The Lane Splitter has CC's signature rail template to maximise forgiveness, performance and speed in a smaller package.
    Also available in a 2+1 set up.
    From www.surffcs.co...
    The Christenson Twin Fin set provides smooth and fast down the line speed.
    Overview
    From high performance twins to more traditional shapes, this is a perfect compliment to your twin fin. This set provides smooth and fast down the line speed.
    Board Types
    Designed to fit the FCS II Fin System.
    Recommended for all board types including fish, funboard and twin fin boards.
    We will have the full review on the Lane Splitter out soon - but if there are any questions you have, things you'd like to see included in the full review regarding fins etc - please comment below!
    Thanks to Sam @yousurf_ifilm for the surf footage

    I’ve been on a 5’10” for 18 months now trying to figure out the volume, so you calling the 5’9” at 31 def helps! Also, love this board so much that I just bought an identical 5’10” today as the other one is on it’s way out a bit. So good!

      Hey, thanks for the feedback!
      If you want something different, go the Lane Splitter - more of a performance shortboard feel, but still a nice cruisey feel to it.
      The HK twin is closer to the fish you've been riding - while a little further up the performance ladder, it's still more rooted in the classic fish design.

    You could do a review on how to measure volume the old school way with a garbage bin full of water (volume displacement) :) everyone can do it at home too and it s quite interesting to see how wrong the CAD programs calculate the volume. Great review btw and looks like a good board .

    Super cool that you are doing a review on this board! Seems a like a winner already. So any initial thoughts on how it compares to the Twinsman? It seems that Lane Splitter maybe more versatile and a little more glide, and the Twinsman has more upper range and a bit more performance. Thanks man! I enjoy your videos and you are always inspiring with your happiness!

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  3 года назад +2

      Thanks for your feedback!
      To be honest, they are so similar it's hard to pull them apart - i do know the swallow of the Twinsman provides more grip/hold through turns, where the LS can feel a bit wild and jump out of the water...

    • @jamiemacmahan3417
      @jamiemacmahan3417 3 года назад +1

      @@TheSurfboardGuide Interesting - thanks! It seems the fins are farther forward on the Lane Splitter. The fins on the Twinsman are uniquely farther back.

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  3 года назад

      @@jamiemacmahan3417 I’ll have a look at the two, but I don’t think fin placement is that different between the two. There are a lot of similarities between the two with foil and volume etc.

      @@TheSurfboardGuide Thanks Craig! Well, I purchased a 6' 0" Album Twinsman over the holidays and have been waiting for it.. I have been primarily surfing a 5' 6" Album Plasmic for most surfs. It goes well for the most part - its a little chunky, but fits and gets into most waves very nicely and has huge fun factor on the wave, playful with inherent speed. Since surfing the Plasmic, I was looking for a bit more performance. I don't really have a short board and worried that the 6' 0" Twinmans might be too big. I bought 5' 10" Lane Splitter - just arrived yesterday, first surf today in solid waves. It went very well. Similar but different from the Plasmic, it is more performance but paddles well, less chunky, it has more hold and control in the bigger waves, as it is slower than the Plasmic. Irony - my Twinsman arrive today. I guess I will figure this comparison as well.
