- To wrap up this wonderful season and celebrate a year’s worth of creating these videos, Kimi Werner and team take this one back to her roots. Three pronging for fry fish is how it all started and sharing her catch with others is what created this lifestyle of sustainability and community. So we do exactly that with some fry fish and homemade poi.

She lived on Maui & Kauai as a teen. She moved to Washington state where I met her in 1974. She was my high school sweet heart, the only one I have ever been with. She is hawaiian, chinese, so we relate to your ono recipes. God bless you and your family. Buddy is so a cc acclimated to the environment. Hopefully you will be back soon.
You guys got me through the hardest time in my life. Being an icu covid nurse from nyc, I escaped the madness by watching every single one of your videos, whether it was on break at work, home in bed on a day off, or coming home from work and eating breakfast at the counter. Buddy is growing into a gorgeous little nugget. I’m sad to see the weekly videos end, but know you guys helped me mentally escape with your videos. Mahalo. Cant wait to see what’s next! 🤙🏻

I am born and raised in Hawaii. My grandfather was a fisherman and had a pier at what we called sand island. It is now a different name. I left over 30 years ago. Your videos warms my heart. Buddy makes me smile.
Much Mahalo Kimi!!!!! Watching Buddy grow up reminds me of how I brought my oldest up. He was sitting in a car seat at 9 months old and I handed him a fishing pole and wouldn't you know it.... he got his first Halalu. He was 4 years old when he saw me jump off of a cliff to show off my powder techniques to my friends and when I turned around and looked up all I saw was my son bee lining for the ocean like me. He could tread water but I was so shocked that he was not afraid of the ocean... like his dad. Now my mini... errrrr.... monstah me..... is finding tako by himself and hunting and cleaning his own catches. I am reliving my past through you and your Ohana. Love these videos!!!!
For the past 2 years I have been enjoying your videos from fishing with your sister meeting your brother, from the paintings to sneakers to marriage and motherhood. You have filled my life with joy and through you I have fallen in love with your beautiful Island but also throughout this long year I have introduced my wife to you and your family and every Thursday we have watched Buddy's adventures. The first video I saw of you guys were Aku bones, poke etc. 5 months ago and within the first few minutes I subscribed and clicked the notification bell.
I am originally from Thailand but currently live in Germany. 5 months ago was tough with all the pandemic here, losing jobs, curfew and being far away from home made me depressed. I can’t leave my house or do things outside much.
You videos are something that kept my spirit uplifted and it feels like I get to go outside and do all the fun stuff just watching you.

Mahalo Kimi and Justin. This has been an amazing year of content, recipes, and watching Buddy grow. My kids are now in high school and our oldest is getting ready to go to college. Seeing your new family begin and remind me of how our son's first year was paralleled to Buddy's is a wonder. In Florida we lack the clear waters for diving, but we make up for it in fishing. The same way that buddy learned to stand up by using the benches along your yard, ours learned by bracing himself to surfboards on the beach. He would eat anything and everything that we gave him along with a few handfuls of sand. Aloha, and I can't wait to see what you will share next.
My son is only a few weeks older than Buddy. Over the past year it has been so funny and satisfying to watch Buddy do the same crazy stuff as Emmett, and watch you go through the same parenting joys and struggles that we have. Thank you for making these videos showing the world what a strong and loving woman and mother looks like.

You all are so amazing to put this together and the whole organization is just so like back in da days right in the backyard...the beach was our backyard and the only world we knew as my father dived n brought everything home for us! I can’t explain properly how much joy and inspiration these videos have brought me. I’ve learned so many amazing recipes and so much about Hawaii and seeing Buddy grow and grow was the absolute highlight. These videos emit so much love and serene energy and it goes without saying that I will miss them so. What an awesome way to wrap it up. You guys do a phenomenal job. For the record, you can totally do this with bluegill and crappie! I’m a freshwater spearfisherman from Wisconsin and I’ll do this with the fish I spear from time to time. Not quite the same as kole, I’m sure, but still pretty good. Very beautiful story you share. What you shared is what I share to my children but when they make a lot of money they forget what is more important in life. Believe me nothing wrong but when you said you went back diving at 24 yrs old. That statement got me. All positive. Lol.
