I rehydrate my long rice with the stock instead of water. The long rice takes on the flavor of the stock plus I’m not diluting the stock from the water.
Cologne cathedral is a sight to behold. I was there while serving in USAF in England as part of Nato Tac Eval along with German Airforce. I traveled to Cologne on a weekend trip, took a Mercedes taxi cab😄, rode their train to the city and it was amazing to say the least to see that cathedral from the outside, much more impressive inside.🤙🤙🤙 I'm from Waianae, retired and living in Eastern NC Eastern NC. Hope you'll keep making those Hawaiian home cook recipe videos😢
So, I live in Okinawa Japan and I liked what I saw with your recipe and I made it last night for a friends birthday party that we had at my house. Everyone loved it! I added a little bit of different ingredients but mostly followed yours.I used the same Hawaiian sea salt but a Thailand style of fish sauce and a little Hawaiian shoyu (soy sauce). This was such a good recipe! The next day my family was already telling me I should make this everyday! LOL!! Thank you!
I am so happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed this recipe!! What a great idea with those different ingredients! Mahalo! And Aloha 🤙🏽 from Kauai 🏝
The bean thread noodle you have from Costco is only there in Hawaii. I actually like it so much it’s one of the souvenirs I bring back to Cali because it is thicker than the usual one in pink net. That is popular.
For years I thought my Uncle Joe invented this dish. He would make this for us back in the 60s when we visited him in Hollywood. A few years ago, I introduced the dish to the USO where I volunteer in San Diego. I was amazed how our guests came and ask for more. When the staff asked me for a recipe and name for the dish, I called it Uncle Joe’s chicken and long rice. After a bit of research on the internet thingy, I discovered it originated from the Philippines. The King asked his chef to come up with an original recipe in the late 1800s. It is similar to your recipe with an added flair which includes chayote and greens such as baby bok chow, or spinach or Chinese cabbage. The name of the dish is called Chicken Tinola. Today I substitute chayote with green papaya. Thanks for sharing. You’ll find it in Filipino run restaurants on many of the Island especially Maui. 🙏💪🌍🌏🌎❤️🇺🇸🖖
Hello from Ecuador. I want you to know I am not a fan of ginger though I’m aware of its health benefits. I put my ginger in my Ninja blender with some broth and it was perfect. The ginger is the key. Loved this recipe.
