I kinda like how neither are completely blameless in this. Don't get me wrong, killing herself and Rika and starting another murder cycle, that's ALL on Satoko. Major bitch points for that. All our other friends fucked off and you're all I've got left, and now you're ditching me for these rich snobs?" But at the same time, I totally agree with Rika. She's like, "Dude, if I'm leaving you behind, it's because you're not moving forward. You CHOSE to come here! You refuse to accept that this isn't our hometown and things work differently here. You refuse to change your behavior and adapt to your situation."
It wasnt really satokos choice to go there tho...... She trusted rika in staying by her side because rika said she would and that she wouldnt leave her yet the same thing happened satoko points it out rika is able to adapt to where theyre at and she would be an outcast

@@kvdrr My superficial morality? You're apparently a-okay with murder, torture, and manipulation. Satoko made Satoko go insane. She's old enough now that she is responsible for her own actions. Rika endured a hundred years of this crap trying to find a way for her friends and whole village to not be destroyed. If Rika hadn't gone through all those loops trying to find a good ending, Satoko wouldn't even be alive to resent her now.
@@ElvenRaptor You're jumping to conclusions, judgment of Satoko's and Rika's actions is outside the scope of my argument. You're having trouble understanding casuality - Satoko didn't knew about Rika's baggage as a looper, so she can't be said to lack empathy (or expected to have gratitude) for Rika. When she did learn that Rika is a looper, it was too late as she just had went insane. There lots of extenuating circumstances explaining Satoko's seemingly disappropriate behavior - abandonment issues, unfortunate accident resulting in Satoko believing that Rika threw her under the bus, not knowing she's a looper and so forth. Moral ambiguity portrayed here is, ironically, perfectly clear to me.
One think I wanna know On this chapter (Satokowashi-hen), Rika doesn't go through loop anymore. Now Satoko get that power (or maybe it's curse, for me it's literally curse). They both die. I believe Satoko will go looping, will Rika do it too? Maybe we can discuss it here
I think that they both exist in the fragment world. When Rika chooses a fragment, Satoko follows after her. That's why, she is able to control the events behind the scenes. * Rena's Paranoia * Shion killing Rika first, protect Keichi and die together with Satoko * Giving level 5 syndrome to a lot of people on the uncle arc and mini routes
I think Satako has been manipulating Rika's loops throughout the entirety of the show, and we're only NOW getting the answer as to how she's been able to do it. Remember that Rika herself felt like somebody else was rolling the dice instead of her, now all of the previous episodes where Satako was being sus makes sense. Conveniently interrupting conversations Rika was having with other key characters, her face being hidden throughout some scenes where other characters faces are visible, and of course, the big one, her knowing about the K.O. trap that Rika made before she even revealed it. It's literally been Satako vs. Rika the entire time and Rika had no clue.
@@enterthekyuubi I doubt it. Satoko's definately the culprit of the GOU season, but all previous arcs it was Takano. Satoko only became a looper after Rika finished the 100 year game.

A part of me wants to Photoshop the falling chandelier on Rika and Satoko with a Thwomp for some reason. Or edit it with a scene from Lethal Weapon 2...
In the case of the latter, Riggs would be limping towards the switch, and when Satoko snaps her fingers while hugging Rika, that's the signal for Riggs to press the switch causing the chandelier to drop on Satoko and Rika. I should call that video, "Satoko hires Martin Riggs to kill herself and Rika".
Hmmm just wondering do the girls at lucia think satako killed rika or think it was a accident they all scream when rika dies but no concern for satako I know she wasn't well liked but I doubt people would wish that on satako wondering what people's thoughts are also I know it's intended only satako knows the truth about what happened
Wonder how they did the "finger snap to trigger the mechanism" in the manga. I guess a very thin string could be used, still tho a snap and a chandelier gets released? Rly...
was it just me that was frustrated with how satoko and rika acted? like if satoko accepted rikas help and rika was more gentle w her words then this wouldnt have happened. atleast in my opinion
You know it really makes me wonder what Satako is going to do if she achieves her goal of trapping rika in hinamizawa. Because Rika 100% will find out its her. So their friendship will be destroyed. Or maybe satako plans on making scars so rika decides to stay without remembering it all? If i was her, my plan would be rather than go back in time right away to convince rika, make it so any time she leaves hinamizawa every new thing she makes, is ruined or dies. One by one to make others around her think she's cursed and thus maintain friends forever with out her knowing. But hey, you do you Satako.
I think Satoko was just paranoid due to the dormant hinamizawa syndrome which caused her to become a bitch and perceive Rika as leaving her behind when in reality Rika wasn't.

Satoko and Rika were best friends ever since season 1. (Except for the 'Perfect World' in the Rei OVAs) and Satoko did learn a lot just to get accepted into Rika's dream school just so they can hang out together.
That world where Satoko bullies Rika is from a different world where no tragedy took place so it's not the same Satoko as this one. The Rika and Satoko here has been best friends since childhood.

Well this is how higurashi should be. I like Rika isn't an innocent girl like the early episode. Well done for making Satoko as a reasonable villain in the rest of anime.

Witch of certainty has emerged ☺️
To be fair after reading the VN and watching the anime, seeing Rika act like a boring snob does piss me off. Maybe not enough for me to drop a chandelier on her but I’m not Satoko. Miracles gang btfo I’m on team certainty now
I kinda like how neither are completely blameless in this. Don't get me wrong, killing herself and Rika and starting another murder cycle, that's ALL on Satoko. Major bitch points for that. But disproportionate retribution aside, I do get where's she's coming from. She like, "I only came here because you asked me to. All our other friends fucked off and you're all I've got left, and now you're ditching me for these rich snobs?"
But at the same time, I totally agree with Rika.
Put it like this you wanna be by your friends side forever and dont want to lose them and you put all your effort into helping their dream come true just for them to kinda drop you off in the end like you didnt do anything
@@godlyghost4927 Trusting someone is not the same as them forcing you to do it. If someone lies to you that someone you know said something rude about you, and then you go and hit that person, that's YOUR fault, because even though you were lied to, you chose how you reacted to that lie.
@@godlyghost4927 As Rika said, she TRIED to reach out to Satoko, but Satoko point blank refused. Could she have tried harder? Absolutely. She played a role in her and Satoko's crumbling friendship, but Satoko is not innocent either.
@@godlyghost4927 It WAS Satoko's choice though? Rika only persuaded her because she doesn't know anything of what is going to happen in the future only Satoko does, she was thinking that Satoko was just scared of the future and yes she "failed" at keeping the promise but its still Satoko's fault for not moving forward or just saying "No".
These will be the longest 3 months of my life, I can feel it
Me too
I really feel for Satoko in this one. But for Rika wanting more shouldn't be a bad thing...
I stop feeling for people once they commit murder, and especially after they start abusing time travel powers to torture someone else.
@@ElvenRaptor Oh really? Let me remind you that it was Rika who caused Satoko to go insane, your superficial morality got it backwards, I guess.
@@kvdrr The only thing I see here is someone who is totally okay with murder as a means to an end.

On this chapter (Satokowashi-hen), Rika doesn't go through loop anymore.

@@onlybb3286 Shion ? It’s MION bro don’t be wrong

Satoko's definately the culprit of the GOU season, but all previous arcs it was Takano.

3:29 when Rika dies
Hmmm just wondering do the girls at lucia think satako killed rika or think it was a accident they all scream when rika dies but no concern for satako I know she wasn't well liked but I doubt people would wish that on satako wondering what people's thoughts are also I know it's intended only satako knows the truth about what happened
Yes , they think satoko kill rika because rika tell them about how good satoko trap are
the chandelier was a furniture!

The only thing I do not like about the scene is that there is no cicada sounds
they really let Satoko's bubbly persona go from the original anime
the fact that she knew rika has been suffering for a hundred years to get what she wants and still did this shit… can’t you both just be happy-
She only learned that after multiple failed loops, but yeah, still a bitch move on her part for taking such an extreme approach.
This show is scary man
They care about rika then satoko
Hey so I haven’t watched the anime yet, but is it that every time they die, they meet again in another world?
Yeah pretty much
I think Satoko was just paranoid due to the dormant hinamizawa syndrome which caused her to become a bitch and perceive Rika as leaving her behind when in reality Rika wasn't.
Because of small Mistakes Satoko go a bit...Aghr...Yandere...in my opinion...Very bad turn...,That why i think this never happened if the both of them talk about there own problems....,but is better to hate then talk...

Rika did everything she could to break the cycle. She didn't kill her mother because she wanted to, she killed her to spare her the same pain she suffered, and because it meant that the disease wasn't eradicated like in the good timeline. @@kirikakirikakirika i do not belive rika is evil, but in that whole looping malarki there are a lot of possibilities, while trying to make my point i did over vilefied rika but intend this as a joke, but still to me, she should at least had the tact to know her friend would need more of a support group than a acasional talk with her, rika fougth the cycle and as i see it she is correct in allmost all of it, but in all the worlds she knows how much she means to that lil blonde psycho, satoko went berserk because she could not break her friend resolve, rika however, can easely make a non looper satoko do as she wishes, just by being the miko that protected her in childhood, and while i recognise this as only a theory of mine, i do mantain that rika has a need for satoko, and sees her as a mixture of possible future lover ,and actual daugther stand in, lets remember that rika is a wise old bat, that was forced to grow callous and manipulative to win the game, also, she looped enougth to know what a psychotic break looks like even without hinamisawa syndrome, the whole "choose, me or the school" at least as i understand it ,is not "there is only a real choice ,me, and if ya choose those stuck up princecess i Will go yandere", but more of a "listen bich ya not the only one with resolve, and i will not be your plaything" i dont think satoko will do this, but i belive, if she let the ciclo go and just held still in hinamisawa, her friend would came looking for her, maybe even a lil bit pissed that she has does not have that lil girl who idolises her anymore, my whole outlook is this witches are biches and those two , are just it ,witches, they been broken enougth to accept that are incontable worlds, many of those not pretty, but tham they will go trogth a lot to have their own happy end, and i dont think rika will be fully satisfied abandoning hinamisawa, and not having satoko, but hey i migth be wrong, it is still fun to theorize and analise those two
