I can’t wait to see this. I hope they show how he was raised by a Jewish family and he spoke Yiddish. My grandfather was good friends with him. He was a jazz radio dj in the 30’s and 40’s in DC.

Its a great show, music, dancing/tap, jazz, etc. Agree cuz I was in the mezzanine and my legs were cramped, and what's with the funky, crooked cement and metal bannisters up there? 🤔😀

Studio 5'4" - don't sit in the mezzanine if you're any taller!
    such a good review!

Does it mention his daughter, Sharon Preston-Folta?

@@valval347 A baby (that is Sharon) is mentioned very briefly, but not named (unless this was changed after the final preview I saw).

I think you were sitting one row behind where I sat (at a difference performance). Like you, it was my first visit to this theatre. I loved the music! Did you have a warmup jazz band outside the theater before the performance?
This reminded of Great Gatsby in many ways. Extensive sets, traditional choreography, a typical musical, but nothing special. I was glad to see James Monroe Iglehart, but this show while good, didn’t wow me.

Yes, there was a band outside! Thought that was so cool!
