Oh man, your production values just keeping going up each week. I'm getting FOMO when I listen to the podcast now on my morning coffee run. Please more quick clips of the graphic heavy segments :)
@43:13 Not to overstate the obvious but you guys have done such an incredible job telling the real-time unfolding of these creative tools coming together in all the right ways. HYPED for the discord for us AI for Humanoids. Re-Gavin's point about handheld 30-min comedies like The Office, it could be a fun idea in the discord over time to try stringing together short episodes in this format and see how far we could push it lol
So happy to have Kevin back and more than anything so happy to have worked with Baby Joe Rogan and Baby Terrance Howard. DISCORD IS COMING. And we won't George R.R. Martin this. Also, I am big sausage put mustard on me.
Seriously. Weekly. Somehow he's more relatable as a baby than an adult. I know I don't have to take Baby Joe seriously, but Adult Joe...well ya. Also, Baby Terrance Howard was a great first guest. Keep it up boys! You're doing the lords work.
14:10 Imagen 3 is so frustrating; I tried using the prompts that THEY supplied multiple times and it wouldn't generate anything. I wasn't even generating people and it kept censoring everything.
I'm disappointed to hear, but not surprised. I just did my Gemini Advanced trial to test out Live, and it sucks that image generation is still non existent.
I totally agree about this extra-creativity being the promise of these tools (alongside more mundane use-cases in work environments). I'm not a musician. I know don't have the dedication to learn how to play instruments. I can't get people together and I don't have a recording studio. Nevertheless, with Claude and Suno and my own creativity, I can make a concept album. Yes, I didn't sing it. Yes, I got Claude to write first drafts for songs. My creativity still comes in. I prompted creatively with my own ideas. I edited the songs, almost entirely re-writing most of them (but I find it easier to edit than to work from a blank page). I curated the generations, operating as an artificial selection mechanism. That process is still creative. And the outputs are still creative. More people making art and expressing themselves is great! Reducing and removing barriers to artistic expression is one of the great promises of generative AI.
so psyched to see ideogram on the show - been beta testing 2.0 and it literally is hands down the best realism - once you understand how to prompt it. it's unlike the other (imo archaic) ways that SD and midjourney takes inputs. mixing 2.0 outout into runway is making some insane stuff as well. anywho - rad to see you both cover it!
@@BrianMosleyUK sure. I should do a whole video series heh. made thousands of images - but basically you prompt it like a sentence. so the other programs trained people (ironic) to prompt like a machine
@@BrianMosleyUK you really want to start with your subject or location (it doesn't really matter) and then write the sentence as you see it happening. I could give some examples - but 'a man, wearing a business suit, 40yo and looking tired (or expression of tired) waiting in line at the DMV. Other people are around also looking furstrated and tired. It's night outside. then you want to choose realistic, and quality and keep magic prompt off
yeah, it's really impressive. we need to spend more time with the realism side of things but it's clear that MJ is starting to get a bit creaky and maybe too expensive.
Omg, Baby Joe Rogan had me weak, then you added Baby Howard and Baby Musk - best cohost combo so far! I mean, who wouldn't want to listen to a bunch of grown men pretending to be babies? And of course, the AI news song is back because my brain wasn't already sufficiently stuck in a loop of existential dread. But seriously, I love that song for some reason... I'm not sure what's wrong with me, but it's just so catchy. And the AI-dating bit was on point. Can't wait for the inevitable apocalypse when Skynet takes over and we're all like "at least we made some sick AI content before we became extinct". Priorities, people!
Personally, rather than a humanoid robot, I want a Spot from Boston Dynamics that has an autopilot function so it can follow me around and carry my groceries. It can already walk autonomously on pre-planned routes and adjust to environmental changes (like people walking around), but it doesn't have fully autonomous walking functionality like "stay close to this person with the bluetooth receiver".
26:24 AI Robot maintenance? Yes! There's a potentially great era of Robot Slavery waiting for us in the future, right before the Robot Uprising begins.
40:00 - Ah, this explains it. I was enthusiastic about Hedra, signed up but had no time to use it much, now it doesn't work anymore with non- human characters. I guess they overfitted it.
@@AIForHumansShow I only use something like 3D anime chicks with big eyes. Version 1.0 worked somewhat and at least good enough after trying two or three times. The new one fails.
The potential for Ideogram 2.0 to create realistic branding images is both exciting and concerning. How do you think we can balance innovation with the need to protect intellectual property?
like right now, we already steal ideas ai is just faster, if your ip gets taken then you take it to court, if they deem it too similar then ai loses. This really is.no different to humans stealing ip.

@@gavinpurcellI meant as a compliment that the whole video seems like it was made for tv. Like they can pitch the show on Vh1 or TNT or something. It’s so well produced!
Ideogram gives me nudity with prompts which are not really asking for it, just describing a short miniskirt. No problem, but surprising. It also doesn't refuse to show severely destroyed buildings, but generally the quality in realistic illustrations was lacking in my short test. Generation of realistic looking waifus was a disaster. Thanks anyways, maybe I'll find some other use cases.
