A few comments about those games. Underground Rivals, Most Wanted and Carbon are pretty good on PSP. They look good, feel good and play good. Underground Rivals has the most extensive customization among all of them, Most Wanted has the best police chases (they are very intense) and Carbon has an open world, which surprised me since I didn't know it has it. The other three... well, they are average at best. It feels like after Carbon developers didn't care about making them good and every next game was worse the the other. Shift, in my opinion, is the worst, so don't even bother even trying it. Btw, leave in the comments which you think is the best Need for Speed Game on PSP!
Every Need for Speed on PSP is good but Need for Speed Carbon Own the City is best. Awesome map, story, progression system and gameplay. By my opinion its only nfs on psp in quality of bigger console or pc versions.
I apreciate that you showed the customization in every game. Something interesting about NFS Shift is that they used the same engine from the Burnout games on PSP, and imo is very interesting because we all know that the Burnout games are one of the most arcady racing games ans NFS Shift is supposed to be a simulator (or a sim-cade at least)

You can SEE it, but cannot FEEL it. That's why it looks slow. While NFS,it uses camera trick to make it FEEL faster while the speed it actually the same as GT. For some reason on PSP, they don't know how to make it FEEL fast. Maybe because it wants the game achieve 60fps,they can't really use more motion blur. Idk,just maybe.

For some reason NFS games on PSP are a bit "problematic" It was seamlessly ported to the PSP, as was the PS 2 version of many other racing games. In the NFS series, instead of porting the games, different games were made. The PSP isn't that incompetent. Games like Juiced 2 Hot Import Nights, Flatout 2 (Head On), Gran Turismo can run on PSP very similar to the PS2 version. In NFS's, especially vehicle modeling is quite weak in my opinion. If you look specifically at the rims, you can better understand what I mean. Apart from that, especially NFS Pro Street makes a very bad ghosting on the screen. I can't stand more than 5 minutes, my eyes are starting to hurt. Unfortunately I can't enjoy playing most NFS on PSP. Juiced 2 HIN offers much better gaming enjoyment.

I completely agree with you, besides Underground Rivals & Carbon they’re so average compared to Juiced 2, Midnight Club Dub 3 & LA Remix or Test Drive Unlimited or Ridge Racer 1&2. These were the peak of Arcade Racing on the PSP.

As a kid I played MW on my computer, so I expected a lot more from PSP version and I was pretty disappointed. Every other NFS seemed really different to main version, so I spent around 10 minutes on Carbon (too different from main version), ProStreet (same), Undercover (didn't like the main version, so I wasn't bothered with that), Rivals (I think it was the most fun, but I didn't like it much). Though, i spent a lot of time playing Shift (extra letter), because I didn't have the main version, so I thought its the prime Shift experience, also M3 GT2 was fun
I played all of them back then, but Underground Rivals was the one that stood out the most to me. It had a big part in my younger days and will always have a special place in my heart.
Own the City's plot was very dark that I wish the main NFS games had more instead of a cheesy story like 2015 or something cringe like Payback. Heat had one, and I wish more of it comes. I absolutely loved the game so much.
NFS games on the GBA and DS were quite impressive for the system limitations, but these games were underwhelming. Aside from Underground Rivals and Carbon, these games are quite disappointing when you see what other racers were on the PSP with better handling and more flashed out gameplay.

PSP ver of Shift is basically ProStreet 2 like ALL of the events are screaming ProStreet (Career progressions), returning faces (minus Aki Kimura), & the overall vibes are pretty much ProStreet While the actual PSP ver of ProSreet felt more like Shift instead ngl Shift PSP is a pretty decent PSP Racing Games since it basically a Burnout in disguise (made by the same dev as Burnout Dominator)

On psp, there is almost no different on the gameplay. The only looks and feel different is about then handling and grip (the response too). Is this because the limitations of the device (psp)? Meanwhile on the PS2 version, there is a lot different on the Gameplay. Specialy on underground to most wanted then most wanted to pro street and last pro street to undercover. There is really feel the difference.
They all good....until Carbon Own The City. After that, the series on PSP went downhill and I felt like they didn't care about the quality anymore. If I'm not mistaken, Undercover does not have Free Roaming and I was like 'what were they thinking?". From that moment, I started caring less about any NFS PSP.
On CD romance the ratings even tho carbon is open world underground has a higher rating then it that's interesting!! I think underground and most wanted are the best psp ports of nfs the ratings say so aswell shame thay missed out on open worlds (agreed tho anything after carbon just got worse !!) Carbon Own the City and Undercover were the best ones... Pro Street, Shift, and Most Wanted 5-1-0 were absolute garbage and Underground Rivals was just okay...
To be more honest,, I love NFS Most Wanted 5-1-0, & the NFS undercover, on psP. Games,,,, compare to the NFS payback, & the NFS HEAT,,, thats all,, 😁😆😀☺️😉
Bro, the PS2 couldn't even clock at 300 MHz, but it had the most fun in the games I ever had. To be fair, I think later PSP models could be OC to 333 MHz, and they even had more RAM but the graphics were much inferior to PS2 hence many games seemed to run on similar engine but texture quality on PSP was much worse.
That is not about the PSP specs, its EA fault for put low budget developers to creating low quality of NFS games. Looks at Burnout Legends, Burnout Dominator, Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition, Split Second and others, they are better than these NFS games and are similar to the PS2, PS3 versions. PSP had a good CPU and processor to handle good games.

Carbon Own the City and Undercover were the best ones... Pro Street, Shift, and Most Wanted 5-1-0 were absolute garbage and Underground Rivals was just okay...

To be more honest,, I love NFS Most Wanted 5-1-0, & the NFS undercover, on psP. Games,,,, compare to the NFS payback, & the NFS HEAT,,, thats all,, 😁😆😀☺️😉

How the hell developers were able to make fun games having 300Mhz CPU and 32MB of RAM?
Bro, the PS2 couldn't even clock at 300 MHz, but it had the most fun in the games I ever had. To be fair, I think later PSP models could be OC to 333 MHz, and they even had more RAM but the graphics were much inferior to PS2 hence many games seemed to run on similar engine but texture quality on PSP was much worse.
That is not about the PSP specs, its EA fault for put low budget developers to creating low quality of NFS games. Looks at Burnout Legends, Burnout Dominator, Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition, Split Second and others, they are better than these NFS games and are similar to the PS2, PS3 versions. PSP had a good CPU and processor to handle good games.
Well, they didn't developed by Black Box Studio so...

NFS Underground Rivals to Prostreet PSP were developed by Team Fusion and Undercover PSP by Piranha Games and Shift PSP by EA Bright Light Studios (same people who worked in Burnout Dominator). tbh NFS games on PSP were decent enough, but I won't deny that Carbon Own The City is the best PSP NFS game I've ever played.
