This stuff has been known for a long time. Even if you invested in the machinery for high tolerances on the dial, it would still be obvious. No matter how good you make the dial, one peek at the movement will tell you everything. You can't fake this stuff without coming close to the cost of the real thing (before markup that is).

Cosmetically perhaps but a simple crack of the case will reveal the real deal no matter how close they have gotten the case bracelet and dials but the movement is always the dead giveaway in particular the details of the screws the ways it’s finished the text but the most obvious to the naked eye is the free sprung balance no fake has been able to replicate that and I’ll be surprised if they ever do that is what separates the real deal from a dressed up valjoux or some other Chinese chronograph.

Dollar for dollar, I think Omega is a superior brand to Rolex. But Rolex has the better name at the moment. As far as fakes go, 90% of them will fool 90% of the the people out there. I own a GMT Master ll l purchased in '95 and love the watch. Yes, l bought the watch in part for the prestige, but also because for a high end watch it can be worn everyday and can take it. It keeps good time and has gotten its share of admirers. I know they are expensive, but they're worth it. And with their classic design, it never seems to go out if style.

I've seen replicas that cost 200-300 USD and are visually the same as real ones. You could distinct it from a real one if you look at the movement itself since the better replicas usually use the Japanese Miyota 8025 movement, which is not as smooth and more noisy than ETA/Rolex/Omega movements.
Haha you can't possibly put ETA movements in the same category as Rolex, although you can put them with Omega, since many Omega watches use ETA movements (both part of the Swatch Group). Some of the higher end Omegas use manufacture movements, which are very precise designs and in the same category as Rolex though.

That leaves watches A and B but look closely at A and see right away the watch has been tampered with. 2:53 first look at the crown it is stamped on B it is raised under a magnifying glass this will be completely invisible. 3:20 on A the lettering has been stamped on B it has been laser cut. 3:38 final feature which makes B Rolex is the dial is laser-cut A's dial has been stamped on there. With means the winner is Watch B which is the Rolex.

Dollar for dollar, I think Omega is a superior brand to Rolex. But Rolex has the better name at the moment. As far as fakes go, 90% of them will fool 90% of the the people out there. If you want a fake and don't have an issue with that, go for it. But you will always know that you are wearing second best.
I own a GMT Master ll l purchased in '95 and love the watch. Yes, l bought the watch in part for the prestige, but also because for a high end watch it can be worn everyday and can take it. It keeps good time and has gotten its share of admirers. I know they are expensive, but they're worth it. And with their classic design, it never seems to go out if style.
If the only way you can tell the difference is by an extremely close examination why bother buying a 'real' one - nobody will know - and this guy effectively admits it!

No... They started engraving "Rolex Rolex Rolex" only after a certain year. So if your Daytona is an older model, it shall not have that anti-counterfeiting feature. Note that there are apparently very high quality replicas (much higher than the one shown in this video) so always be careful.

I've seen replicas that cost 200-300 USD and are visually the same as real ones.
You could distinct it from a real one if you look at the movement itself since the better replicas usually use the Japanese Miyota 8025 movement, which is not as smooth and more noisy than ETA/Rolex/Omega movements.
Haha you can't possibly put ETA movements in the same category as Rolex, although you can put them with Omega, since many Omega watches use ETA movements (both part of the Swatch Group). Some of the higher end Omegas use manufacture movements, which are very precise designs and in the same category as Rolex though.

oforilly, I honestly don't see that as being the answer to how to stop the fakes being created and sold. Eventually whatever Rolex comes up with WILL be figured out by the "shady fake makers/sellers". It will ALWAYS be an ongoing problem. Some replica Rolexes are insanely detailed, very expensive replicas that there really isn't much difference side by side. The only way to see the difference in some is to open them up and check the serial numbers with rolex. Seriously there are fakes out there that are that good.

The correct numbers are left 12 3 6 and 9 on the right one 5 20 35 and 55 and on the bottom 60 15 30 and 45. 2:03 look at the time arrows on C all Rolex parts or laser cut those parts look like they were stamped. And here is the final nail in the coffin that eliminates C. 2:23 look at the illuminates on C they are stamped and have been glued onto the watch on A and B they have been laser cut. All these imperfections have marked Watch C as a FAKE and it is eliminated. That leaves watches A and B but look closely at A and see right away the watch has been tampered with. 2:53 first look at the crown it is stamped on B it is raised under a magnifying glass this will be completely invisible. 3:20 on A the lettering has been stamped on B it has been laser cut. 3:38 final feature which makes B Rolex is the dial is laser-cut A's dial has been stamped on there. With means the winner is Watch B which is the Rolex.

You dont seem to understand basic marketing. Rolex is not expensive only because its made with awesome perfection or whatever. Much like Ralph lauren, LV, etc.. These brands can all be dublicated with a great deal of presition (depending on the machinery used by the black marked dealer), They are extremely expensive because of their one uniqe thing; brand. People pay for status; many people have these watches and dont really know or care about the details. They are just proud to have a rolex.
Rolex Daytona Zenith has a 60/30/20 on the left and the middle is 1/3/6/9 and its the only Rolex that does not use their own mechanical.
There are watches with the same serial numbers as the originals, and only one company, called Ziarex, sells them.

Up until a couple of years ago Panerai didn't even make their own movements. They used Unitas pocket watch movements and stripped down Valjoux 7750's. The company name is the only thing that remains of the Italian firm. Rolex, at least makes their own movements!
