I love the way you take your time and think through each cut in hopes of being safe!
Seeing your creativity in these jobs really helps us fellow solo tree guys. Thank you!
thanks for that! always opportunities out there to innovate
I saw a video once of a climber who hooked a caribeaner to his left or right side, at or kind of behind his hip. He hooked the tail of his rope ( the section hanging by your feet when your spurring ) into that caribeaner and just that few inches of offset hanging that tail just behind his waist was enough to keep his rope out from under his feet. The rope hung off to the side of him so he never spiked his rope under him while spurring 😊
it's a great practice and good idea -- it's easy to get sloppy up there and mess up your ropes. little tricks like that are worth it. thanks man
1 Man Army! Thanks for the share
Ten hut!
As usual, Spencer calmly bringing unprecedented levels of strategy and stamina. Jeez 🤯
thanks buddy!
Have missed your tree videos. They helped me take the step to start my own landscaping/tree business. I love it.
I bet that business of yours is rewarding! keep it up and thanks for that comment ... it means a lot!
@metaspencer it's going good got little slow after Thanksgiving till first of year but now it seems like it's picking up.
@@justinsigmon1878 yeah winter is usually slow ... something to plan and budget for as time goes on
@metaspencer well I did. Buttt my transmission went out of my cummins so that was 7k I had put back lol. That hurt.
ouch!!! dang trucks will bleed us dry@@justinsigmon1878
Was looking this morning at your videos to see how long it’s been since you posted, ha! Great video as always, Spencer
haha thanks for checking on me! yeah haven't been doing as many videos lately as I like to :)
We had another storm roll in Saturday morning. Lots of trees came down from an east wind. We had a large basswood hit our camp. The ground is saturated. We don’t need anymore rain.
A basswood fell across out walking trail -- BIG trees those! Here the ground is now frozen but only down a few inches, then the soggy slop
so many winter jobs with all this wind! Way to go!
chiillllllly!
8 degrees? Gracious I'm glad I live in the south. They're calling for 23 tonight and I'm about to freeze. Stay warm Spencer!
Oh that 23 sounds good! we have ice on our ice :)
@@metaspencer 🤣🤣🤣
Always love it when it looks like you're just chunking it by hand. Thanks for sharing
snap! yeah, gotta love it :)
I really thought u were going to flick the tip of the pine cone. 😂.
Ya never know what will happen! haha
Hello, Metaspencer!))) ❤❤❤ Congratulations with Ukraine arborist Peter Hobel, thanks for your videos and jobs. God bless you 😇🙏

Always good to see a new upload!
Thanks for that! much appreciated encouragement goes a long way
Ground crew is slackin 😂
You said it man. First snow and they’re off to Florida
Awesome job dam ground crew
Yeah where are those ground crew guys when ya need them!?
Ground crew was slacking!
yeah where were those guys??? WTF!?
Look at u go... rocking the 200 T and a new unicenter... Santa was very good to you😊😊..
Yeah I've got a couple of 200s now and really love them -- until yesterday, that is, when one fell off the truck and POW. Then there was one
Some nice easy ones for a change! That winch is getting a lot of use for sure. 😊
you said it! good times out there, if a bit chilly
@@metaspencer Chilly weather always makes things more difficult! Keep the videos coming!
It’s awesome to see the sweet winch setup in the new truck getting some use!
Much appreciated! thanks buddy
Great video. Interesting use of a farm jack. I'll have to remember that one.
It was a weird situation and the jack just came to mind. I tried pulling without the lift and that thing was going nowhere. With the jack I got a better angle and things started to move :) ya never know what will work out
Love it bud . Bsafe my yt friend. ❤
Thanks for that. Absolutely :)
Always enjoy your videos, Take care and keep warm.
thanks for that, man!
Nice wenching.
Oh I remember those days in that warm weather. Lol
Just think only 3 more months of it.
Glad to see the videos.
Great jobs
now we've got snow on top of ice so it's only getting better! I think I'll watch another YOuTube video haha :)
@@metaspencer dang
❤️👍👍👍
thanks for sharing, Spencer
Thanks buddy!
Happy New Year!
A gnarly start for ye, deftly handled. 👍
That pine cone! I love nature's little anomalies (try saying "nature's little anomalies" three times, fast.) 😊
Even more snow here today -- so yeah, lots of WINTER to enjoy this time of year :)
Nice work brother! 😸
Big thanks!
Awesome video! Good to see what you are up to.
thanks buddy!
Nice job Spencer it did look pretty soggy🫡
you said it man ... wild out there lately
Enjoyed the video. You have sure progressed in your tree working abilities. Great job.
I try to keep learning out there and progressing, instead of getting stuck in the old ruts :) hahaha thanks man
I really wish you'd get the 6.0 tree truck in rotation. This new one has no pizzaz.
I hear ya. I’ve got the older truck runnin but it conks out when hot so I’ve gotta tear into it and do some serious work. On the list for next winter
Great video, if you find the time I’d love to see a video going over what features you liked about the Infront mini skid vs what you like about the Wacker Newson. Cheers.
hey, thanks for the idea! yeah a comparison would be cool ... thanks for the idea
I just stumbled on a video about how Stihl saws have a summer and winter mode. Not sure if you'd heard that
yeah most have a little door you can switch around and then forget all about until the middle of summer when they start running like crap hahaha ... thanks man
Great editing
Thanks man -- always some interesting and good times out there
Nice work'
Big thanks!
Pohon tumbang 😮.
Yang kedua yang di panjat tinggi banget pohon nya
terima kasih telah melihat videonya!
You've got that know how and the do how , slinging and rigging , yee ha 😜
Haha thanks buddy … good times out there
This is not exactly and instructional comment... there are plenty of instructional comments out there, but I appreciate your checking it out... 😀Have a great 2024 dude
haha good one man! have a good year yourself!
@@metaspencer thanks Spence...
Hey Spencer,
I had an idea of how to solo rig limbs and chunks down and when I looked it up on RUclips, you came up (as well as Buckin' Billy Ray).
I ended up making my own slings out of some 12 Kn carabiners and 600 lb ratchet straps with a sewing machine. I'm rather impressed with myself for that. Saved a tonne and I tested my slings by hanging from each of them in the garage. Can't imagine I'll be using them for anything bigger than my weight.
Anyways, I love how you explain what your though process is.
Would you share how you ended up making your slings? (I'm assuming you made them yourself in a similar way).
Sounds like you're making some progress! Yeah I also sew all my own slings using nylon webbing and high-strength rated thread (for climbing equipment manufacturing) ... you can see many sewing patters online but I tend to go with 6 bars or so just to be safe. Remember that your static weight hanging on them is different than a shock load, so be careful out there! great hearing from ya
@@metaspencer Thanks for the reply.
I don't plan on using these slings for anything too crazy. With the way that I've sewn them I believe it's the webbing that will fail first before my stitch will. When I set up these slings in the canopy it will be for manual lowering with a rigging line so I won't be doing anything too crazy with them. Thanks for the input!
sounds like a plan! good stuff@@koreyhayes1621
What hitch/knot are you using between your rigging line and winch line? Right around 6:30
I used to use an alpine butterfly at moments like that, but I've started using a version of a bowline on a bite ... it unties easier than the butterfly, in my experience
@metaspencer I've seized alpine butterflies in the past in this same configuration
@@jonathanglanville7953 yeah that confirms my experience which is that this bowline on a bite is easier to loosen and doesn't slip
#200t/unilife
you'll understand my pain then as my fave 200t fell off the truck on the highway yesterday. obliterated! RIP
@@metaspencer get a hold of me
You are the tree cutting guru but Iam sure Iam better with the ladies especially the chubby chashers lol
Best comment in a whiiiiiile! haha
