    I love the magnetic tie backs, they're a great addition 👌 although I find them more useful on my Lanshan which can be quite noisy in the wind. I'll have to remember to ask about a discount for NHS if I decide to send for the single person tent. It's definitely worth a try 😊

    Hi Sarah,
    No work this weekend, summer seems to have arrived bringing with it Northern lights, and you are out with your new girl Diana, how lucky are we! So Diana is modelling some of Harry's bits, don't suppose she is too fussed. Interesting to see you bagging her up, the wind sure does add a bit of a challenge. Have you ever tried folding a map on a really windy day 🤔.
    Until next time

    After a very coffin like experience in my Lanshan 1 last Friday, I'm seriously considering an alternative lightweight tent for summer use. Either that or stick with my Helm 1 Compact. Would like to be able to A/B them side by side for a comparison. Enjoy the next one, ATB, Andy

    • @SoloSarahBX
      @SoloSarahBX  5 месяцев назад +1

      That would be great if you could Andy. I don’t mind making a comparison video 😂 I like to do that for the very reason you’ve pointed out.
      If I was to give you my own opinion after using both I’d say the Xmid wins when it comes to size and feeling less ‘coffin like’ very similar configuration for the inner bit way more space, headroom length and the orientation on the diagonal creates loads more room. The only downside to the helm when comparing is there’s only one entrance. For me that’s where the Xmid wins 👌🏻

    Loved this Sarah! Love the new summer photos on your homepage too, good to have a change for the new season ahead. Your subs have gone up to I've noticed 😊. The husband is chuffed he has now had an inside tour of Diana, he loves the tent and thinks they are quite reasonably priced compared to some others he had been looking at... only one problem for him though, he doesn't like trekking poles so I don't know how he thinks he would manage 😂. I enjoy watching the videos you have done when your not camping as much as I enjoy your camping ones it's nice to come along with you and see you explore places you've not always been before. My husband and I think your next non camping vid could be you paying that fav trig of yours a visit with a tin of paint 🎨 she could definitely do with a freshen up, you are most loyal to her and I think the colour needs to be pink! What do you think 🤔 😂. We must pay that trig a visit when we are next up there! S X.

      Ha ha! 😂 thanks Sadie, great that you enjoy my non-camp vids, I like to
      Concentrate mainly on camps but sometimes it’s a recce or appreciation of kit vid, that kinda stuff. You can buy poles to use in the tent instead of trekking poles. For me, it’s all about the fact I use them anyway so my pack weight is lighter on the whole. I’d love to paint the trig but I’m unsure if it’s classed as damage. I don’t think they are maintained as they aren’t used anymore. Pink would be hilarious but white is must be 🩷💜💚 I hope you visit flask edge one day and I hope I get to meet you both one day too ✨

    Absolutely gorgeous heavenly countryside and scenery Sarah, small wonder you are addicted, very best medicine for body and soul. One thing though that is always a worry to me here in such places in Ireland, where sheep, deer and wild goat freely roam is the danger of the tick that can carry lyme disease and I am always wary walking through dense foliage with bare legs certain times of year. I am sure I got bitten by such a tick some years ago, the round red circle, but luckily so far I've don't seem to have any problems and am wondering have you ever known anyone that has been affected by lyme disease in your neck of the woods as someone told me that particular disease can be extremely dangerous.

    • @SoloSarahBX
      @SoloSarahBX  5 месяцев назад

      It is addictive ☺️ I have never had an issue with a tick but I am all too aware of the risk’s especially in the landscapes I camp in. I have a tick remover and usually wear leggings to protect my legs. Unfortunately the biggest risk to me is the sun and I got burnt yesterday 😝 I should have learnt to wear sun block when I’m out walking in exposed spots such as this 🙏🏻

    Where in Cornwall did you go as a child? My parents drove us from Sheffield to Padstow (well, Porthcothan Bay) several years in a row in the early 80's, couldn't make it in a day so we camped in the cotswolds on the way down! 3 kids and 2 adults stuffed into an Austin Allegro - Such fond memories.

      We stayed near Wadebridge for all of my childhood and Padstow (before it got really busy these days) was our favourite evening hangout but we travelled everywhere! Daymer bay was our favourite beach. I’ve returned time and time again with my own family to The Lizard and Kennsck sands is our favourite amongst others on the Lizard peninsula a family owned static caravan when I was little to 6 man beast of a tent as an adult. I’m craving it, more so than being abroad ☺️ like yourself, so many happy memories ⛺️

      @@mrnobodieswildcampingadventure most welcome 🙏🏻 that review in the description will certainly tempt you more ha ha! I have read it very carefully and there’s some interesting points. Regarding the Silpoly material it’s a real winner, sags less when wet more UV protection and he states it lasting 250-350 nights compared to DCF especially in wet cold conditions. He also talks about the livability and battening down the hatches for longer nights as it is very spacious inside. I can also vouch for the easy to dry (let’s face it, we spend time drying our tents over here!) as the fabric is so thin. I’m looking forward to testing it in our British clag and wind 😂

    Hi Sarah! I live in Ireland and am really struggling trying to decide between the xmid 1 mesh or solid. I want a tent for harsher wind conditions and cold so I know I should get the solid but the color of the fly seems so BRIGHT and I want it for stealth camping. How do you feel about the color? Is it as bright in reality as it seems on camera? I thought maybe I'd really splurge and get the xmid mesh tent and add a solid inner but I think the fly is stronger on the solid too. I'd love some advice. Thanks!

      @SoloSarahBX  2 месяца назад

      @@robinferguson8911 hey 👋🏻 when I buy a tent it’s definitely stealthy or complimentary to my surroundings so I’d definitely say yes it’s a dark vivid green, well suited to the moorland bracken and trees I camp near here in the Peak District. It’s not as stealthy as my Hilleberg sand colour it’s also not as low profile as a bivvy but it’s stealth enough for me. This new colour is way more stealth than the previous model 👌🏻

      I think I do it differently mainly when I don’t have a perfectly flat pitch. Hi
    What's the usual price?
    I thought you'd have bigger import costs,sounds like a bargain.

      Tent fly = £119
      Tent inner =£94
      Shipping out of Canada 🇨🇦 £16
      Customs charge £40.94 (in my case, maybe different for others)
      Call that £270 total
      Great price for a great light weight versatile trekking pole tent 🏕️ 😊

    Glad to see you back wild camping just like Patrick. Love the hair colour too. Cheers, Stan.

      Thanks Stan 👋🏻 I’ve been out camping in the Durston twice now…hope you’ve caught a glimpse of the last camp vid before this? It was beautiful 🤩
