That's probably the greatest feeling in the world as a musician. Probably how Paganini felt; when you've written a piece so difficult that you'll be dead and gone before anyone else can learn to play it. 😎

The others, well I have heard them all, from Perlman through Bell and Vengerov to Hahn and so on. They are all great and I truly love and admire them. But even if they are the world references of the art of both the classic and modern violin playing, they cannot go beyond that.
What I love about this piece is it really takes after Paganini in its technique and virtuosity BUT it actually tries to create something beautiful rather than just exist as a 30 min excuse for someone to show off their skill with an orchestra behind them The one thing that I always disliked about Paganini's concertos is that there's literally no interaction between the soloist and the orchestra, they're just there to fill in the gaps while the soloist takes 100% of the attention which gets boring very quickly, Roman Kim combines Paganini's virtuosity and the aesthetic intent of the great Romantic composers with expressive harmonic language, captivating orchestral integration, and unparalleled violin playing, this is what I've always wanted to hear in violin concertos and I'm so happy you finally released the full concerto, спасибо большое за все что ты играешь, совершенно чарующие звуки! Как будто в другом измерении побывал! Насколько же ты поэтичен, великие Концерт, Роман ❤️
In violin concerti, it’s not common for the soloist to interact with the orchestra; it’s not solely Paganini that decided against it. Interaction between soloist and orchestra is common in piano concerti, but that’s about it. The main reason it’s not common to have musical back and forth is because it’s hard to play louder than an orchestra with one violin. Of course, it is done occasionally, but quite rarely. I'm afraid I also have to disagree that Paganini’s six violin concertos lack musical substance, melody, “beauty,” whatever you’d like to call it. There are some incredibly beautiful moments in his concertos, not to mention one of the most recognizable classical melodies is from his 2nd concerto. Concerti are a way for the composer/soloist to show off their playing ability. Many romantic concerti go in and out of virtuosity and operatic melody. Paganini’s first concerto definitely has many technical passages, but there are plenty of beautiful moments in the piece. Roman Kim’s violin concerto does the same, going in and out of technicality and musicality. Don’t get me wrong; I, too, find this concerto to be beautiful; it’s packed full of delicate, tender motifs and contrasting virtuosic phrases. I simply disagree that Paganini was “all technique.” Finally, I do have to point out that Roman Kim was far from the first to combine Paganini’s virtuosity with romantic melodies. What you are describing is precisely Charles-Auguste de Bériot. I highly suggest you listen to his works, especially the ten concertos he composed; they may satisfy what you’re looking for in a concerto. You will not find yourself disappointed with de Bériot, his melodic writing far surpasses anything Paganini or Roman Kim ever wrote.
Congratulations, what a truly amazing dual accomplishment, of not only composing an absolutely brilliant and a very emotionally expressive violin concerto, but of performing such a technically difficult piece, and doing so with great passion. Mr. Roman Kim, you are a master for the ages, and what you have done, with both the composition and performance, is at the very pinnacle of human musical achievement. I have been playing the violin for over 50 years, and hope some day to be able to see you. Your music seemed to range from that of the virtuosity of Paganini, to an almost joyful and triumphant combination of Bruch and Lord of the Rings. Just wonderful. Keep writing, as you have so much great music to share with the world, which truly makes it a better place. Thank you, as it was both a pleasure and an honor to hear this wonderful piece.
Immediately when the solo starts you can hear the Paganini in it. Almost as if he's come back to life to write us another great concerto. One of the most incredible things I've ever heard - or rather experienced - in my entire life. Congratulations, Roman Kim, on writing what will inevitably become one of the great 21st century violin works.

A true galactic dancer, a sense of space and movement from other dimension, Paganini would be delighted, a true hommege the first and part of the second movement, the third is Roman Kim, and just like your interptetation is fantastic, a true ode to lirism, and grandeur, pure uniqueness, thank you, and please, write more!
Incredibly beautiful and interesting violin concerto ! Really happy to discover this !
Beautiful music.
Sounds like a Studio Ghibli sound track, but more virtuosic! Truly amazing
that's what I thought as well, especially in the beginning of the first movement.
You are amazing my friend.. Thank you for sharing this great concerto of today.
A genius is discovered. Bravo Roman!
12:20 o.O amazing..
25:38 also
Wow 8:10 that Cadenza is so much of Wieniawski influence.
Starting from just before 27:0 it felt like a slow climb
to the top & then the downhill part (fall) of a roller coaster ride.
Sensational!🤯👌
Exhilarating!!😝
You wanna cry MORE🤗😆
Wow marvellous amazing no words to describe it I are such a Master Roman Kim and you deserve everything right now
Wonderful, thank you so much for sharing Maestro!!!
This is SOOOOO good. I could listen to RK play all day long. (I wish the coughing crowd would stop) :)
Thank you for uploading again Roman!
This is music for the soul!
AMAZING!!!!!
TwoSet should play this. See~ Notice the intro of 1st mvt, Roman's concerto is so much of an influence from Paganini violin concerto and then you can hear the detach'e influence from Brahms violin concerto. I can hear that so much. Well-Designed Concerto Roman ~ !!!
But who's gonna do the instrumentation, splitting it into parts for two violins, so that they are able to split the work and play it?
Don't take my word wrong, but listening to Kreisler, Heifetz, Milstein, Huberman & others musically you left little impression on me, technically you are for sure the master but what a astonishing composition :) Bravo Maestro it is such a joy to listen to a composition from now that ain't to absurd as atonal music where one finds a combinations of various styles put together and at the same time adding matter of your own. I stand in awe and rest me to thank your for this wonderfull concerto which should be one day be on the agenda of new musical talent to play :) Thank you for this gem :)
Agreed. I have yet to see someone who matches his technique but he is young yet. I think age will do his music making good!
@@aidanmays7825 This is a wonderful concerto let us hope he will write more lovely concerto's or symphonies :) For you the most talented i ever did encounter ( it's not the most musical version, Kreisler set the standards for miniature compositions esspecially is own works :) ) ruclips.net/video/NVXjHpZnj14/видео.html anyway i agree with my friend Doug aka 2nd violinist, that Heifetz could only have dreamt of this kind of technicall level :) Where Kreisler claimed there is a Heifetz born every 100 years a Hassid every 200 i'm quite sure he never heard Mary play but as she died at the Spanish Flue at the age of 21 in 1919 it's hard for Kreisler to have known her specially without internet or places as yt where one can find a lot these days if one knows where to look. How do you like Willy Burmester? ruclips.net/video/bG6s8_ToBa8/видео.html i just loves when the music ain't static and the metronome to be killed on the very first note ;) ^^
Если забить в ютубе "Роман Ким скрипка", то вылазит кто угодно, кто пиарится на этом имени, но не видео Романа. Как ютуб затирает истинно прекрасное. Сколько знакомых не могли найти его по рекомендации, только по ссылке
Spectacular Masterpiece!!!
Sounds like classical music, and, yet, it isn't. But I'm quite sure it'll become classical, for, violonists of the future will play it on...and on...It's beautiful and touching...thank you for bringing a masterpiece into this world.
It is classical, as classical is a music style
@@birdmoder right.
@@birdmoderExcept it isn't. This is just film-music without a story. Music simple enough to make sense first time you listen, i mean everyone loves the sound of I V vi IV. 27:14
@@jonatan0_0 How do you know there is no story? Even film music is written to a story/script! Maybe simple enough to make sense on a macro level but once you dig in there are just endless nuances everywhere. Just like with any Roman Kim composition it's safe to say that nobody commenting here would be able to play it as well as he does.
@@jonatan0_0 I'm pretty sure there WAS a story going on (unfolding) in his head as he composed.
Every piece of art tells a "story" from the artist's point of view to his audience's (or viewrs') perspective.
It can't be helped🤗😛😁
BRAVO !!!
Amazing! Very beautiful.
Wow that 1st movement 0:10 ~ 19:34 will take many listens to fully sink-in! And of course the whole thing is so refreshing and wonderful! The two other movements sound more refined here than those published earlier but some sound gets saturated here. Perhaps need a higher dynamic range mics/amp setup.
Semplicemente fantastico !!!
DEVI COMPORRE E ESEGUIRE LA TUA MUSICA !!!
Complimenti !
Bravo Roman 🔥
How come you were not discovered yet by much people in RUclips? You're godly talented!
Can you make a solo orchestra again like what you did on your previous video Eine Kleine Nacht Musik? Its where you play all parts and play it solo on a violin?
have you seen his J.S. Bach - Air 'solo'? ruclips.net/video/BgAw93L9gG0/видео.html
If you haven't seen his most recent upload I suggest you watch it (:
This is so beautiful. Thank you.
Bravo Maestro🔥🔥🔥
Amazing!! Absolutely loving it!!
me waiting for roman kim to play the entire orchestra
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Splendid!
Would love to see you collab with Tina S! Your composing talent for genre-bending technical innovations would be a match-made-in-heaven!
Has Tina even composed anything yet? It's been years since she went inactive. She is very talented but she isn't an epitome of guitar technique by any means.
classical musicians dont collab (for the most part)
Amazing 🤯👏❤️
Waiting eagerly for your next album! Can you please post a full video of you playing?
Roman Kim!
What do You think? Your soul was in the past soul of Niccolo Paganini? I'm really curious!
SO GOOD I can almost forgive the coughings
im speechless...Beautiful!!!
Great great piece. Thank you.
