  • In this video, I test ride the mini chopper. It's been a long time coming but this thing finally hits the road. I find that the gearing is too tall and the front wheel wobbles. The front wheel is an easy fix (just tighten the spokes where needed), but the sprocket is another story with a surprise ending. Hint, I'm going to need a new rear set up.

Because it was a test ride. You don't normally ride rough on your first outing with a project because chains and cables stretch, bolts may come loose, and alignment issues may be present. After the initial ride and addressing these issues, then you can ride as rough as you want. In fact, when I did go full throttle, my chain popped off because I had an alignment issue with the sprocket. And because of that, my rear tire locked up at 39mph. Keep in mind that I was cruising at 39mph, this thing can go a lot faster, but my acceleration is horrible because of it. My gearing is extremely tall on this bike so I have very slow acceleration. The 49cc wouldn't be able to handle it. As for driving on the wrong side of the road, I do this so I can see what's in front of me. It's a lot easier to avoid something that you see then what you can't see.
