So I finally get to ride it. The anticipation was real, it's been like 5 months when I started this build. In my defense, I was going through some things in that amount of time. Anyways, its a roller!!

In this video, I make a custom exhaust. It sounds good for a cheap muffler, and less restrictive than the original. I also finish painting the trike and take it out for a ride.

With this build, I'm going to try to put a motor on this trike. I've built one before, but I'm attempting to improve from the previous design. I want to try and make it where you can bolt everything up just as if it was a motor kit you would get from eBay.

Sprocket Ratio for The Motorized Trike Explain
What grease did you use?
I always come back and watch these /your tricycle build videos , I’m still trying . 1st 100cc motor stopped working off just starting it , 2nd Predator 212 hemi stated probably 5 total times as month just flew by. Now my 2nd 212 starts no problem but now the chIn from the jackshaft to drive sprocket breaks as I add throttle . I’m boping it just beeds to li exupstraivbt
Hi friend, I really liked this project of yours, but is there any way you could do another project like this, but now with a homemade mini quadricycle similar to this reverse tricycle?
Yeah, that would be the natural progression at this point. I will do this on one of the bmx bikes I have and slap a 20'' tricycle rear conversion on it. It'll be a bit before I do that tho.
@@rick14377 It would be cool if you built a mini quadricycle using a BMX in the same way you used the BMX to make this reverse tricycle.
That’s sick I like the suspension
That’s pretty sick I like the suspension in the front
Looks fun
Nice, I built something like that in my youth. 🤠
Freaking awesome build!
Very cool.
Use a laser
Should’ve stretched the rear
BRO IM DESIGNING THE SAME THING A REVERSE TRIKE WITH BIKE PARTS AN OVER POWERED ELECTRICK MOTORS , iM SO GLAD I'VE SEEN THIS CHANNEL AWESOME HOPE I GET IDEAS FROM YOU!M AN I DONT HAVE A RUclips CHANNEL SO DONT WORRY SHOWING ME COOL STUFF LOL *GBYAA!!!!!!!!!*
Thanks man! I try to do more experimental diy things

pretty cool but you probably need a brace above and between the shocks. Not sure where you plan on adding the engine but something reinforcing the space between the tops of the shocks would do well
Yeah, I was going to add a brace there and across the control arms too but I'm waiting to see where my clearance is for the steering.
Very Cool!.... I'd Fab A Nice Pan To Sit On....Maybe A Modded Tractor Seat?
Why in the world would you mount the motor in that spot? Dumb location, first off, and you wasted so much time and resources fabricating parts. Not sure why you didn't mount it in the basket like a normal person and avoid fabrication and welding.
Well Mr. Tayler, I already explained why I mounted the engine in that spot. I didn't want to lose the rear basket and I already built a trike with the motor in the back. The whole purpose of this build was to keep the basket. You can try and mount it in the front but with that size of engine, the steering will be heavy. Also, I don't consider fabricating parts that are crucial to the build a "waste of time" especially when it was a success.
@@rick14377 You and I define 'success' very differently, little buddy. Enjoy your rudimentary redneck methods
Youre a joke, little buddy. You're not successful.
Except its not a success, youre just a bonehead.
Can you do a cool electric trike? Ya know...for us over 70 that cant breathe all that bad air. ( Yes i have a diesel schoolie)(My bad) But anything helps😂
I want to do a hybrid, both E and G trike. They can operate together or independently from each other.
What's the name of the trike that is being sold online?
I don't know the name of the brand, but it's an adult tricycle w/ 7 speed. You can look it up on amazon or walmart.com.
Ok. So motor= electric. Engine= gas. I'm watching but I'm not interested in gas engines for my trike ( only because) as I'm old with lung damage. I do ride acoustic bikes although somewhat at a snails pace. I'm waiting to see a mid drive motor or homemade rear motor i. e. Electric
I have an iron horse tandem mountain bike. I'm putting a saddle. ( English). So I watch crazy people invent new ways to ride. Giddyap.
Thanks a lot!
Great video!
I think I'm gonna gas motor my trike. I'm gonna use a Honda 50cc 2 stroke out of a 2015 Honda Giorna scooter. That engine is quiet AF and does 60k with restrictor in.
It'll be worth it, I always enjoyed motorizing trikes. It's definitely a challenge.
I have a 100 cc 4 stroke motor kit for a regular bicycle , I’m trying to put on my Schwinn meridian tricycle . I didn’t mount the motor but sized it up and it looked like the drive chain to the sprocket would barely clear the frame , any suggestions because your motor is where mine will go
3 things: You can use tensioners or idler sprockets to avoid having the chain rub on the frame. You could also use a jack shaft, that will help with alignment. It will also allow you to mount the sprockets where you need them. If you are going to mount the engine in the center like I did in this build, I would highly recommend the jack shaft. I believe you can buy a bolt on jack shaft so that way you don't have to weld it on. I think the Schwinn meridian is an aluminum frame so welding might not be an option. Lastly, if the driven sprocket on the axle doesn't fit in-between the frame, you may have to use a smaller axle sprocket. If you do this, just increase the driven sprocket on the jack shaft.
Thank you , appreciate it. This being my 1st gas bicycle anything I just want to do it as right as possible
Question: Where did you get the jack shaft if you didn’t make your own and how long inch wise
@@WinstonMyers-il5dl I got the Jack shaft from OMBwarehouse. They have complete jack shaft kits, and I got the 12'' shaft kit. I tend to get larger shafts because I can always cut them to size. They come with 2 sprockets, a 17t 40 chain and a 13t 40 chain. However, since the sprocket on my clutch is 35 chain, I didn't use the 17t sprocket. Instead, I used a 36t 35 chain sprocket. You can use any size sprocket and chain, just as long as the sprocket bore is the same diameter as the shaft.
@@WinstonMyers-il5dl You can cut the jack shaft with some power tools like a chop saw, band saw, portable band saw, or angle grinder. If you don't have power tools, you can use a hack saw. that will take a while to cut through and it may not be a straight cut. the jack shaft I used didn't have threads on either end, through you can use a jack shaft with threaded ends. If you have to cut a jack shaft with threaded ends, you can use a lock collar on the side you cut. I recommend welding the lock collar to the shaft, but if you don't have a welder, the set screws will be good enough. Just make sure you torque the set screws down and use lock tight.
Yeah, your clutch should not chatter at cruising. Speed and a nice muffler would make it so pleasurable. But nice job all the sa bigger sprocket in the back would help you out extremely well!
Awesome build. I think engine in the front is the way to do it. 🍻
Why the porn music?
I just use the music from youtube's studio, if you dont' like it, I won't use it.
Why are you pedaling unless you meet the police. Because you need license to operate, I been told although I not worried bout it when I build mine
Ohh it looks good! Thanks for the ride.
I did a build like this as well. I wish I could post a photo of it, but the design you did for yours is honestly one of the worst ways you can do it. I put my motor where the basket would go. Makes it much safer so that you’re not getting in the way of moving parts or the hot exhaust. Much less work involved too
But you lose the basket, the utility of the tricycle. I've built a trike with the motor in the back (my yellow trike), and it is way easier to build but no basket. Would like to see your trike.
@@rick14377 You can easily put another basket up front. Which is my plan. But the motor up front honestly makes no sense unless it’s the two wheel bike 🚲 with a small motor in between the frame. Idm losing the basket for a more sensible construction
This would be the ultimate store runner. You could carry a keg or a person on the back. Hauling camping stuff...🍻
Good . That guy really has potential. I've always wanted to build my own bike with a street bike engine. Maybe you just forced me to do it, haha.
It looks to be geared too high, lower it a bit so it can rev more, shouldn't need to pedal it at all really!
I pedal for exercise and to save on the clutch.
i want to see a long/camping trip on this one!
Finaly someone els that's working on a Trick I have a 100cc 2 stoke, Using a Jack shaft kit for a 5 speed sprocket. Be safe out there Owe are you using the original rear drum brake?
Well I went to your channel, and answered my own question about brakes and all, thank you for sharing your project.
@@Patrick-rk9vw yeah, I only did that because I couldn't find a hub with a 15mm diameter at the time so instead I welded the 5/8 spacer to it. I found a company that sells trike parts, and they have a 15mm hub but it's too late. I already did the damage.
Basket that was funny happened to mealot
Hi little Billy here I'm putting a 100cc on a trike and can't figure how to install rear sprocket to back axle drive.
So, you have two options, you either buy a hub from amazon which is $50, or you make the hub yourself. I made my own hub with a 5/8'' spacer and welded it to the drum brake. You can also use lock collars but keep in mind, the axle is 15mm in diameter and the spacer or lock collars are 5/8''. So, try your best to center it up on the drum brake. I also made my own jackshaft to help align the sprocket on the engine and the axle. I do have a video on this, I think its part 4 or 5 were I do this. You can also check out my newer video where I build another one of these trikes. Part 4 is what you're looking for.
What is need on a 3wheeler,is how the drive sprocket is installed on rear drive whees axle ,show how motor drive sprocket aliens with 32 teeth axle drive on rear axle. Could you do a flim on it. Thank you from little bill
Hello . Congratulations on your great work! Technically, this is very impressive and very interesting. Great design.. Does it run well?
Thanks man! that means a lot, and i'll upload an update soon.
Have you ever heard of those shiny things called LIGHTS.
It "was,"the same bike I think
What do you mean?
@@rick14377 I've built the same bike only different motor placement
Great job fabricating and customizing!!! ;-) I'm a ole guy who was a mechanic my whole life, did a few Harley's but to old to ride big bikes... I did motorized two wheelers as I got older, but have since gave them up to my kids... The video is inspiring!!! Maybe I got one more in me, a trike which at almost 70 is much safer to ride... The motor you selected is enough power bro, any more and cornering would become a concern... Probably a concern already on 3 wheels!!! With few hills around here I'm considering a 79cc but I like your selection and will wait and see what you experience... ;-) Use some washers and longer bolts to install the chain guard might be a good idea to keep your pant legs clean a free from getting caught... Enjoy your rides champ and thanks for the inspiration!!!
Thanks man! If you do try this, I don't think you'll regret it. Trikes are more convenient then bikes and safer, just as long as you take corners slow.
wow using plastic for you weld cloth protection
It surprisingly worked.
if install a differential ,will make the e-trike more attractive and more safety when riding 🤭
👍
Just a tip for you, bro there’s a way easier method for the back sprocket wrap tape around hub until the sprocket fits on tight then put your bolts in and tighten down and it will stay straight
I never knew there was a drum sprocket andddddd drum brake wayyyy easier
Get rid of them fenders. Subbed anyways.
I know the fenders are a hazard, but I wanted to see how it would look. After this video, I threw them away.
Minor adjustments are part of the deAL. yEAH TURN THE screw while you hold the clutch, nothing to it. Good looking bike! Cheers!
Fender on the front no good
Get a "shoulder bolt" and grind a flat taper to fit.
