"Does your master hear me? Atlas!? You can kill me, but you will never have my city! My strength is not in steel and fire! That is what the parasites will never understand. A season for all things: a time to live, and a time to die. A time to build, and a time ... TO DESTROY! Andrew Ryan R.I.P.
6:53, the aftermath of his visit to Eve’s Garden where he learned that his child was sold to the enemy. The tone of his voice showed signs of sadness and betrayal upon learning of Jasmine’s actions. He sounds like a broken man, his city was falling apart, war was breaking out and his seed is in enemy hands.
Interesting. Throughout the first game (until the big twist), we're led to believe Ryan's essentially a tragic villain. From the twist onward--through this game, all the way to the Burial At Sea mini-games, he's basically an anti-hero, and we sadly nod and say, "We may not agree with the methods you used, Andrew...but your motives were in the right." The Dionysus Park tape actually helps explain (a little) why he censored that artist in the first game. Ironic how Bill McDonaugh (who's held to be the most moral character from beginning to end) is indirectly responsible for "legitimizing" Sophia Lamb.
If you wouldn't mind I'd love to hear more. All of them in fact. Whenever you find the time, could you continue uploading the diaries? I would most appreciate it.
Does anyone remember in Bioshock 2 where Ryan said something in a very angry tone, and he said something like "only possible if A = A!". I remember hearing it on the X Box 360 version, but I can't find it. I'm looking into the parallels between Ryan and Ayn Rand (no, I'm not an objectivist), and I remember him saying that. I can't find the audio diary though.
Yeah it was from one of Ryan and Lamb's public debates, the first one I believe. I think the log is titled as a Sophia Lamb log though that's why you dont see it in this video.
Pretty much, he can inspire anyone and is a true Altruist. His only problem though is human nature. We all want to control something. If you deny outside sources, you selfishly worship yourself. If you look down on people bellow you, you selfishly hate them for giving up or simply not having what you have. The thing is we are all selfish in nature on how we view the world. I mean why else do we get into arguments about ideals?
@Mad1093 while i agree you that the very concept of the fact that they expanded a conflict that seems to have ended is questionable. the fact is this has a excellent game with a wonderful storyline, i would advise you to play it if you havent.
There's something SUPREMELY ironic about the end of the first audio diary. Poor Ryan, completely unaware that he already has a son.

Currently reading Bioshock: Rapture, and it all fits so perfectly.
I like how ryan sounds like a broken man in some of the audio tapes
Because his city is falling apart
Fact: Andrew Ryan is voiced by the same actor who plays Quark in Deep Space Nine.
Thanks for posting this. The voice acting in this game is probably the best out of any game i've played.
thanks a ton. I'm glad your uploading so many. Its cool to see each one from each person in order like this.
I ultimately don't agree with Ryan but I like listening to his rhetoric. Sofia Lamb wasn't nearly as well written as Ryan.
Sofia represents what the genius is held back by. The collective mass of idiots and blind sheep.
@@noisemarine561 she is what Ryan, and others like him, were trying to escape
Actually, that diary was probably before he was conceived.

one dislike was from frank fontaine
Vote Andrew Ryan for president 2017
Someone like Andrew Ryan would make the WEF crap their pants
I vote frank fontaine
I hope they make a Citizen Kane style movie about The Rise and fall of Andrew Ryan leading up to Bioshock 1
Does anyone know where I can find an mp3 version of the song Grace sings on the Paupers Drop audio diary ?
@Kangea
Awesome :D Thanks a lot, I was looking for the dialouge for a while! It's so amazing!
