This show is really coming togeather quite well, Nathan has grown way more comfortable with it and feel a bit more at home with it. And thank you Cpt Lee and Andertons for giving the bass players some love.
I play the Little Mark 3 which has the same front controls and without a pedal I can get a pretty aggressive sound. So I imagine that this amp can as well if you play around with it. Love this brand of amps :) Great video lads!
I really like Markbass products ! Great review ! But why are you sitting in front of the amps that I think you want to sell ? This is a video ? We should be able to see the product huh ?
The greatest thing about Markbass tone is it doesn't color the sound like say Ampeg. You hear the true tone of whatever Bass you may have.I had a Little Mark II till it got stolen! Great amp!
I had just purchased the Ampeg 212 Pro Neo, It colored the sound by farting, I have also have the 2x10 markbass Traveler cab, same volume and eq no farting. Just I am using the Ninja 1000 amp. I just ordered the 2x12 Ninja cab, waiting for it to come in..
There should be sound like bassist video's. I know a lot of people tend to run simple rigs but theres people like Chris Wolstenholme, Pino Palladino, Tim Commerford, Justin Chancellor, Billy Sheean, Victor Wooten ect ect
+Benji Faith A lot of metal and prog bass players have really great tones and I would really enjoy a "sounds like" series digging into those and other iconic bassist's tones. And for God's sake, get Dave to do it. In fact, I would really like to see a "Sound like Dave Hollingworth" :D Dave.
It sure would have been nice to see close-ups of the front of the amp, the back of the amp, the front of the speaker cabs, and the back of the speaker cabs - luxuries normally afforded to guitar gear to the point where demos here (Andertons/Chapman) actually include the smell sniffing of guitars! If you want to sell bass gear, don't treat it as an afterthought......
I use the 1x12 combo (500 watts) for punk/rock/metal! This amp can be for anything. Put in a few pedals and you can do anything with these amps. Love Markbass
I also use the Mini CMD121P. I place mine on top of the New York 121 ext. cab. But the new Ninja 122 kinda makes me wanna sell my ext. cab n get a Ninja 122 under my combo. Three twelves...wonder how that'd sound (I don't have the fundage to buy two 122 cabs and that new 1000w head).
+Andertons Music Co I use the Mini CMD 121P on top of a NY121. Was thinking about swapping the NY121 with one of these Ninja 122's. Three twelves in all. Would probably move enough air for me. I like the sound of Markbass as it is, but which pedal(s) do you recommend to mimic the SVT sound?
Not sure about the green and I’d loose the ninja badge. How about the Ninja 102-500 combo? Looks like a great combo 300w @ 4 ohms but can’t find a single review on the thing and no store has one to test!
The size and fullness of the larger cabinet doesn't really come through in the recording, I'm sure it's much more apparent in the room. What I hear is the small cab sounds more direct and in your face as well as tighter. I'd certainly use it for recording or in the home.
These bass videos you gentlemen are putting up are great! I've been watching the channel for the past two years or so, in the hopes there would be bass videos. It's nice to see that there is a focus on more than guitar on the channel. I was curious if you could look into the Fender Rumble series? Keep up the good work!
A noob question, do i need to have a speaker connected to the amp when i turn it on or can i record using just connected to the line out? I want to record at home and can't turn up the amp.
From the markbass support page: Can I use my Markbass amp without connecting to a speaker cabinet? Yes, any Markbass amp can be used as a preamp only. We recommend that when doing so, you turn off the master volume (not essential, but it's better for the amp). The gain control and/or the Line Out level control will regulate the output from the amp.
A word of advice.. If you are trying a new amp, use a bass that is familiar to everyone. That pretty much destroys the review. If you use a weird bass like a Fender Dimension, then compare with a reference amp at least.
Not the one he is using, the bridge pickup is further back closer to the bridge instead of the "MM" placement. The 1 pickup version is closer to a MM, but still not a "classic" sound by any means. I still think it was a poor choice of gear for a demo.
"Richard Bona is a cool dude"......He is one of the 10 best players alive at the moment for the love of god.....I was about to press unsubscribe when I realized that I had not subscribed.
Why are you guys sitting directly in front of the amp & cabs you're trying to review/sell?? Stupid things like this just shows the lack of respect reviewers and companies have for Bass-Players..........

Richard Bona's nickname in Camaroon was Ninja..... (see Richard Bona at NYU interview)

I mean it’s a bass amp, you typically play in front of them on stage fyi.
Do you have to sit in front of the gear you're demoing?
i would love two bassists or a guitarist for nathan to jam to. I like the format and love the videos but i enjoy the jamming of lee and chappers etc
The greatest thing about Markbass tone is it doesn't color the sound like say Ampeg. You hear the true tone of whatever Bass you may have.I had a Little Mark II till it got stolen! Great amp!
Those bastards, they took Mark . No blessing for them.

I love some metal related bass reviews for the low end metal bassists. Maybe a bass drive/fuzz shoot out

His noodling on that bass whilst the captain was messing with the controls was amazing! He should get a nickname
Sam Davies the noodlemaster perhaps.
“Nathan”.
I would love to see Fender American Vintage line of basses!
Had me cracking up toward the end when you told Nathan: "You don't really care, do you?". Great vid though, thanks.

with two 2x12 8 ohm ninja in parellel for a 4 ohm load that little ninja head pumps out 1000 watts... crazyyyyy loud..

Thank you for the good review! Did you try the cabinets with less powerful Markbass amps like Big Bang or Nano Mark 300?
"Turtles are all green man" xD Danish Pete is awesome :)
+Pedro Jesus He is kinda right though :)
+Andertons Music Co I know, that's what makes it awesome xD
Is it called a Ninja because it's Kawasaki Ninja green?
+Jack Norris For copyright reasons I doubt the company would ever admit to that. Having said that, I doubt you're far from the truth.
+Jack Norris or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Green
If I bought this for my bass, and wanted to buy an electric drum kit, would I be able to use it for the drums too?
Are you going to be using the same bass for testing different amps?
The size and fullness of the larger cabinet doesn't really come through in the recording, I'm sure it's much more apparent in the room. What I hear is the small cab sounds more direct and in your face as well as tighter. I'd certainly use it for recording or in the home.

I second the notion to review the Fender Rumble series!
Damn too early. Have to wait for that glorious 1080p
Lee's "Ninja accent" is fookin' incredible.
Yes! More love for bass gear!
Its called the ninja because richard bona did jujitsu and supposedly thats what his instructor called him because he was really good
Great video!
Could you review the big bass muff pi pedal?
6 years now with Mark Bass amps, I'll never use anything else.
Do the TC Electronic Combo450 amp!
Assuming the power rating is accurate, this could be the perfect head for a fEARful 12/6 owner: 500W for one, and 1000W for two.
What size is the bigger cab
A noob question, do i need to have a speaker connected to the amp when i turn it on or can i record using just connected to the line out? I want to record at home and can't turn up the amp.
+Sahil Mehta depends on the amp, but most do require a speaker to be attached.
Ohk. Can i use the little make ninja without the speaker connected? Thank you for the quick reply btw :)

thank you for the info! :)
If you've got a green turtle head, you really need to see a doctor.
Please can you get Andy James For a
Captain Meets!
It's official. The Captain says size DOES matter!
captain is awesome but it would be nice to have two bass players talking about the gear
At last a bass amp demo that doesn't spend the whole playing time twiddling about on the top strings.
That ninja impression tho
Kawasaki had (has?) the same green for their "Ninja" motorcycles. I don't think that's a coincidence.
Please please please please please please review a Rickenbacker 4003?
The name is after Richard Bona is nickname in jiu jitsu.
Isn't Ninja the Richard Bona sig? I was lead to believe that.
+Jenda Hrbek Answered right after. Ha.
The 2x12 costs less. Interesting.
+David Slone The single 12 Ninja cab weighs 5lbs more than the 2-12.
svts would be nice too
Haven't he played with The Rolling Stones?
Ohms?
2 gents trying to work after having a couple of pints with lunch?
Mystery resolved : Richard Bona's nickname is the the Ninja...
It's called Ninja because Richard Bona's nickname is "the ninja". He gives the ninja look to anyone that irritates him.
A word of advice.. If you are trying a new amp, use a bass that is familiar to everyone. That pretty much destroys the review.
If you use a weird bass like a Fender Dimension, then compare with a reference amp at least.
Pablo Cavallo eh, I think the Dimension is basically the same concept as a MM stingray. Or Fender's take rather

you are not lee you are the captian
What is the computer connectivity ? There is no USB port ?
my god play it
It's still 5:55 am
The Captain needs to learn about acoustic coupling.
otro bajista!
Nathan kinda has a pretty sinister laugh.
Who hired these Dudes to do
This video?
Fear The Walking Bass
Chatty gabby!
Early as hell
That was litterally the worst bass to demo it with. That thing shines on single coil/P bass or even active pickups.
:-)
Haha 5 strings on a bass, next they'll be bloody making 8 string guitars or something.
Only trolling :)
+Beat Hermit First seven strings! :)
They won't do that mate cos its an odd number and everyone knows that's super unlucky on guitar
Beat Hermit
I will let my 6 stringers when 13-string axe will be in shop...:)
"Richard Bona is a cool dude"......He is one of the 10 best players alive at the moment for the love of god.....I was about to press unsubscribe when I realized that I had not subscribed.
Maybe he's a cool dude AND one of the ten best players alive. Just trying to tickle your intellect a bit...
Why are you guys sitting directly in front of the amp & cabs you're trying to review/sell??
Stupid things like this just shows the lack of respect reviewers and companies have for Bass-Players..........
ShynAwkward dude calm down
Frickin bass players man. Pfft. Great sounding amps though
