    This also functions as an awesome “what’s inside?” Video. Nice work!

    do you not need to re-lubricate the inner components?

    I’m new to this stuff and I wish you showed how to take the inside stuff carefuly out since I bought a dewalt like that as my first drill.

      Congratulations on your first drill! Thank you for your input, that's a good idea. I might need to do a video like that. General powertool maintenance :)

      Thanks! Have some more grimy tools I need to take care of as well, just need to finish up a few projects first!

    Life hack: electronics cleaner and compressed air. You could have thrown the plastic shell in the dishwasher too.

    Polish your Tool, LOL! Nice video, never took any of my power tools apart, have a few failed batteries I might look to see if I can repair.

      😁 Thanks! Yeah, I have a few old ones that drains really fast. Wonder if it's possible to replace the battery cells inside them. Good cells are easy to come by in the states. A bit more difficult over here :)

    Couldn’t you have done this without taking it apart? What did you lose for cleaner?

    Def prefer taking care my tools but hard to do in the field when working with others. Cuz u got to worry about other peeps that u can't control.

    No description on materials used to clean!!?

    • @TryingToBuildStuff
      @TryingToBuildStuff  Год назад +1

      Sorry about that! I used mostly a generic degreaser and some white spirit :)

  • @Eric-jx3lb

    just unscrew everything and put into a dishwasher; dry it, oil the gear; done

    Using a toothbrush would seem faster and easier, and wont cause any scratches.

    a worthy endeavor. one's tool should always have that nice polished look, better yet if someone else do that cleaning tho ^^
    anyhow, you should look into so you don't mess up any warranties or so when you disassemble the rest, would suck quite badly if it gets voided because you open it up :D

    • @TryingToBuildStuff
      @TryingToBuildStuff  2 года назад +1

      😅
      Yeah, no warranties I can void on these. But the more expensive ones have electronic components tracking all sorts of tampering!

      @@TryingToBuildStuff good, never knew about the tracking.notherwisr dewalt is quite nice with 3year warranties on their power tools :p

    You failed to mention what kind of liquid you used to clean it with?

    • @TryingToBuildStuff
      @TryingToBuildStuff  Год назад +1

      Sorry about that! It was mostly a very basic degreaser and some rubbing alcohol :)
