that was weird the other day when this channel posted that elon musk thing. then Dean posted on the community page saying he got hacked. now we are back to business with some great repair videos! because of this channel, it gave me the confidence to open up my makita grinder. dusted and newly greased! thanks, Dean, for these uploads.
Was talking to a mate about your channel other day, really great to see you fixing this stuff, these days a lot of the time it just gets chucked, either actually in the bin or a corner of the garage, 'go and buy a new one'. I've a Dewalt 796 getting ready for a new chuck and watching your video reckon i'll be able to get it done. 👍
I know its to save cost, but metal rubbing on plastic aint no way to go. Its like a dude who never been in a fight going against Connor McGregor in a ring.
This is what happened to my DCD778, which I repaired but was appalled that a critical part was plastic. Couldn't trust it so never bought another combi drill from Screwfix/intended for the DIY market. Now we can benefit from Dean's experience and free advice.
@@Marcus1954s Its not only powertools, but most items now are designed properly, but in manufacturing phase are replaced by cheap materials to cut cost. With expensive powertools you think its a high quality, but in case of Mafell, well it isnt.
Congrats on getting the channel back, that must have been a real unexpected stress! I bet you learned about two-factor real fast.
@@TheBertjeT this happened to Linus Tech Tips and I think he said this hack bypasses the two factor protection.
i had 2 factor authentication and backup email address. The hackers got in a changed them to thier own 2 factor and installed passkeys also
@@deandohertygreaserseems kinda scarry. Do you know how it happened?
@@deandohertygreaser Damn!

Welcome back my friend!!😂
Wonder why they don't make the gearbox casing out of metal instead of plastic, surely it'd last longer?
