I love that for the vanilla detailing they went:
-castles
-abandoned factories
-normandy beach
I completely feel the Normandy beach vibes! That was my first thought when I saw that!
The easter egg tabs cracked me up…double pun very much intended 😊
Paradox has gotten so much better at making map for C:S over the years! I love your map tiers because they give us time to step back and appreciate the map its self. Thanks egg!
I love Noyou port. One of the first maps I played on. The gorge, the interchanges, coastline. Really creative build opportunities on that one.
These help me to make new maps and I love your explanation and depth here since 12k keep going makes me happy that you hit 60k and the laughs I just look forward
It's never too late to make a map tier video! I always look over these videos whenever I'm thinking about starting a new city.
I build my newest city on Noyou Port and I absolutely love the map, one of the best vanilla maps. One minor gripe is that there is only one rail connection and it's a bit out of the way. No problem on PC with mods, but if I was playing vanilla, getting a decent train network might be a struggle.
Also love the custom interchanges so much. Sadly in my save had to demolish them as I wanted to convert them into 4 way ones. That hurt
Great tier vid as always. I think it’s worth remembering that they had to make these maps flat in the 25 tile radius so you could maximise the airport areas without them being really out of place
In regards to the egg smuggling, if you manage to find any, I need some please :D Great vid
Egg's tier videos are balm for the soul!
i love the extra tabs you have open😂
Egg misses out on the Cities 2 announcement, so decides to do a 14 month old DLC instead :P Seriously though, for people like me who this DLC pre-dates (I'd owned the game for ages before I properly started playing) videos like this are helpful. Cheers ears.
He was in the Pardox youtube chatting with people during the stream. 🤔
Oh wow. I don't think I've ever seen an oxbow lake in a CS map before! Definitely gonna try Noyou Port sometime 👌
Egg smuggling near me? I got you covered
I hope in CS2 the Vanillla Maps look more realistic, especially the rivers and tributaries are most often too much and the shapes are not something you would see in nature. That bothers me often.
Noyou Port remindes me a ton of the north shore line of lake superior along the Minnesota border (minus the mountians!)
Egg, I've decided to try and create my own maps when starting a new city. Do you have any tips for me?
I do not. There are many experienced map makers in the discord and we have a map specific room in there. I'd start by asking there 👍
As someone who's only really playing my own maps my top tips are:
Start with the overall terrain (detail later) and get an overall layout of the map you want to create!
Create some unique features on the map (high mountains, railbridges over a valley, archipelagos etc.)
Detail every tile seperately so that everywhere feels sortof unique
Get at nice theme, Vanilla cliff textures in particular are horrendous
Use Moveit!
Hope that helps
The one with the well done rivers, I wouldn't touch the terrain and build around it. I'd probably add more rocks to it lol
I can see a potential Southern Gulf Coast themed build happen on Hanami Bay.. (I was really impressed by that map) That map may have it's perks but it screams New Orleans!! :) also.. there is no mountains in New Orleans, Louisiana.. mostly bayous/swampland because NOLA is below sea level and mostly flat..
The Nanpu Bridge in Shanghai China would give you a heart attack (spiral in one end)
Can you do this maybe for all map there are? Would be great to see the differences
It’d have been interesting if your views would have been different if you reviewed these on launch without us having the subsequent maps from the newer DLCs
{Explain}= In my opinion,(why)?,
•Because of what I commented, I really love your channel and everything you put the terraform
Noyou port is the main reason I've considered buying Airports.
I'd rather have a vanilla T interchange than the absolute absurdity that the inclusions in Map Pack 2 have. I'm going to probably remove the interchange anyway, but the T is more functional and easily adapted.
....so. Yeah. That custom T-interchange on Hanami Bay. Just me, or...?
Intro Music?
New Vid!!
25 tiles on remastered? I presume that ain't the xbox one ?
Nah mate. Only on the new gens
@OVERCHARGED EGG 😪 oh well looks like I'll be choosing a new console once csl 2 is out
I think you are being polite, and that's ok. Me however, I'm rude AF - these maps are shit mate, never gonna play on them
🤭
None of them
Clearly failed geography GCSE, doesn’t even know what an oxbow lake is!!! 😂
We going to talk about the tabs in the browser then OE lol ?
Does City Planner like Eggs ?
Can Eggs Legally Fly ?
Last but not least, Egg smuggling near me
Great video as always!
The browser tabs get me everytime
Just in time for CS 2
