    Saint Dominic,
The founder of the Dominican order. He’s an inspirational person towards me because he encouraged me to pray the daily rosary which I do every day.

TRUTH. I have been told by many, and it's never been a secret to myself, that I seek the TRUTH. I desire the TRUTH of God. Thank you for your words.

😢😢 Yes, we are hungry for Jesus’ truth, not the “truth” that changes with the world. We want shepherds who lead us to the Father’s heart and back to His Ten Commandments.
I love the Dominicans. Join the Confraternity of the Rosary.

Oremos: PATER noster, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo. Amen.
AVE Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.

Dominicans speak the truth. The Spanish Inquisition, the children who have suffered at the hands of religious, the suicides due to religious abuse, the people who have prayed and sung hymns. This is not the whole truth. There is much more. It is what people need.

@@christophmahler The dominicans (at least those I have met) have respect for traditions which precede the second Vatican Council and don't constantly obsess with living in accordance with "the spirit of Vatican II" which Bishop Barron seems to be so fond of defending

"(...) 'the spirit of Vatican II' which Bishop Barron seems to be so fond of defending (...)"
I'm not a Catholic, so ecclesiastical matters and all confessionalism simply roll down my back.
If this particular council bothers Your interpretation of the faith, just leave the Church.
But You can't be a Catholic without surrendering Your views to the authority of the magisterium, can You?
The question is whether having faith in Christ or formal nomination comes first and whether the latter can prevent You from a brotherhood in Christ across nominations and even creeds...
Barron is in most matters quite the role model of what the Preacher Order stands for - so I don't get Your objection at all.

@@christophmahler Ah, you seem to miss my point. I believe that the second Vatican Council is indeed a valid council. HOWEVER, therr is 2000 years of history and tradition which must also be considered when evaluating practices of the church, and too often do both laypeople and those of the magisterium completely disregard the history of the church in favor of modernism. Hence why I said the *spirit* of Vatican II, not Vatican II itself.

"I believe that the second Vatican Council is indeed a valid council.
(...) laypeople and those of the magisterium completely disregard the history of the church in favor of modernism."
Again, since I take issues with councils _waaay back_ when Catholic dogma expressed the political primacy of maintaining the Roman Empire, declaring fathers of the Church to be heretics, despite the fact that the most substantial theological writers would continue to rely on them even centuries later (e.g. Origenes) - I have no other solution to such _structural_ problems, but _heresy_ and can't tell You anything, constructive.
Unless, You aren't a cardinal, You have no voice in Rome - it's a hierarchy steeper than any _political party_ and the question is, do You believe that the overwhelming majority of bishops that stand behind Vatican II can't be _trusted_ .
If that is so, just become a Protestant like Luther when he proclaimed that *_trading indulgences_* are against the spirit of the _gospel_ (quite evident to me) - better men than You did so (e.g. the 19th century Italo-German philosopher Franz Brentano in regard to the issue of papal 'infallibility').
If You do submit to the doctrine that the magisterium is *_infallibile_* - in a wider, mysterious sense - then You'll have to _trust_ and maybe pray for that respective clergy will take a second look at the council, _assess what it was to achieve_ (e.g. *_renewal of mass attendance_* ), _empirically_ check if it did so (it didn't) and investigate if there are more crucial factors that should have been attended to, instead (arguably, adressing the *structual change in societies that comes with industrialization* and which leads steadily to _complete disaffiliation_ in all organized religions - to the satisfaction of the secular *social engineers* that don't have to engage in *'Culture Wars'* to enforce *'Westernization'* ).
      www.americamagazine.org/arts-culture/2019/11/14/review-why-did-so-many-catholics-leave-after-vatican-ii
Mere *'dog whistling'* about a _liberal infiltration_ of the Church hierachy - of course, this is _solely a mere accusation_ towards You - isn't going to cut it.
It's not how the Roman Church works, since emperor _Constantine_ ...
One successful route in Church history was that of Clunicensian monk Hildebrand in the 11th century - but he relied on armed aristocrats and brutal Norman princes for his profound, 'modernizing' reforms (something similar can be observed within the Russian orthodoxy whose 'religious' clergy resisted *_Islamic iconoclasm_* ).
