- [Intermediate] Origami Tutorial for Caterpillar folded from one dollar. This is my one-piece variation of Yami Yamauchi's six-piece modular Origami Fireworks. The pleated pattern is a simplified version of Yamauchi's fireworks. To make the original fireworks, you would need to convert the dollar into an even narrower rectangle to allow it to still turn around itself. @christmaspeep1234 Three inches by seven inches would work. A "3 by 7 rectangle" means that the length of the rectangle is 7 units and the width is 3 units. It's not important the length of the units, just that the shape is 3 by 7 (The length is more than twice the width). If you fold a square paper into an 8 X 8 grid of creases (fold in half, fold in half and fold in half again in both directions) then you can easily cut of a 3 by 7 rectangle. Hope that helps!

@origamimaster4716 If you want a better lock (more overlapping) you need to start with a narrower rectangle... or you could just fold in the long ends a tiny bit.
I combined three dollars of those and it made a bracelet. Its cool and amazing.

there is a reason i never tried to fold the koi fish dollar bill lol, all those pre-creases drive me crazy... I can't see and I have problems with my fingers... anyways, I love them! Wow. I did it!!! It got hairy once in a while, especially when it was time to adjoin the ends...but I did it. Whew. I def had to watch and re-watch a few moves, but now I can make firework sounds too! ; )

Well there's so much origami out there, type "caterpillar origami" on Google and there'll be a lot of relevant stuff. The shape of a caterpillar isn't all that complicated so I bet there's a lot of them out there. I bet a caterpillar origami would be cool though and every origami is special. I never said it was easy to design one though.. Nevertheless a caterpillar origami sound cool.

can you fold a revolver? with a spinning barrel (well, not a 360 degrees spin. maybe just one rotation) it could be modular too
