Dude that is the best thing i have ever seen someone use 2 dollars for no way that was a waste.
I think it's neat that you can make a pyramid and an eagle when both of them are on the bill itself.
Definitely best quality,style ever, and great tutorial even for beginners, no confusing fold names, everything is in depth, great stuff keep it up
@bela9365 Thanks. I designed it after seeing a little plastic balancing eagle in a toy store. I know, It seems like it should fall over... it's all about the weight in the wings.
@sammil120 Measured in inches... but really any size works as long as the paper's dimension is 3 X 7. (well, 3 meters X 7 meters might be a little too big!)

@viclovevivi Any 3 by 7 rectangle will work... to obtain a 3 by 7 rectangle, fold a square paper into an 8X8 grid of creases (fold in half, in fourths and in eighths in both directions) and cut off a 3 unit by 7 unit rectangle.

@JonesyFilms Ya, it's a bit tricky... you might want to start with a bigger 3 X 7 rectangle.
@TheDucTapeExperience Maybe try it from a large rectangle (3X7). It'll be easier to see the creases. The complex graphics on the dollar can make it quite confusing.
@thyjukftw roughly 3 X 7. At least the Pyramid can even be made from a 1X2 rectangle.

@CantBArsedProductio Fold a square sheet of paper into an 8 by 8 grid of creases (fold in half, fourths and eighths in both directions) and cut out a 3 unit by 7 unit rectangle.
@jellybelly8562 yes 6 X 14 will work! (AKA 3 X 7) The dimensions do not need to be perfect.
Ya, use a 3X7 rectangle of paper. That means the length of the rectangle should be a little more than twice as long as its width (3 inches by 7 inches.... or 6 inches by 14 inches etc.)

I saw this a few months ago and was interested but now I decided it's the perfect gift for the German exchange student at our school. It will be the perfect representation of america (dollar bill) and our school, whose mascot is an eagle. I am so excited! I hope I can fold it!

You guys can use any size rectangle you want, as long as it isnt square. I used a half-square (1:2 rectangle) and it worked fine, the wings were just a bit long. I believe euro notes should work, too
That's weird because the dollar is longer than 2:1 so using a 2:1 should result in shorter wings.
jeremyshaferorigami Hmm, I guess I just made it wrong, but I wonder what I did to make the wings longer. With the reverse folds shaping the wings I may have pulled it out a bit.

@TheAsian501 If eagle included cuts... then yes it would be a waste. But as is, it can always be unfolded and spent in times of need... so it's not a waste, but rather a mini savings account.
@yauboy123 Ya, that'll happen if the wings are too far forward... it tilts beak down as if it's dive bombing... you need to bring the wings back a bit, till it balances just right.
Thanks, I managed to make it with a sheet of rectangular paper and it turned out amazing, but it didn't balanced and I struggled making the tail feathers.

Easiest Way to learn this is to pause the video. Put your mouse on the bar with the circle that moves when the video is playing. You will see a small image pop up showing the point of the video that your mouse is over. Slowly move your mouse to the right and that is the fastest way to learn!

I don't know why, but I can't seem to get that sink fold right if I fold it using a dollar bill. I had to get a piece of printer paper and cut a bigger piece with the same length-to-width ratio as a dollar bill before I could succeed on that sink. It wasn't until then, and while following this video, that I finally managed to fold this brilliant piece of origami.
1 in the morning and Im making an Eagle. MERICA!

I recommend to cut out a piece of paper using the dollar and scissors to not accidentally destroy the dollar (just in case)
