This brings back memories which I totally forgot about. When you get your regulator on I believe you have to set the polarity so your are charging the battery and if the polarity in the DC current is going the wrong way the generator will discharge the battery.
Hi Richard from Ind with my 57 story! So just a few yrs had to let 57 go to buy a car I could drive to school with no troubles . I so wish I could of kept that 57 all these yrs. Ive got many 0ld car stories from thoses great yrs. My 0lder brother had a 67 Gto gold& black car 400 4 sp still to yhis day I think about his great Gto 0 boy a stock csr but sure was fast !!
Don, it sounds good! I’ve waited on that for just over 2 years if I remember correctly. I would love to own it but with an automatic tranny. I’ve got lots of nerve damage in both feet and legs or I would love the 4 banger…. Congratulations!!!
Wow! That was a big surprise! I didn't expect that! She sounds great! Sounds like she has a great tune on it too, because it cracks right off! It will be great to drive it next! Great ending, too! Happy Halloween!
Great to hear it start up and running Big Don ,sure love this convertible and it’s coming along great and sounds really great and I have no doubt that in your quest to get it back on the road in a manner of time,,Remember Rome wasn’t Built in a Night!!!🏆👍🏼😉
Congratulations, you did it. I know you could do it. I think I can smell the fresh paint burning too of a new motor. There is nothing like it. It's a nice sound of achievement. You must feel great. Have a happy Halloween to you and your family.
Thanks Harvey! Your right about the smell of fresh painting cooking with the engine fires up. It's very cool to hear it run. Happy Halloween Later Buddy
Morn from Ind Ove watched your show alot love the 55-56-57 s d uring Hibschool in 70 s I had 57 210 post car with a 283 big camb 4 sp a friend had built car to run at 0ur local Bunler Hill Drah wau here close great car but for me to drive to school it had troubles
Hi Richard from Ind again. Well Ive watched you build your great collection 0f great cars 0ver last few yrs I so wish I had a few but being 70 now retired its not eazy. IBut I am lucky to have few 0ld trucks a 62 ton Chevy with a great 0riginal 283 Runs great 4 sp. Traded a 0ld John Dear think was a 39 traded almost even up!
After a looong time, it’s alive! You’ve done an outstanding job not only on the convertible but all of them. I tell my wife I’m a cool dude cause I drive a 57 Nomad, but she disagrees. You, on the other hand, are the real cool dude! You’ve got all the best cars! And now, they all run (cept the one on the driveway, but that’s excusable.). Always look forward to your videos, cause there’s always something to learn! Very enjoyable!
Sounds like there was some lifter noise, hopefully it just needs ran or readjusted and hopefully that cam kit you got was good. The cams and lifters the past few years have been absolutely terrible with people everywhere having failures left and right.
It's running pretty good. The Camshaft is made by Insky and was heat treated by the manufacturer when I bought it. The older engines are having a real hard time with Camshafts for sure.
Good job that 265 runs great sounds good.. Hearing a engine start for that first time is akin to hearying a newborn baby cry!
Hey Buddy! Yeah that's a great way to explain a first start video. Happy Thanksgiving 👍
You the MAN, Big Don! Great job, most satisfing after all these months to finally hear it first breaths!

This brings back memories which I totally forgot about. When you get your regulator on I believe you have to set the polarity so your are charging the battery and if the polarity in the DC current is going the wrong way the generator will discharge the battery.
Yes indeed your correct. The old generators need to polarized.
