The song was written from the devil’s point of view while talking to Eve. This is the second song they did from the devils point of view, the other is Morte et Dabo
Finally, a pastor who takes the time to actually listen to metal and understand it. I've seen so many articles online passing it off as devil music just from the song titles alone and not fully taking into account the bands image and meaning of the songs.
Having watched many of these videos, I find that I am encouraged by the genuine thought that you put into your comments and reactions in general. There are a few exceptions, as there are in everything in life, but overall I am enjoying this series. It feels like a more wholesome personification of 'in not of'. Being open minded enough to listen and at least try to understand is something I feel far to many people who claim to be Christians participate in. On a different note, I like the story of Adam and Eve. It is, if nothing else, an example of Human nature. We are mistrusting of authority and always looking for a way to better ourselves. Even if bettering ourselves carries a heavy price, we are always willing to pay it.
Never really realized exactly how deep this song was. AA is one of my favorite bands. Great to hear your insight on the song. Got yourselves a new fan! You should check out Trivium: The Sin and the Sentence
Randomly found this channel. I love what you guys are doing. Really awesome to get a pastor's insight to the music i listen to. I would like to request Close to heaven by breaking benjamin.
If you'd like to do a reaction video to a song that you can use in your church, check out "Words Darker Then Their Wings" by Alter Bridge. It's based around religious conversations that the singer and guitarist frequently have. The singer is an atheist and guitarist a Christian. The guitarist actually sings the Christian's perspective in the song. Bonus points to this song for the incredible high note that Myles Kennedy hits at the end!!!
I personally am an atheist and I love the way you kept an open mind throughout the video, most people would assume that asking Alexandria is satanic. They are not.
Awesome commentary on Adam & Eve with the relationship comparison. Another great vid, this format where you stop the song and add commentary is perfect. Keep it up guys everyone’s really enjoying this. If I can suggest a song I’d say “Crown of Thorns” by For Today (Christian metal song)
couldn't agree more pastor andy, God COULD have made us robots but wanted us to have free will and willingly love him in return, and this world IS property of satan. everyone asking why would he allow this or this etc should know that last bit. if God intervened all the time we wouldn't need to have faith, even many people in the bible saw Jesus perform miracles IN PERSON and still didn't believe. i think many people deep down know what's true but just ignore it because they are too much in love with their sin. anyhow rant aside another great video. liking the input throughout the song instead of just at the end. another one closer to your EPICA reaction !! woooo
Great channel!! New subscriber here. I would love your take on the late great Ronnie James Dio. Either Sign of the Southern Cross from his stint in Black Sabbath or Last in Line from his own band Dio. These are two songs not done yet by similar channels so it should get you some new subscribers I’m sure. Ronnie Dio is legendary in the metal community known for having arguably the greatest voice in all of rock as well as co-writing 3 of the greatest and most Influential records in metal history with three different bands no less. To top it all off he’s known as one of kindest, humble and genuine guys you’ll ever meet not only by his peers but his fans as well. Having met Ronnie on two separate occasions and can tell you it's true. Arguably the most influential artist in heavy metal history. There will never be another Ronnie Dio.
Should do architects gone with the wind . The guitarist wrote the lyrics about dealing with terminal cancer then he passed and the band wrote "doomsday" for him
I feel like it would be interesting to see him react to Judith by a perfect circle. It would be interesting especially with knowing the inspiration to the song.
Thitman6 another pastor that does the same kinda thing these guys do covered Judith. It’s really interesting. You should check it out. ruclips.net/video/G6NrxM6aIMM/видео.html
Love your channel so far and what I do as a Christian when I listen to any kind of music is how does it relate to Christ ? I think everything you can relate to Christ in some way. I think a decent song that you might like to have a discussion about is A Perfect Circle- Talk Talk
What an amazing medium you have created to share the gospel and to get people to see the true struggle of good and evil. My wife and i have long argued over twisted sisters "burn in hell" as to if he really is delivering the gospel in a very direct way or playing the wolf in sheeps clothing. We would love to hear a pastors opinion. (Our pastor is in his 60's and will not entertain such music...)
As great as that theory was, the name comes literally from one of the band members, when coming up with a name, suggesting asking the lead singers cousin, Alexandria.
Hey guys new subscriber, I love your videos!! I think "left behind" by Slipknot would be a good song to react to. Hope your chanel keeps growing, keep up the good work!
React Let Me Live My Life by Saint Asonia, the lead singer is the original singer of Three Days Grace Edit: so some of the undertones from the original Three Days Grace are there but are slightly changed.
Lol that’s why we feel terrible when we do something wrong. It’s Gods grace letting you know that you goofed up. It’s very easy to shed that inner pain, pressure, and turmoil and no I don’t mean being a sociopath lol. If you don’t feel bad when you do something wrong, very high chance that you stepped out of grace but it’s very easy to get back into it. Edit: Eve did have a choice. She obviously said NO multiple times but finally gave in. We’ve always had “free will of choice.” She was just the first human to succumb to sin. That just lets us know that we can’t put sin to death without God.
I'd love to hear your reaction to some volbeat. "Heaven nor hell" is probably the obvious one but "fallen" or "hallelujah goat" would be interesting to hear your thoughts on. I really enjoy your videos! Not really spiritual myself, but I love music and enjoy hearing a different perspective on the meaning in the lyrics.
A really good band that has some interesting themes is Red. One of my favorites would be Lost, Already Over, Breathe Into Me, Of These Chains, Darkest Part. All great ones.
Love the videos! Just became a new subscriber. You two should definitely check out “Omega” by Periphery. They’re AMAZING musicians, lyrically, structurally, and instrumentally. The song is like reading a metaphorical book in a sense. Pastor Andy will definitely be able to comment on it frequently since it talks about sin, forgiveness, the unknown, and even resurrection.
Oh! And the vocalist knows how to adjust his tone in a superb way (low, high, singing, growling, etc) according to the lyrics in specific parts of the song.
As someone who is not christian... nor part of any relgion... I would actually love to talk to you about that whole topic... I want to try and understand and maybe find my way too... I just hate it when people try to push it onto me I just really feel like you could have a conversation about it with me... I am asking myself all different sort of things
REQUEST: Please do a song by Sanctuary, Album- Refuge Denied Song#5: Sanctuary. I wouldnt dare ask my pastor his perspective or give him mine for fear of being ostracized. Its happened enough times that ive decided to choose having a host of aquaintences in church over being known or understood. This is a song that i used to rock out to before i was saved that took on a whole new meaning based on my spiritual experiences as a Christian. Definitley deserves a deeper look. You're providing a valuable service here. Thank you and God Bless. Praise Jesus.
Please react to Megadeth, they have songs with spiritual themes. Looking Down the Cross The Conjuring Peace Sells Good Mourning / Black Friday In My Darkest Hour À Tout Le Monde Go To Hell Diadems Prince of Darkness I'll Be There Washington is Next! My Kingdom Come Never Walk Alone Millennium Of The Blind New World Order and I'm sure there's more but those are just a few that I remember. Great job as always. :)
If God is a good God, why would he put that tree there? I love that question. Being a father has taught me a lot about who God is. Buy some cookies, tell your kids not to eat them and see how long it takes for one of them to sneak a cookie. Is God a bad father or are we just rebellious children?
The best world possible is a world of good and evil, white and black, light and darkness. How would you understand the positive without ever experiencing something negative. You can't truly appreciate one without the other.
Do a reaction to something from the band behemoth. The singer is a very intelligent and a incredible lyricist. Even though is a satanic band, he paints a incredible picture with the songs meanings. It's honestly always a conversation starter with interesting results. Seeing all the sides of religion is always amazing topic, you should do a behemoth reaction because of the conversations you will have.
Ghost - Cirice Thanks for taking the time to actually listen to the songs. I'd prefer if the discussions/comments were a little bit shorter, but might just be me.
You should check out ghosts by mandopony. Its a song based off a videogame that deals with mental issues and faith or lack there of. Really good with vivid lyrics.
Since you've been doing allot of Avenged Sevenfold, here's some songs I'd definitely would want to hear your take on ☺ Buried Alive Tonight the world dies Danger Line Paradigm And just one more thing, kind of going back to James "The Rev" Sullivan. Besides "Brompton Cocktail" that kind of hinted at what was going on with him, and kind of a quick back story on that is he had an enlarged heart and didn't have a very long life expectancy to begin with but he lived well past what doctors told him. This is literally the last song he ever wrote and it was originally titled "Death" he made a demo of the song and gave it to the band mates only 3 days before his passing. I know it's not exactly why you choose the songs you do but it gives me a chill to this day when I put it all into prospective. The song is called "Fiction" I don't really expect you to make a video for all of them or any of them but if you do get around to reading this, I'd say at the very least definitely give these songs a listen. Thank you for your time ☺
I've conspired quite a request / react list for y'all. Mostly death metal and industrial metal.. But all have religious themes. Metal: Rob Zombie - Dragula Lamb of God - Walk With Me In Hell Industrial Metal: Powerwolf - In The Name of God Deathstars - Play God Marilyn Manson - Heaven Upside Down Marilyn Manson - Personal Jesus Black Metal: Behemoth - O Father O Satan O sun Behemoth - Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel Behemoth - At The Left Hand of God Dimmu Borgir - Progenies of The Great Apocalypse Cradle of Filth - Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned) Cradle of Filth - Her Ghost In The Fog Avatar - Bloody Angel Cannibal Corpse - Priests of Sodom Rock: Jonathan Davis - What It Is Jonathan Davis - Everyone Rap: Tech N9ne - Show Me A God Christian Metal (Metal-Cross): Saving Grace - OAXACA Gideon - Survive Whisper From Heaven - Crimson That's my list, enjoy!
BigKat TV Yeah I used to listen to a lot of this type of music so my knowledge of it is fairly good, but these "few" songs are only like a grain of sand compared to what I have on CDs, iTunes, Amazon music, and my playlists on my computer.. Someday I'll hit delete on all of it! But I tossed some Christian metal into this list, some of what I listen to besides stuff like Mercy Me, and Newsboys.. But I can tell you that most of these songs will have the Pastor shaking his head to guitar solos haha and of course the intense lyrics! I tried to avoid examples with strong language..
Thats true, this songs good too

If God is a good God, why would he put that tree there? I love that question. Being a father has taught me a lot about who God is. Buy some cookies, tell your kids not to eat them and see how long it takes for one of them to sneak a cookie. Is God a bad father or are we just rebellious children?
Choices are the foundation of any relationship...
A little piece of heaven // A7X
Please do Chop Suey by System of a Down. I really want to hear your thoughts on that one.
I hope they do
Definitely you should react to Red and Demon Hunter, both Christian bands with deep theology. Love the reactions, keep up the good work!

The best world possible is a world of good and evil, white and black, light and darkness. How would you understand the positive without ever experiencing something negative. You can't truly appreciate one without the other.
Iniquity is not the devil, it’s human nature.
Do a reaction to something from the band behemoth. The singer is a very intelligent and a incredible lyricist. Even though is a satanic band, he paints a incredible picture with the songs meanings. Buried Alive
Tonight the world dies
Danger Line
Paradigm
And just one more thing, kind of going back to James "The Rev" Sullivan. The song is called "Fiction"
I don't really expect you to make a video for all of them or any of them but if you do get around to reading this, I'd say at the very least definitely give these songs a listen. Thank you for your time ☺

BigKat TV Tech N9ne however has a significant amount of language in it.. Typical for rap music
