I completed my MS in Information Technology Management at WGU about a year ago. The program cost me $4,000 and took about 5 months to finish, with 20 hours per week spent studying. Now, I have just accepted a job with a 20% higher salary than my current role.
@@devingiles887 My professional background consists of database management, systems administration, and program management so I already understood a lot of the material and concepts. For 6 out of the 10 classes I skipped the reading material and practice quizzes and went straight into doing the writing assignments/projects. I would follow the rubric and set goals for how much of each assignment I would complete per day. I would use Grammarly to edit my writing assignments and Scribr to create my reference page. One class required me to write and research 2 books. Instead of reading the entire book I skimmed them to gain an understanding of the topic, proceeded to write while referencing certain sections of the book materials as well as other sources. For the two OA classes I actually read through the reading materials, did the practice quizzes, and studied flash cards that I found on Quizlet. Both classes took me a month each but I passed the exams on my first try. The capstone class I gave one last hard push. It took me two weeks to finish my capstone project spending about 5 hours each day. I wrote around 70 pages of material and dedicated a lot to finishing. After two weeks I finished the course and even won an academic excellence award.
@@devingiles887 I already had 7 years of experience where I held roles as a Systems Administrator, Database Administrator, and a Financial Program Manager/Analyst. Thank you so much for these videos. They were incredibly helpful; thanks to the insights I gained, I was able to complete my Bachelor's at TESU within a year. I'm now planning to start my Master's at WGU this winter.
@CollegeHacked It's a public ivy and it's stackable. If you choose to do the full 2 years of the MBA you get a post grad cert at 6 months, a Master's in Management at 1 year, and an MBA at the end of year 2. All for under 20k. I meant to put the MSM degree is 10k, full stack with MBA is 20k.
It’s a cool school, but not a full solution on its own. You can’t go from zero to bachelors there, you need to outsource your lower division coursework somewhere else. It works for specific cases. But there are still less expensive options, as the basic 30 credits required through them will still run $7k+. Not the worst, not the best!
The University of Arkansas offers an MS in Operations Management which can be done all online for about$15k. Ten classes taken over eight week terms. I did mine in person and was able to finish in 15 months. Also, no out of state tuition.
Check out Eastern University's MBA in Organizational Management or their Master's in Data Science or Data Analytics. It's a ten-month program for $9,995
@@LuisaAvila-p1h Both are private Christian colleges. Eastern is non-profit, and GCU is for-profit. The tuition reflects this. Eastern charges $300 per credit. GCU charges $655 per credit. Happy to help! You can’t hack a licensure degree, but Liberty University has a well organized online program for it. It all depends on which state you want to be licensed in.
