You have quickly become someone who feels like a dear longtime friend each time you post! I love it! Thank you so much for being such a great historian and bringing these lovely things to light for us!
I agree, I look forward to her videos so much. If I was in a Make a Wish sort of situation I would choose to spend a day with Doris, and go on a shopping spree in her store
Ms. Doris...it is such a delight to watch your channel!!!...so informative! Your collections are fascinating, eclectic and BEAUTIFUL!!!...Thank you for breathing new life into the treasures of the past! YOUR PASSION IS SO INSPIRING!!!...enjoy seeing your team as wel!!! WELL DONE!!! BRAVA!!! stay healthy and BE PEACE!
I had the great fortune to find a Judith Leiber leather bag at a thrift store with the tiny mirror and comb for &20. Score! I also own a pair of vintage shoes with a crystal design that o purchased online for about &25. Lovely!!! I saw her exhibit at the Long Island museum. They are amazing works of art. I can only wish to own one of her crystal bags. I would like to see you do an episode on under pinnings from the great design houses such a Dior. Sometimes it’s what’s underneath that makes the silhouette.
Doris, I loved the shirt you were wearing in this episode and am interested in seeing an episode on Mexican traditional clothing, especially since Mexican clothing was popular in the US in the 40s(?).
Doris! I love your glasses and outfit! I also love this video! A very beautiful love story between the two artist! Beautifully done! Wishing you an amazing day!
Well I must say you are always nice with what you wear on and your hair is also good as I love the way you style it so thank you for telling us about this programme.
not a brand name or creator in particular as a suggestion but maybe you could do an episode with "pieces with incredible embroideries", feathers? or also "the oldest things we have in stock to sell"
Judith, apprenticed at Nettie Rosenstein who was, at the time the preeminent handbag designer in the US.She made Mamie Eisenhower's bag she carried for the inauguration of her husband. There is also a Judith Leiber museum in East Hampton NY. Allegedly, the pave evening bags came about because metal bags came in incorrect and she covered them in stones and voila!
I literally just subscribed and then went and told my mother, " so I just found the #1 best RUclips channel and you're welcome for telling you about it "
Thank you for the great info on this purse designer I found one at a Goodwill and it has the signature and the accessories with it and it is silver color clutch type-thank you again for all the research you do and amazing what you do keep up the Excellent work you enjoy doing and make it very exciting to wait for your next video surprise-love all of them
Stunning episode. Thanks for sharing your expertise on these gorgeous accessories. Also, I enjoy 💟 your opening/closing images and music, especially closing piano music. Bravo. 🅰️➕➕
Wonderful Doris We have a tv programme here I’m Ireland called Repair Shop. People bring in keepsakes from their families past. Today someone brought in a tiny metal bag just like the nessecaire belonging to her late mother. It was pretty battered an artisan worked on it for days hammering and finishing the metal and relining it with tan leather. The lady was so touched to have it looking as it would’ve when her mother received it.
I worked at the Judith Lieber Boutique in Las Vegas Cesar’s Forum Shops . The boutique also carried her beautiful jewelry, perfume, sunglasses, belts , silk scarfs , pill boxes, lipstick cases . Full boutique. The pink diamond rose Minaudieres was breathtaking. I also did the in house repair of the crystals .
Love your channel . I worked in an independent higher end shoe store back in the mid 80s when Judith Lieber bags were all the rage. My boss always called them minaudieres.
Hi, this was and is a wonderful offering of life and love beyond hardship. Thank y for your consistent curative content I would love to see comprehensive book on Lieber. 👌🏾👼🏿✌🏿🙍🏽😍
It's always a great start to the day to wake up to a fresh upload. I've just made my first purse and I have some bag handles bought in a closing down sale that need to be used. You have given me inspiration for some suede yarn that need to be a bag. Thank you, Doris. Brilliantly done as usual.
OMG Doris, never heard of her but adore them! Love the white bag in front of you! I’m so grateful for your work. Any chance you could do one of my absolute favourite designers some time? The amazing Vivienne Westwood!
Hi Kieran. There's so much I don't know which is why I love doing these videos. We do research the week of so I am learning a lot! Thanks for your interest. Doris
Hi Cooper. Happy to know we brighten your day! I do not want to make the episodes about "me" in the present sense. Memories are 1 thing. Was there a particular piece you were curious about? Email us a screen shot to the store; thewaywewore@sbcglobal.net I will get back to you. Thanks for your interest and your kind words. Doris
Love this. I was thinking a video on a decade and then another decade's interpretation of that decade. Example, the 70s does the 20s. You could show the design of the original decade and how it has been interpreted through the years by different designets. This could also be done with a design element like embellishments. Or it could be done with a color through the decades. You also have great hat collections. I would love to see a piece on hats, as they are such a transformative accessory.
I just love your video's. Every week I'm glad to see you. This sounds a little silly but you and your store have been in my thoughts. You've given me a peek into the insides of couture dresses that I would have never been able to see on my own. Thank you.
👜👝 Hello Doris, I so enjoy your videos and your knowledge of fashion. Truly beautiful and this particular video of the handbags is delightful. Thank you so much for sharing. 🙋🏼 🇨🇦 P.S. My passion is " white pearl beaded " hand bags & clutch purses. I would be so happy to see what you have to show .
Just discovered you channel! It’s sooo good! I wish I had known about your shop when I used to travel to LA with work!! I’m stationed in London now! Keep up the good work and posting items from your store and amazing collection!
Great episode as always. Thank you for all you do! Ps: Do you know anything about Harry Rosenfeld? His purses are pieces of art and I can't find anything about him...with love Agata
I'm currently working on a Judith Leiber inspired bag, mine is definitely not as luxurious. I'm covering one of those plastic trick or treat pales shaped like a pumpkin with rhinestones, replacing the handle with a chain that I've woven orange ribbon through, and I'm going to use a little black velvet duffle to line the inside. I just need to figure out how to attach the lining.
My daughter found a tiny, coin size purse at a thrift store. She looked at me quizzically and asked why Justin Bieber was designing women's accessories. I knew what the label really said, obviously. I'm not sure if it's authentic, but it was worth the laughs.
Hello Doris - I'm addicted to this channel! Do you have any Tiffany inspired apparel? I am a huge fan of Tiffany jewelry and think it would be fun if there were clothing designs in the same fashion.
First off, I Love! this channel 💖 and have been watching you since your Smithsonian show, which I equally loved as well. My request for content topics would be another episode on shoes and undergarments i.e. bras, panties, etc...but anything you and your team puts out is amazing 💯
I don't know what you have in your shop/storerooms, but I would be interested in seeing how the fashion industry has previously approached comfort or sportswear pre-athleisure. I love love Gabriel C's suggestion of oldest things in stock!
