    Palmer is sweet. I'm happy you introduced him in this video! I'm also glad you are feeling better. Depression and anxiety is a tough road, and it's hard to navigate sometimes. Don't be sorry for anything, and always remember that you aren't alone. I look forward to your next video. Please show Palmer again!!!

    You’re amazing for opening up and talking about such a personal subject.
    More people need to hear and understand that it’s an illness like cancer, diabetes and so on.
    Having suffered from bipolar disorder for the last forty years I am so happy to hear you address it and take it out of the dark ages.
    Thank you!

    Hi Jennie; great to see you back. I can relate to what you said in your video as you basically described my life as well. I have suffered with depression for over 30 years and your videos always cheer me up. I hope you understand the positive effect you have on the lives of people like me. You say your channel is about your pets but to me, and I am sure many others, you are just as important. Your channel and others, like DIY Fiskeeper, are a comfortable place which always raises my mood. Thank you, and you should take a break whenever you need to.

Your helping so many ppl just by them watching your videos!! 💗

And you’re so young! Don’t let yourself not ask for help. I’m almost 60 and I still can’t ask for help. Done end up like me. Please. Love yourself because you’re incredible.

    I totally understand the chronic pain and depression situation. I do believe that there is a time when being strong becomes hard. I go through like a mental break down and just spill out everything I am feeling. I am from Minnesota. Your videos are amazing. Being strong is sometimes all we have but when that becomes hard where do we have to turn to is our different emotions. So thank you for sharing and know that you are not alone. You are so amazing and help and show positive attitude towards each day it makes things easier for me to get through my days. I suffer with CRPS and PTSD so I understand. Again thank you so much.

    Yay Jenny!! You're the reason my boyfriend and I really got into fancy goldfish seriously - and actually learnt how to properly take care of them! You help and inspire us so much and yesterday we noticed we have successfully spawned fry!!! 😭😂🐠 so amazing! So much love Jenny!

    • @holdingoutforahero5250
      @holdingoutforahero5250 6 лет назад +1

      Sian Pressly hope you realize 3 fancy goldfish have a minimum of 55g, and should have 150g as a permanent home if you want them to thrive. Considering she's keeping fancy's in a 30g, I wouldn't recommend taking much advice from her.

    • @SianPressly
      @SianPressly 6 лет назад

      holdingoutforahero thanks for your response. We have always been planning on getting a bigger tank - as we all know, more space is better. However, Jenny has successfully kept fancy goldfish for many years now and I believe her minimum rule of 20 gallons for the first goldfish and 10 gallons for every other goldfish does work. Also depending on what stage (size) your goldfish are at. The bigger mine get, the bigger tank size I will need to go.

    • @SianPressly
      @SianPressly 6 лет назад

      thank you for taking time to comment. I appreciate your advice. I currently only have the tank size I do and my fish are still small. I do maintain the tank VERY well and do frequent water changes - as I know that goldfish are dirty. I will be getting a bigger tank. Thanks

    • @holdingoutforahero5250
      @holdingoutforahero5250 6 лет назад +1

      Sian Pressly the 20 gallon + 10 gallon rule is actually a myth. Many goldfish will develop stunt growth in a 20g. Heck, I've heard of a black moor getting stunted in a 200g. I understand you look up to Jenny, but I also know a successful keeper, and they reccommend minimums so that a goldfish will thrive, and not just barely survive, like a goldfish in a 20g. Fame doesn't mean the person knows what they're doing, sadly.

    • @SianPressly
      @SianPressly 6 лет назад +1

      It's a bit rude of you to insinuate that just because someone has "fame" or subscribers, I would just believe them wholeheartedly - which isn't the case. I do get where you are coming from and I am always open to help and advice. I would like to know what your rule of thumb is for goldfish tank size? I of course have no intention of harming my fish or flogging off comments or anything, but I really thought over a year's worth of research would've at least taught me something. Very hard to get proper care information.

  • @cnm1522
    @cnm1522 6 лет назад +1

    Growing up, it was taboo to talk about depression and anxiety. So many times I was told I was just being dramatic and needed to "cheer up". I had to learn to mask it from others, so I know it's not easy to share. Everyone deserves to take a break and take care of themselves. I stumbled across your videos when I was dealing with some hard things in my life last year. It was watching your videos that got me into keeping goldfish. I absolution love their little wiggle butts and my husband referred to them as my water pups. My fish are not just my hobby but my emotional therapy. Thank you for all the videos you have posted and continue to post!

      Me too! I have bipolar 🎭 and depression, and ptsd. I understand how you feel. My depression improved when my doctor added Welbutrin 450mg to boost my Cymbalta. I started with 150mg, then 300mg, then 450mg. It took time to get the right dosage but now I feel a lot better! I get manic and depressive episodes with my bipolar, and thw depressive episode is hard to deal with. I cry easily. But most of the time I feel good. Up and down mood swings are difficult. I stay in pajamas alll day when I'm depressed. I get depression when I'm tired and hungry, and when my siblings have drama. Hang in there! 💖💕😎😁😉

    Just to let you know Turtles are the hardest pets to keep, they live MANY MANY years and they get huge specially Red sliders. I keep over 10 hermann's Tortoises that laid eggs and now I have to take care of 5 hatchlings. Also I keep 1 Chinese Thread Turtle and two Mississippi map turtle and holy crap they are hard to keep 😧😵

      TortoiseFan Easter Sunday last year I found a Map hatchling next to our churches front steps. The bayou was across the street! Brought him home in an aquarium for a year. Let him go then. Didn’t want him getting run over.

      As someone who owns many animals including turtles, they are not the most difficult. Try a parrot who needs 8-12 hours of social interaction a day.

    I have a close family member who's had chronic hip pain since he was 25.
    For years he endured excruciating nerve damage on his left siadic nerve.
    It changed him. Over time he lost his patience. But he got it back.
    He's an extraordinary person who've overcome giant mountains of life.
    That's my dad.

    Your ponds are beautiful ! My only concern is the plants you have placed in your patio pond, as irises are toxic to cats and dogs, and it appears your cats have access to the pond. I would research the plants you brought and make sure they are cat- and dog-safe.

    I have a suggestion concerning the water dripping down the neck of the urn. Let the urn dry completely. In the area where water run/drips make water channel with hot glue. Let the Channel or spout hang lower than the lip of the urn. The flowing water hides the hot glue and the water will flow down the hot glue spout. If it doesn't work, hot glue is easy to remove from terracotta or ceramic.

    Place a wedge or some piece to Lyft the back of the vase to redirect the water.

    I am sending you prayers and can tell from your spirit you'll be fine, praise God! I had an outdoor pond with shubunkin and a really cool bull frog, water lettuce, water hyacinth, yellow flag. My husband at the time built it, it was amazing, a wonderful hobby to have. He would change the water, i want to say twice a month, and would put the old water on the butterfly bush. That got to be over 15 feet tall, it was a great back yard!! I think I'm going to try a small one like you have on your deck, thank you for your video dear. On a personal note I've got pain and depression too, you're not alone. Thank you for your inspiration and video!!!

    There goes RUclips again, suggesting stuff I never would have sought on my own...and in this case, I loved it. I wish I could do this, but we have feral cats in our backyard :(
    I hope you're doing well; depression is hard to deal with and if it wasn't for my wife's boundless support (and some meds), I would be in a much worse place.

    I totally agree about being able to get away from it all. Stress can grow without us being aware of it to the point of being crushing. Good for you to get way. Stay safe out there.
