  • Together with Russell Bentley and Ronald (both originally from Texas, USA), we continue exploring the city of Donetsk in search of truth regarding what is really going in the city.
    The city center of Donetsk is still having a regular life. It's hard to say there are the war in the outskirts where people of Donbass are fighting for their independence.

    I am not very travelled. But i started to notice, that Donbass even during war looks better maintained as my capital city in central europe. Better building, approximatelly same mass transit. Far more monuments with balls. It is especially funny, since some of our politicians tend to regard east as something backward. In reality, we are backwards both on the west and on the east. Even Kiev looks far better. We are like a China for EU, but China works hard for itself, we work hard for others. And this is a tragedy.

    It would be nice to hear varied opinions of random people from the streets though, not just the speech of one guy from texas who has went to Donetsk to play war. And afer all, they are free - from what? They just got war on their daily thoughts. It could have been better than that. It's true, and you Sergiy has said this indeed - normal people everywhere just want piece. Food, good sleep, love - the normal things. Noone wants war and separation leads to conflict, conflict leads to war. There are better ways to keep a region's identity than destroying it's airport and living in constant fear. This is not freedom.

In my opinion you should be really carefull not to go to deep into spreading political messages... just stay in the business of connecting the culture where politics tries to make us think we re so different... but i think that the persons you re interviewing here are a little bit off the road from your primarily goal. This Russel guy is clearly not objective... its fine when he thinks like that but you should not promote his black&white propaganda like stories.... Dont get me wrong, i really like what you re doing but .... try to keep it neutral and keep out the politics... there are some amazingly stupid comments below this video...stay focused... keep up the good work. regards

    Strange video. I was in Donetsk in 2014 when the war started, and lived through a little of it. I wonder if you still see tanks driving around the main street (Artema, probably renamed now), and if the closed-down hotels and dorms are still filled with Russian and Chechen mercenaries. I lived right in the center, so I got to see a lot of what happened first-hand. BTW, the Beatles monument is there because of the cafe and nightclub called Liverpool. I used to go there quite often to get a cheap meal. I wonder if that place is still open...

    md80Captain: Respectfully, thank you for your interesting fable as to how the situation in Donbass came to be. We could spend days pointing out different facts and not change our views. But, I have a very respectful question to ask: Isn't it strange that of all the countries in the world only the Republic of South Ossetia formally recognizes the DPR?

    md80 Captain: My point is that virtually no one considers DPR to be a Republic. Thus, DPR is fictitious as a legal entity.and so are their passports. A respectful question: Can someone holding a DPR passport use it to anyplace in the world other than Russia? BTW why hasn't Russia formally recognized DPR if it recognizes DPR passports?

    • @Akpil2003
      @Akpil2003 6 лет назад

      md80Captain: Yes, Putin showed restraint when U. S. killed 500 Russian mercenaries in Syria. Trump showed restraint at Putin animation video showing latest Russian missiles heading to U. S. West Coast. Let's hope that both leaders continue to show restraint.

    What a great surprise. I was led do believe that everything was destroyed. Happy to see that things are running and are clean. As to political comments: The space from Oder River on the German border to Vladivostok is a Slavic World. The peoples living in the Slavic World must co-exist and live in peace with each other. A peaceful Slavic World is essential for World stability and peace. To trouble seekers: Think about it before you write a rude comment the next time, and before you fire the next bullet. With love for a Pacifist Christian Slavic Slovenian Canadian.

    • @paulsdancing5429
      @paulsdancing5429 2 года назад

      @@denxero in a peaceful world, neighbours, will respect each other. Regions would govern themselves as per their traditions, customs and religious beliefs. (Blogger Ely showed that Czechens have different customs laws than Muscovites). I see no need for a political union. In my mind, politics represent intrigue, corruption, bribery, lies, deep state, swamp...
      I also wrote that Dombass is the cradle of the Slavs. Destroy the Slavs - destroy the White Race. For what??? To widen the doors for humanity's march on the road to Sodom and Gomorrah.
