आर्कीमिडीज सिद्धान्त के अनुसार, किसी तरल माध्यम में किसी वस्तु पर लगने वाला उत्प्लावन बल उस वस्तु द्वारा विस्थपित तरल के भार के बराबर होगा। अन्य शब्दो में, किसी तरल माध्यम में आंशिक या पूर्णतः डूबी हुई वस्तु पर लगने वाला उत्प्लावन बल उस वस्तु द्वारा विस्थापित तरल के भार के बराबर होता है।
आर्कीमिडीज सिद्धान्त तरल यांत्रिकी का एक महत्वपूर्ण और आधारभूत सिद्धांत है। इस सिद्धान्त का नामकरण इसके आविष्कारक आर्किमिडिज़ के सम्मान में किया गया।
