My brother-in-law is a retired fire chief in Baltimore City. Whenever I would visit, from Florida, he would get a call when a fire went to 2 alarms and ready to go if it went to 3. I set up with him and my sister many a night listening to his radio to see if they were knocking the fire down. My sister said she needed a radio because when he left he took the radio and she couldn't hear what was happening. lol..Vary demanding job and he use to call fire drills. The first time I was staying and he did it, it was 5AM and I laughed. My sister made me get up and go outside because she said he was really serious about it. He wanted his kids to know what to do if there was a fire. They knew to feel the door and doorknob and if it was hot not to open the door. They had rope ladders and they knew how to use them from an early age. He taught me not to keep my fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink. If the kitchen's on fire, you can't get to the sink. He told me to keep it in my coat closet between the kitchen and front door. He was very fire safety oriented. My sister liked to burn candles. He bought her a bunch of LED candles with remotes so she wouldn't burn real candles. He also told me to never pour water in a candle if it catches fire because the wax is like fuel and explodes when mixed with water. I learned a lot from him being in the BCFD.

I remember seeing footage from the riots. Rigs and companies from PG County, Montgomery County and Howard County came over to help the City of Baltimore. They had to deal with the same thing. The stupidity of people over one person being arrested in this country just baffles me. Burning down businesses and looting from places for what? There's no greater cause in what they were rioting for.
