VDogg your 8 year old must have been stoked to catch this gig. I was that age when I saw Iron Butterfly. They weren't half the band that The Hip are but it still really made a crazy life long appreciation of live music! Hopefully your kid loves The Hip still. ✌❤🇨🇦🎶
Friend of mine was listening to a cd and i asked him who is that your playing. He looked at me like i was from a different world. Tragically Hip man he said!! Sorry i said never heard of them. WHAT!!!!!! Really. So i listened with him for a couple of songs and became a fan right then and there. WOW this is awesome love this group im hooked went out and bought CD's that same day. New orleans is sinking is my favorite song. Gordy is the greatest.....
He was such a gorgeous amazing man. I touched his shoe in Seattle because I'm a dork, but truly an amazing performer. Love the hip!!!! Saw them every chance I got.
Very cool! I did a concert by myself on a lowly Canon G10 back in 2009 at the NAC. Love Gord's antics, I have never seen anyone like him. I think the multi angle is very cool and the sound mix very clean. I did my best to pull audio out of the video recording from the compact Canon, and I went for the visceral experience. But the clean sound you got could be shaped for that and I envy the cleanliness. Well done.
Ain't gunna lie, it's a tough watch on a few fronts. If you're with me as a fellow Candian then you're there. If you're a young buck reacting to the Hip for the 1st time. This might be the wrong time for you as thus might be for more of family who's heart is on the floor. It's ok if you might not understand what i'm talking about but hope you too have that Candain Band who you've gone to bed with and woke up in the moring. Went out camping, thought that the Hip might make all the touch better. I have hope and i'm sure the Hip have hope we find them again within newer generations.
Yes I agree 110%. Watching him and listening to the lyrics and riffing, Gordie definitely reminds me of Jim Morrison The Lizard King! May they both find Peace in Rest. ✌❤🇨🇦🎶💋🙏 🇨🇦💃🐈
Went to buffalo show and thought the same thing..Gords timing was off..so bans was off..I think the effects of his disease was already affecting him..just my opinion
@@josephketterer792totally agree. It’s seems sacrileges to many Hip fans (of which I am one), this stating the obvious. I have had two family members pass from this vicious disease and by the time it is diagnosed(seizures for instance) or incapacitating, earlier symptoms (personality changes, headaches, eyesight issues etc)were usually misdiagnosed or ignored. It was only in hindsight that it made sense. RIP GD
Is Downie's voice shot? I love the hip and always will....I grew up with them and saw what might be the best live show I've ever seen when they played at the 86 street club at the world fair grounds in Vancouver.....but Gord hardly sings at all really any more. He speaks the words, screams the words, yells and puts more into his stage show than into the music and has for several years. You certainly couldn't sing along very easily at a show these days as Gord is purposely behind the beat or ahead of the beat with his lyrics, or he waits until the last second before an entire line should finish and rushes out all the words at once. It kind of makes me wonder if his voice isn't gone or has been failing him for some time now. Seriously, check his live performances around 1990 and measure them against his current performances and you'll see what I mean.
@@zigzzagz5732 ...ya I totally agree, drives me crazy. I think he's just bored so he's trying to keep himself interested. Ruins a lot of songs for me..perhaps he believes he's being creative...Idk. It is a total distraction at times, bands rockin' and 'oh look at my funny dance/face'
@@musicfreak69 Actually Gord didn't have his first seizure til December that year. This concert was in Feb. 2015- though the tumour could have already been at work on him without his knowing it at this point.
Such a good, talented and Canadian band. I love them and the sense of "Canadianity" they bring. I'm glad they never got massive in the US. That would've tainted their music and made it not nearly as home grown
Feb 2015! It's hard to realize how soon this is to all the things that happened that year. He looks so healthy!
Front row centre for my 8 year old daughter and I. Acknowledgement from Gord, drum sticks from JF and a water thrown to me from GS.
V Dogg they are great guys I got to meet gord three times

19:06 tears ... Over the last 25 years, this man has become part of my identity as a Canadian-American. Ahead by a century indeed.
Great stuff! Thank you.

My girlfriend and I went to several TH concerts together....she broke up with me....and went to this one....I sat home...sigh she ruined a good thing
Cool vid. Good sound. The Hip butchered Vapour Trails.... but it's all good! =)
You can...but it only makes it better/more unique.
I'm 58yrs old and looking for a hip replacement...
FUCK YES... BEST BAND OF ALL TIME.
I'm not sure who shot and edited this show- great job!
Myself, and 2 other tapers did. All details are above if you click the "Show More" link in the comments.
Love it buddy,. Makes tons of sense.
Not really sure how I evoked such an articulate response from you.
Just a fan, and glad you enjoyed the recording :)
Saw this tour twice, just seemed like an off night for the lads from Kingston
Dude was dying man. fucksake
He's still alive, you're speaking of the guy in the past tense. Every act has off nights no matter what their state of health they're in.
Lol this was 10 months before any of his medical issues began

Who cares. Be happy Gord is touring for one more summer.
OMG! The guy is battling cancer. What do you expect? Don't you know what chemo does to the body? Gord is doing his best.
musicfreak Why don't you actually read what I wrote. I'm talking about Gord and his voice over several years now.

saw you in 1990 the first time in Germany... been a fan ever since... rest in peace Gord... we will not forget
I was in Germany that same year. Didn't they play for the Canadian Forces Base Lahr?
RiP
Too bad the person who shot this video missed the concert.
This is how tapers enjoy shows, so not to worry, nobody missed it.
I bet the tapers have been to more than 2 shows in their lifetime.
