As usual Mike gives us fans a great video! Just hope he keeps making them!
Thanks, I got a big backlog so , I will be around for a while, thanks Mike
@@MikeHaduck great news!
This is the first time I notice you liking the rebar. Are applications like this, along the ground, better than walls and structural applications of the rebar?
Hi Joe, actually they insisted on the rebar and watched to make sure it went in, but the 3/8 rebar was a good choice, thanks Mike
Thanks Mike im ready to build a swimming pool now😉
Thanks Willie, Mike
Great job Mike and a great system for the fix! thnx for the vid....God Bless ya Mike
Thanks Bruce, God bless also, Mike
Nice job Mike! All of the videos are a huge help. Just this morning I was watching the stone pillars (part 3) video. I can't thank you enough for everything you have done for us.
Thanks Raymond, Mike
Thanks Mike good viewing
Thanks Matt, Mike
No big deal! 👍
Thanks, Mike
mike do they make a stainless steel rebar ? and if they do would it last any longer ? and what about the cost ?
Hi Chris, I would think it last longer but I haven't seen any, now they are using fiberglass rebar, thanks Mike
is it possible to reuse the big pieces of concrete? In other words, fill under then put them in place and fill in between and around them instead of rebuilding from scratch?
Hi Marty, I can't say unless I was there to see it, I got videos out on " concrete repair" usually it's patches, thanks, Mike
@@MikeHaduck Here is the link to a video showing the curb. thanks! ruclips.net/video/krqvEsFPSdY/видео.html
Always love a Mike Haduck vid. I didn't know you could hold a concrete form with concrete blocks. We live and we we learn. God bless n peace to all.....Darren.
Thanks Darren, Mike

Yes Mike, your videos do help those of us starting out in doing masonry work on homes! Highly appreciated!
Thanks, Mike
A snow plow is no match for Mike, it’s no big deal!
Nice job as usual Mike!
Thanks Clint, Mike

Thank you
Great job Mike 👏.
Thanks Rocco, Mike
Just like that! No big deal... I love your videos Mr Haduck, I learned enough to tackle some repairs. I only wish the cement bags were smaller...
Thanks, Mike
Hi Mike! thank your for you videos! I'm 5th generation mason, ALL things masonry, wish we could get more people into this trade. If anyone watching in the Kokomo Indiana and wants to learn a trade contact me!
Thanks for the comment, It's good to hear from the pros, thanks Mike
I will only use the layaway plan for my wheelbarrows now after once going underwater with big Rent-A-Center monthly payments on a fancy 6 cu ft double wheel. I don't know how you can sleep at night knowing you have come up with that payment every month.
Hi Dr, your right, I got a couple months loan extension because of the virus, lol, thanks Mike
Another great job Mike , you makes it look so easy.
I was wandering what type of camera gear you use to film your videos with?
Hi James, just a 200 dollar sony ,flip camera, thanks Mike
nice work. Glad to see you had some help. I've seen the damage from snowplows...no good.
Thanks Sue, Mike
So if I’m making flower pots and stepping stones is using Portland alone good enough 🧐
Hi Barbie, I would ask the people who make them, but I think most of them use Portland and sand, thanks, Mike
For a man who dislikes masons using rebar you sure you use it yourself. Excellent video showing the average person could do his own curb construction. Would you use regular concrete to do a curb, garden curb also?
Thanks John, anything that works, Mike
thank mr mike for nice work
Thanks Ali, Mike
The master! So great to watch you work, Mike.
Thanks James, I appreciate the kind words, Mike
Thank you for your knowledge
Thanks Armando, Mike
This is my 2nd year patching around my house.Where did I go to school? The Mike Haduck University. I mix small amounts ,I keep watching the videos and am very happy. And boy my wrists have gotten stronger from the mixin. Thanks Professor Mike
Thanks Ralph, I appreciate the kind words, Mike
Hey Mike, love your videos.I the same age as you,I’m a retired mason in NJ. I was drafted into it because my grandfather,My dad,my uncle,my brother worked together.
I was the youngest son son so I was the laborer until I was older. But I agree with that teacher you quoted about being aware and Listening and watching. I would go an hour early with my dad to get the mud going, scatter the blocks you set up! I kept ahead of them so I could listen and watch and learn(my brother really didn’t want to learn it but he is 5 years older than me so he pulled rank on me so I had to be the laborer. Sorry for gabbing here… I think I got the best masonry education watching and listening, they never had to ask for anything from me everything was waiting for them. But my point is that being able to listen to what someone is trying to teach you is Very important!
Thanks George, it's always good to hear those stories from a professional, thanks Mike
Mike, always and I mean always to get it to stick get it wet, as always, "NO BIG DEAL" when its easily done by a pro like you...tanks for sharing
Thanks Tom, I appreciate the kind words, Mike
Mike... You are TRULY helping MANY MANY people that you will never see... You are even helping those who never watch your videos because so many of us share what YOUV HAVE TAUGHT USE.
GOD BLESS BROTHER
ERNIE USN Ret
Thanks Ernie, I appreciate the kind words, comments like these keep me going, God bless, Mike
Yes, your videos certainly do help! This summer I had to do a patch up similar to this (although on the corner of a foundation), and thanks to your videos I could do it with confidence!
Thanks Swe,, that's great, thanks, Mike
Mike Haduck fixes others mistakes, no big deal!!!
Thanks, Mike
There is something that makes watching cement work by hand fascinating, and seeing how it turns out. I bet I liked playing with mud pies as a kid haha
Thanks Das, lol, Mike
Your videos help a lot. Two years back I watched a bunch of your repair videos and went through and repaired my front porch and steps, fixing some parging, chipped edges, and a spot where a brick-size chunk just fell out. Two Canadian winters later, still holding strong and looking good. Thanks.
Thanks, I appreciate hearing that, Mike
Thanks for the tips. I loved the scripture passage as well. I’ll leave you with this;
1-Samuel 9:6
Thanks, Mike
HEY SNOW PLOWS: CURB your enthusiasm in Pennsylvania! Looks great and I'm sure it will endure.Good scripture quotes from the Holy Bible.
Thanks Tod, I appreciate it, Mike
This is exactly what I needed, my friend. You have such a wonderful spirit within you, and we all can see it through your creativity here. This is what I needed after a long and stressful day at work. Finding peace and like-minded people is what makes me want to keep moving, working, and improving. Thank you and wishing you the best ;)
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words, Mike
I wish I lived near you..most companies that deal with cement/brick near me only do large jobs (city/state). Your videos are so helpful!
Thanks dreazy,, Mike
Mr. Haduck, the old curb did not look like it had horizontal rebar in it. Obviously the vertical rebar is to keep it in place. Why did you put the horizontal rebar in it? Thank you again I enjoy all your videos. Helping me immensely with my own projects. Take care.
Hi Onin, there was vertical rebar in the first one but it rotted away, the owners insisted we put in the new rebar, thanks Mike
In El Paso, Texas, I need to repair about a seven foot eroded section of curb that tapers into a driveway, similar to what your first curb repair was in this part 4 video. As a dyi, I’m not sure about working with the rebar, but what material cost do u think this project would be for me? I called three concrete companies to give me a price to do the job and not one ever came by to look at it, so I figured I might as well learn to do it myself.
Hi, it's impossible to say what you need unless I was there to see it, just do some research and I am sure you will do fine, thanks Mike
I adore you and your videos!!! All the way from South Africa. Wonderful that there are some honest to goodness artisan professionals left in the world. Someone who takes pride and cares enough to make these videos. I am already onto watching some of them a 4th time!
Question. Our houses here in SA are plastered brick where the plaster is smoothed using a wooden plank so that it's perfectly smooth. You always smooth your plaster with a sponge. Wondered if you ever plaster large areas and smooth with a plank?
Hi Kevin, sometimes yes but mostly my jobs are close to the ground. And making some parts thick and other parts skinny to flatten it dosent make sense, sometimes I use a stucco effect to hide the imperfections, especially old stone foundations, thanks mike
You used the fast setting concrete, and that if you thought you needed you'd put a little Portland cement in it. How would you determine whether you needed Portland cement? - what would that do for you, and how much Portland would (did) you put in it (i.e. what ratio?)
Hi , with my experience with that product I feel it does not have enough strength for northern climates, so I might pur a full trowel to a bag, for a little more insurance, my opinion, mike
Looks good Mike, u make it look easy. Rebar is a curse when it begins to rust.
Thanks Mark, I agree, Mike
I tried to watch this yesterday, the video would not play. Glad it's working now. Always enjoy, thanks for the video
Thanks Gypsy, Mike
Thanks so much for sharing these. VERY helpful!
Thanks Kevin, Mike
Hey Mike i come from a family of masons and can i just say i love your videos and the very valuable knowledge that most modern masons don't carry around with them I'm glad there are still masons like you around to keep this ageless trade alive without all the modern day bs although it does work most modern day techniques are simply inferior to how it was originally done
Thanks Jonathan, I appreciate the kind words, Mike
How much would I charge my customer for the Mr Mike? $460?
Hi Peter, it was for my cousin, nor that much, Mike
Mike.........Nice work as usual. Just a comment on the shirt I bought.
First of all I like the shirt....Ok. But being a Pa. guy like you, I was disappointed these shirts are not made in PA. or the USA. I'm sure there are a few PA. companies that could have made the shirts for you. Just a thought.
Best wishes...........John
Thanks John, I don't know, the company sends them out and I get a little commission, but thanks, Mike
great video mr mike
Thanks Rafael, Mike
That's a neat fix smoothing it out with portland. Beautiful job.
Thanks Dolores, Mike
Thank you Mike
Thanks Anthony, Mike
Mike, will the color be similar for the Portland you’re mixing to fill in the holes at the end?
Hi Edward it is usually very close, for a new pour, but for patches I will let it harden a bit and then paint it with mud to match the old curbs, thanks Mike
How do you know how tall to make the new curb? Is it just your experience makes it easy?
Hi Jim, I just continued with the same height as the other, Thanks Mike
Thank you (great one ) steady n practical no big deal 👍
Thanks Texs, Mike
It’s a big deal! To do that big of a job with the fast drying cement. Big deal.
Thanks Thomas, Mike
Thanks Mike, another fine job!
Thanks Vernon, Mike
I always enjoy your videos. Thank you!
Thanks Suzanne, Mike
Thanks Mike for all the good content 👌🏿!!!
Thanks 400, Mike
Mike is there anyway I can send you a photo and you can give me recommendations on a repair?
Hi Douglas, I appreciate it, but I can not give advice over the internet, but thanks, Mike
You could've also cement over the broken sidewalk and smooth it over
Hi Nancy, that's owners decisions, thanks Mike
Thanks for sharing.
Question Sir.
The wood boards are they treated or wet? The ones used to support the concrete as it dries?
Hi ,they were just 1/4 plywood, and I just went with the height of the old curb, thanks Mike
@@MikeHaduck thank you.
Hi Mike, do you out any type of sealer on these small size repair jobs ?
Hi, depends on what I am doing, thanks Mike
Love it Mike. Keep them coming.
Thanks John, Mike
It might be time to write your next song… it’s a big deal.
Thanks again, Mike
Another fine job, have a great day Mike.
Thanks Paul, Mike
Do you allow for an assistant or apprentice?
Hi, I am basically retired, just filling in for other contractors and family or friends, can't do it everyday now, just doing it for the videos, thanks Mike
nice job mike H. awesome curbilation
Thanks Dave,Mike
Mr. Mike, how did you keep the bend in the plywood on the curved curb form?
Hi John, I just have a bendable grade, sometimes double up on Luan or anything that bends, and blocks pins or bricks to hold it until it dries, thanks Mike
@@MikeHaduck Thank you Mr. Mike for answering my question. Much appreciated.
Great video again. Mr.Mike. 👍🏽
Thanks Mississippi, Mike

Thank you for breaking it all down in simple terms. You continue to give me the confidence to tackle projects I would never have thought of doing myself.
Thanks william,, Mike
Nice work.
Thanks Roger, Mike
Here in Norway we would have lifted the broken granite away and down with a new one 😂
Hi, I been preaching that for years, even got a video called " sidewalks, old school vrs new school" where I showed them doing that in denmark and sweeten, thanks Mike
What would happen if you laid a barrier between the foundation and the curb you repaired?
My wife and I really enjoy your videos. Jealous of all that hair though 😩
Hi Scott, they usually have reflectors up so they know where they are, but eventually it will happen again, thanks Mike
Sorry Mike, I meant felt or paper above the foundation in case a plow hits and breaks the new curb you just laid.
